Please, switch the zoom controls with 1pp/3pp controls. What I propose would allow the player to free-look by holding L1/RB and simultaneously zoom in and out by pressing R3 once, instead of double pressing the free-look button—again. On PC, this mechanism is achieved with exceptional fluidity. In conclusion, this easy-to-implement change will simplify and vastly improve controller handling for console players. Please consider this change, @ImpulZ. To all: Thank you for your time if you have read this.

Yeah, it would be great if we could map our own controls, and get better sensitivity, acceleration, and dead zone adjustments, @TheYetiBum. But that’s too much to ask. This request seems highly reasonable and couldn’t be hard to change..... -

@Amp4hilyon: Good thinking! I don’t believe the average DayZ player is as thorough or cerebral as @McWendy in taking that extra step. edit: For it to have the highest chance to work, the crates have to appear unorganized, as though they were not arranged for the specific purpose you are intending to use them for. My best advice to you is to split your loot into multiple caches in several different locations. (approximately 400 - 1000m apart)

What is the direction of this game? Light sources don’t emit light when you are more than 100m away, and when you zoom in, lights disappear at night. No bicycle, no motor bike, no bow, no spray paint. There are multiple available slots for gear. Imagine wearing a sweater and a rain coat at the same time in a three-layer upper body system? The heat system is bogus. Shoes, hats, upper body, face, and hands should be prioritized, not whether I have a backpack on, or a vest or not. Shock values need to be reworked. Gun fights are worse than before. 7.62x54 and 7.62x51 need big buffs. Instead... I look like a backup dancer from thriller and if I want to stay still for 30 seconds (to watch the fire for example), flies descend upon me relentlessly and I can’t hear anything else. We got another 5.56 rifle. This Halloween “event” is immersion-breaking for me and the game feels less like DayZ. P.S. The gas is nice and adds a layer of lore. The heli crash sound makes the event much more exciting and dangerous, and most importantly more accessible. Developers are doing some very great things, but this last update, and specifically the new event, has made me put DayZ down for at least its duration. -
The flies are getting old. Real fast.

@Kyiara Was server 2242 deleted? There was no notice on Twit-fest or here, at least none I can find. I’ve loaded up several times, but I don’t see it listed anymore.

Scopes decrease sway pattern size and improve stability by slowing the sway pattern I believe. -
Has anyone heard these huge crashes/massive explosions on vanilla? I've heard them twice now and at first I thought I was hearing grenades from a raid.... but this is different. Seems large-scale and amplified. Both times I've run to the spot where I heard these explosions and both times I've been attacked by wolves. Could be a coincidence, especially considering both locations are wolf hot-spots.

Completely agree that the implementation was awful! However, it could be far more subtle. Especially if the other person is ADS. The flinching effect should negate being able to maintain aim. Maybe a little limp when you get shot in the leg or more gun sway if shot in the arm? Kinda brings Fallout to mind with their limb damage system... (which was certainly far from perfect)

Dude, so much misinformation here... .22 won't puncture your skull. .380 has less muzzle energy than 9x19mm, which has less muzzle energy than .45ACP. In WW II soldiers were issued .45 COLT pistols because they could incapacitate or kill with one shot, center-mass. The G.I.'s were not issued .380 Long cartridges for a reason... The FN 5.7 pistol round is lethal with one shot center-mass; and can be armor piercing against IIIA armors and lesser gear. (not in the game, but clearly effective.) What does "super lethal" even mean? Either it is or it isn't!

I agree @Tonyeh 5 shots should definitely be enough to uncon another survivor with 9x19mm or .380 as far as shock values go. WOBO on YouTube has good metrics for this kind of stuff, I don't know what the values are for those calibers in-game.

I know what you mean as far as gameplay goes, @Tonyeh. However, 9x19mm is not a round that has much stopping power. It definitely hurts like hell. So the other survivor not even flinching is unrealistic. Furthermore, there are plenty of accounts of real life situations where people survive having been shot 7 or even 9 times with 9-mil.

Sounds like a fantasy world where physics and rationale don’t exist. They should get rid of craftable crates and compensate with a few barrels or tents. Make dry bags far less common and make them count toward the max like sea chests. Buried stash should last 21 days. None of it matters if they just keep wiping more than once a year.

Maybe a scope? Make it dynamic loot. Super rare.

Instead of a specific slot for a specific item, please just implement the slots and the attachment can be chosen by the player. What if I want to carry two pistols or two knives on the same belt? What about a grenade on my belt? How come I have no option to carry hatchet on belt (not splitting axe)? Add more diverse pouches for plate carrier: more storage, well now you can’t have as many grenades. Attaching knife to plate carrier is unavailable. We should be able to attach a small pouch onto the belt.

Craftable tripod is a good idea! The stone fire pit and stone oven should be persistent for 14 days, but are not. The basic fireplace version should be persistent for less time, perhaps 3-6 hours.

I am really annoyed by the fact that currently the .308 and Russian equivalent round are so nerfed at long range.. You can’t kill targets reliably at 500-600m as you would be able to in a realistic setting.

That’s 9-mil @Tonyeh! Sounds about right. However, it takes three .45ACP rounds to kill military unarmored infected. That’s shit. Should be one or two shots from inside 15 meters (if we had vitals), survivors or infected if unarmored. 5.56 is way too strong out of the 101 and M4, but the M16 feels perfect. The M16 is far more lethal when it comes to stopping power than the tiny M4 IRL because of its optimized barrel length. 5.45 seems like it produces realistic damage but not enough bleeding from yaw effect. One time I was ambushed at Tisy mil-Base, a fella sprayed me full of 9mm out of the MP5-K point blank. I was unarmored. I fell unconscious with 5 bleeds, then he stood over me and executed me. That was before the shock buffs in recent updates!

Use a flare, chem light, flashlight, or head lamp. Craft a torch. Find a pair of NVG. Please have a look. I do loathe the personal light though. -
I have to admit that vehicles are performing much better than in v1.00! I know most of the spots where it lags a bit from loot and inventory interaction proximity, and crashing isn’t much of an issue. With consistency, I can get about two weeks (real-time) out of a vehicle before some style of brutal wreck because I’m speeding or even more often, a theft. The ONLY time driving has been a negative experience for me is when the fireworks go off. Bullet/projectile physics can freeze the screen for up to 10 seconds at its very worst in my experience. (Solid speed interwebs.) Leads to death 60% of the time, every time. Frame rate drop can be further reduced as more surfaces are involved with the bullets; most notably in cities. Don’t get me wrong though, I do enjoy my time on the beach. There is a sense of accomplishment that accompanies surviving a night spawn as a fresh hatchling on a first person server. Seeing that sunrise is a beautiful thing. Once, a random garden was responsible for my survival. Conclusion: Cars are things, which means they don’t matter. In my experience DayZ has always been about the different interactions with other survivors. Almost every situation is different because of the open-ended sandbox design. Don’t go bitching about materialistic goods while the biological-chemical apocalypse is in a full upswing. Everything is going to shit out here!
