    Let's talk buried loot

3 VSS, 4 VSD, 4 LAR ( counts against Maximum if carried by player, buried, or spawned on map ) 5 KA-101 ( counts against Maximum if buried or spawned on map ) 10 KA-74, KA-M, M4-A1 ( counts against Maximum if buried or spawned on map ) 15 USG-45 ( counts against Maximum if buried or spawned on map ) Everything else is uncapped. These values are from 1.04. I am unsure of the values that apply to the Vaiga. Some of the listed values may have been altered. Would anyone with access please provide the community with updated xml file values? Many thanks in advance!!

    Let's talk buried loot

Boo f#¢&!+$ Hoo. Hoarding is bad, real lame, but having a stash to stay prepared is vital. I'm talking about a sea chest with canned goods and some chlorine tablets. I don't want to build a base. I like to hang out in the woods. Many players on PS4 are despawning, automated half-wits, no matter how modest your cache may be. They just like to be griefers. You can't keep anything above ground. I have 8 guns buried, but those are as good a currency as you will find in DayZ. They are vital for trading, or has the pc crowd been spoiled by greed-fueled NPC trader mechanics? Don't be a fool. This is a bloody apocalypse man! Get your shit together.

    Cholera is ridiculous

I see it as more of a psychological element that changes your character, rather than a physical agent which takes time to develop. To me it's very different than getting "sick" from bacteria or the cold weather. Just my opinion. P.S. @Sgt 45 bravo 246br : There is waayyyy more chlorine than you will ever need in the game. @Tonyeh is right, make sure your hands are clean. I have never gotten sick from water out of the well. Either that, or your contagious friend is giving you the illness at a time that seems synonymous with drinking at the well.

    Having trouble

Best advice: practice with the gun you have. This will help you be decisive when the time calls for staying sharp under stress. Do some infected target practice. Remember: don't kite them, and keep it honest. You will soon discover that movement is life. Take enough time to line up your shot properly. Be fast, but remember that sometimes fast is slow too. Keep conscious of your ammo count. Take careful note of the advantages and disadvantages of each weapon and optic to use your environment wisely. Oftentimes, someone else got there first. Other players' activity has to be accounted for and included in your expectations. Regulars on servers will keep guns as currency or as trophies. It can get out of hand as it does in the real world. Each server generally has a different player-base with their own priorities. On the server I play on, I find an Assault Rifle at inland military locations 5% or less of the time I have made an effort to search. That's less than 1 out of 20 missions, which consist of going to more than one military location. SEARCH EVERYWHERE IN THAT LOCATION! Players who stash weapons in bases or underground stashes affect the spawns of the high-tier ARs. Oftentimes, the number of guns on a server (all areas of it) is less than the numbers I will discuss, and will climb over time (every half hour to a couple or so) until reaching these amounts: 3 VSS / 4 LAR and VSD / 5 KA-101 / 10 KA-M, M4-A1, KA-74 Once one of these values is reached for a particular gun, a new one of that type will not spawn. Which means you will have to go treasure hunting with a shovel, or gets some friends and raid a base! (The first three guns are also affected by players who are carrying them!) Helicopter crash sites give you a good chance to find nice weaponry. I've found an AR about 1 out of 3 times I am lucky enough to find a crash site in the last two years of playing. Be persistent and patient @Agrivo ! But if that doesn't work, buy Livonia DLC, go to a persistence off server, and you will be instantly "wealthy," as you might measure, if you survive of course...

    Suggestion

Don't drive then, the PTSD will come back with urgency! Hahahaha!!

    Suggestion

@GeordieMarv : I like the idea of being able to split all those things except the matches. The way the containers for these items appear in-game, it seems feasible that you could tear off part of the packaging for chlorine tablets and the like, and hand them off to anyone else. However, I can't see the same thing happening to a box of matches; you can't really split the box if you think about it the way it is presented. Match-sticks would probably break in your pockets or backpack. P.S. The [v]Olga has a working clock on the dash. I personally don't care for a watch being added to the game, but that's just me. @Parazight is spot on with sun location tracking. I use the same strategy. I'd rather see a bicycle than a watch in the next update.

    Console Update 1.08

Solid! Thank you to everyone in the team!!!
  8. The respawn rate of zombies--after killing a hoard of them--is ridiculously short in this new update. Honestly, it breaks the immersion slightly.

    A Hunters Request

I agree, the hit boxes for certain animals could use adjustment to better reflect realistic counterparts. Also, if you get a decent shot at your target, especially any high caliber round, and they do run, bleeding out should be a plausible result, with the skilled tracker being rewarded after a bit more hard work. Watched a video recently where a guy hit a bull moose in the lungs with an improvised arrow. It took over four hours for the poor bastard to drop dead. It was a brutal video, to be honest; real sad. Violence rewards us with hardship and woe. Be grateful for every step of the way you are granted to advance.

    Multiplayer possibilities

Speaking of the airport, don't forget to check the green guard towers; there is good loot in there sometimes and no one cares to barricade those.

    Multiplayer possibilities

I like the idea of "fortifying" an existing structure. Do think it is unfair? Or maybe you prefer a different way to play from other experiences you've had. Remember, it's a large map and no singular player will be able to control all the spawn points of a specific item, realistically speaking. I'm just playing "devil's advocate," I enjoy debate and discussion, not argument.

    Multiplayer possibilities

You'll get the hang of the hunger mechanic with more experience. For me, it's no longer an issue, with proper preparation of course. Suggestions: 1. Find or make a fishing rod. 2. Hunt animals. (cooked fat is VERY calorie-rich) 3. The infected don't drop as much food as they used to, though you may get lucky now and then. 4. Even if the Apple icon for Hunger is full, you can still consume foods as long as your stomach is not full (separate icon). I eat everything I come across; unless I'm near the coast, in which case, I will spare some rations now and then for freshies. This strategy can keep you full for hours (real-time) and your inventory will be less cluttered!

    Multiplayer possibilities

I wish there was less food, and less non-predatory animal spawns. What you may be running into with the wooden walls built by other players is an exploit that doesn't give you the prompt to destroy the wall with a tool because of the wall's location (intentionally built that way by the player).

What do you guys do as solo players?

A few months ago I was trying to role-play in Kamy, so I put on all the police uniform gear and tried to help fresh spawns. Many players have a tendency to kill bambis down there, it's an effin blood-bath; so naturally, other players wouldn't even give me a chance and would run off as fast as their feet would take them even though I was being the good guy. Oftentimes, I will run around randomly looking for players to spy on through a pair of binoculars or a hunting scope. I like to watch their behavior, and keep my distance. In early January I saw a couple freshies get betrayed by another player they met near Solniy, so I re-positioned and put a .308-sized bullet hole through his/her chest for being a back-stabber. That was cool. Sometimes I'll put a car together and go drive down the South coast highway. Lots of players like to act up down there, and buck-buck, so I bring the ruckus. I don't camp military spots. Pursuing shots in the distance is always exciting. Heli-hunting is a hobby of mine every few weeks. I like hunting to feed myself. I don't like that the animals seem strangely resilient to hot lead. It would be nice to see vital organ hit boxes expanded to be more realistic in update 1.08 or later.

Advice to new players to find food

Do fruit trees drop fruit when you chop them with an axe? That would be cool.

    Tracer Shots

Already in the game @juliofs. Most calibers have a tracer variant.

Too Much Emphasis On Hunger And Thirst?

Furthermore, when you spawn on the coast, it is very much apparent that you are a civilian, possibly just experienced a horrible misfortune at sea, and haven't been fed or hydrated properly. These are your primary tasks as a human, not a Navy SEAL.

Too Much Emphasis On Hunger And Thirst?

This game is about interactions with other survivors. It's your choice to act in a manner you see fitting or entertaining. This game is NOT about finding loot. To be clear: All that shit you find laying on the ground all over the map is "fluff and fold." (Except, of course, food and drink. Sorry it's a bitch for you, really, I am.) If your MO is to loot military gear, look "cool," and rack up a kill count, that sounds like PUBG or CoD gameplay. By no means is this a wrong way to play the game! You are free to do so and I will not admonish your intentions. But to acquire such riches, one must be patient, be thorough, be persistent, sometimes aggressive, and fully understand that they are not entitled to find and possess these items.

    helicopter crash lore

Greetings. Restock is unavailable for helicopter crashes. However, if you want them to be more rare, increase the lifetime value. This is a simple solution, though not exactly what you wanted with the mechanics. Lifetime is 2500s vanilla. If changed to 43200s, helicopters would only randomize twice a day. Effectively, there would be 6 helicopter crashes in a real time, 24-hour cycle. 28800s for 9 helis, 21600s for 12 helis, and if you only want three per day, set lifetime to 86400s.

    helicopter crash lore

Great info in here! Quick question summary: 1. False. 2. False. Three helicopters will spawn at a random crash site every 41-42 minutes. Only three appear on the map at one time. They randomize after every 41-42 minute cycle. 3. True. The way I am interpreting your question is that loot will spawn only if a helicopter is present. It will not randomly spawn at the sites without the helicopter crash event. Some loot is specific to helicopter crash sites, and cannot respawn in other civilian or military locations. 4. False. (Loot will despawn with helicopter despawn.)
  21. Hey dude! I play on US MI:2392, and we have a decent crowd playing in the evenings, and especially weekends. The day and morning time can be a bit slow. I'm trying to grow the local militia so as to have a strong, dependable, insightful, persuasive, and most importantly, autonomous group of survivors that are not bogged down by militant hierarchy, nor restricted to only playing with the group. My PSN is EzyStrider, send friend request. Where are you from? When do you play? What's your style or role? @Anwah

    [PS4] New Sniper & Attachment

Military uses 10x scopes as standard for sniper rifles. That hunting scope is already legit, what more do you want? Let's add a telescope to the game, then mount that to your Mosin with some duct tape... sorry if this is offensive, it is not intended to be. Shooting 500-1000 meters is not supposed to be a layup.

    Hold rmb to ads

It would be great to have the option to map out your own controls in such a complex game.
  24. EzyStriderPS4

    You died. Why, who,what?

Very possible that you caught a sniper's well-placed shot to the skull. If they were far enough away (250+ meters), you wouldn't hear a thing because the sound waves would reach you after the round cut all the life from your body. I have experienced the same thing as you man, a couple times. Once, a buddy fell dead right in front of me the moment we met up thanks to a hidden sniper. They're out there. P.S. [ Not sure what the status of hackers is currently on official PC servers. The hackers had this capability to kill players without being near them on the map. I am on PS4 (obviously), and we don't have those issues. ]

The option should display at the bottom left corner of the screen, below the item name, when it is in your hands,
