Not to get off topic here, but this post was about auto-aim. It would be nice to hear something from the team on this one. Hit me with some technical knowledge!

The D in SSD stands for drive. Had to bring out the Grammar Nazi on ya! I'm not trolling, not laughing at ya, dude. You know what's funny though? Shrimp Scampi any time someone says it. Scampi is the Italian word for shrimp. Bunch of folks out there just yelling "Shrimp, shrimp!" It's like, "Hey, I'll have your finest shrimp-shrimp tonight." Anyways, you make an interesting query about the driver! Have you tried going down the same road at the same speed with a friend, having exchanged seats in parallel experiments? It would be interesting to compare it to some kind of control. I have never put a car together, so I've no experience. I hoof it everywhere, wearing away the world's most durable footwear at beguiling rates in the most extreme region of the world, the gnarly terrain of Chernarus.

This is an interesting thread. Been slain by a pack of wolves 4 my last 5 deaths. Would really enjoy hearing someone expound on these Water/Rest/Hunting Ground designations.

If your current character is alive, it will not change in game until your character dies. Did I understand you correctly? So stash and suicide, or keep on truckin'!

I would like to see the wear rate of shoes be about 33% less quick. Pristine boots (hiking or military) will be damaged after about 8-10km depending on the terrain and rate of travel. Once you repair from Damaged to Worn, it still only takes a click or so before they go back to Damaged state. This could use some re-balancing. Suppressed, not Silent, is a key distinction! The movies have blown this non-sense fiction out of proportion, my man. I've commented on this before somewhere in the forums, but a suppressor in real life gun-firing only reduces the sound approximately 10-35%, depending on your hardware of course. A suppressor simply makes the gun safer for the user by reducing damaging decibel thresholds, it doesn't make your gun go "tfff" like some shadow assassin. Good advice here, supernick!

A believe a major factor for console performance issues stems from the fact that both the PS4 and XBOX One have 8GB of DDR Ram memory. The game is recommended to be run with at least 16! Hence, PC has far fewer issues. There is no way to upgrade DDR Ram or GPU for your console. Solid State Drives help with application loading; their data transfer speed is significantly faster than Hard Disc Drives. However, an SSD will not improve FPS in DayZ because game assets are server-side and not on your console as with most other games. The console versions will need to be significantly tweaked to contribute any change to physics of cars, loading textures, and overall CLE processing.

Hahahahahaha!! Myy man! I always throw my Tundra into inventory and not on my shoulder for the same reason.

Found one yesterday, no clip however. Was still excited as hell. Is the .22LR ammo rather scarce so far in your experiences?

Developers: Please allow consoles to map their own controls and create custom configurations. We need the ability to press, hold, or double tap each button/thumbstick for separate functions. We also need the ability to hold a button and press another as a compound command. This last idea is already available with the "hot-bar / wheel" when holding down R1 and using right stick to quick-select items. Help a survivor out.

I had to restart my PS4 for this to go away. It happened to me while looking through binoculars: I hit the left stick by accident/reflex/whatever reason, and blue screened.

So a couple days ago, I ran into another survivor and I had no idea you could empty containers by looking directly down. So, intuitively enough, I poured out my newly found bottled water into his pot, filled the empty bottle at the well; I then made a fireplace and drill kit. We lit a fire then he poured the unsafe water from the pot over the fire to empty his container for use. It would have been quite a bit easier to pour it out, but I didn't realize the mechanic was available! I'm handing out beans.

I hear ya! Brand new bag of tricks, just a few treats. Lots more game crashes than before it seems.

You have contributed to a continuing development process, my friend. Things will improve. We on PS4 have only gotten two updates. I don't KoS, but the apocalypse is full of blood-thirsty half-wits. I feel for you bud. My first 8 out of 10 deaths were at the hands of other survivors. With each experience, I have gained resolve and wisdom. There are legit players out there, but there's a bunch of folks running scared too. My best advice is to use these opportunities, though they may not seem like opportunities, to improve your patience and alertness. P.S. I also had my character wiped once, it was tough, but shit happens. Don't get attached to any item or gun. I know it's easier said than done.

I'm not saying you're full of crap. I'm used to most folks simply assuming fact without reference or research. I respect your attitude towards the game and where your priorities lie, Pugman, so no offense meant. If it has been slight, as you say, with credit to the developers, it has gone mostly unnoticed by me. I must say, the aim assist was SO gentle, it seemed non-existent. I'm glad that it has only to do with Zeds and not PvP interactions. Out of curiosity, does it affect other PvE elements such as hunting? The new setting in 1.05 update seems to really amplify the aim assist. I tried different methods last night aiming at Zeds: 1.) Quick-aiming (both iron sights and hunting scope), from below and above targets. 2.) Sweeping across targets with hunting scope while standing still. 3.) ADS with strafe. CONCLUSIONS: No noticeable difference from before with setting turned to [OFF], but a marked draw of the cross hair when turned [ON] for method (1) and (2). The scope was less responsive/affected by setting [ON] than iron sights in method (1). There was a lesser response with method (3) with setting [ON]. Neither setting seemed to affect gun sway. I tried both iron sights and hunting scope at 4x magnification. I did not attempt to hold the cross hair steady and allow a target to move past it.

The only reason I know that is because look inversion is always reset when I log in, so I always have to switch it on. The two are listed next to each other in the controls tab.

I see this used often, Kean__1, but I'm living under this rock here.... What does that abbreviation stand for, good sir?

That's brutal.

I hear ya man! There are definitely workarounds. I like the decay timer set to 16 days or so. 30 is a really long time-frame imo.
-
I like this, along with more options to craft make-shift shelters. Cutting pine branches, adding to large log after chopping a tree, camo-net plus sticks, a lean-to or something, tee-pee from furs, etc. The only problem is flooding the map with tons of new persistent objects slowing processing power. It's a nice dream, but the feature can be screwed with to derail server performance on purpose by those of us not using these items responsibly.

Proper MOONLIGHT is POSSIBLE! [VIDEO]
EzyStriderPS4 replied to 0.64 Freerider's topic in General Discussion
I must say, after reading this post and hoping for it to be a feature in the next update, I can confirm this: I was playing this morning before the 1.05 patch came out for us lowly console-ists, and I was looking at my compass during the night and noticed some movement of shadow. Sure enough, behind me was the full moon, visible through the trees. It was the tree casting a shadow on my compass. I could not see a shadow of my character on the ground because the background used in reference was extremely dark compared to the white surface of the gold compass when flipped open. Ergo, the moonlight was always there, we just couldn't see it. Haven't gone through night in 1.05 yet, so I am optimistic to see what the difference will be. -
I never noticed it affecting gameplay before, Pugman, so please don't assume this just because its console. Based on another player's comment about reaction to targets, it may be a new feature. I will confirm this when I go home and test different scenarios with it [ON] and with it [OFF]. I have been an extreme stickler for the Aim sensitivity so far on console. It has taken much of my attention and I will be able to recognize a difference. I will push through and let ya know what comes out on the other end.

I laughed so hard at the tape comment, Pugman.
