Think of armor as being able to absorb some of the damage received. It does not protect from high-caliber rounds doing what they are intended to do within the boundaries of the game. That thin sheet of metal the helm is made from wouldn't be as effective as a ballistics helmet. I've seen plate carriers absorb a slug, and a .308 round, without knocking the survivor unconscious. Both shots were very short range for their respective weapons (about 4m for slug, 28m for .308). Make sure ya double-tap them hard-plate reinforced vests boys and girls!

@SoundEnginar2 -Reducing... +Why with a Teddy bear? I'm not making a reasonable connection. -Guns... +Yes! Maybe animal leathers also? What about cutting a belt to re-purpose it? -It is... +Yes! -Complete removal... +I'm loving these NVGs, but will occasionally use flare or flashlight to conserve 9V supply. +I find it an important facet of tactical, military-style group operations/missions. +The light glitch with zoom and scopes at night is imperative to fix; very immersion-breaking. -More Zeds... +YES ! ! !

Bury a drybag with some gear in the SE/other common spawn zone of your preference.

General direction and bitter thoughts

My only comment is that, in my opinion, you are far too hyper-focused on firearms. Remember, guns aren't just meant to "PvP," they are also to be used for self-defense against aggressors. If you wish to be the aggressor, or a covert sniper, or any type of sociopath, then this game gives you that freedom: Go grab some military camo'd fatigues or other gear and have at it! But, please, do not push your personal vision onto everyone else. This is an infringement of player choice and in-game freedom. I personally enjoy all of the other elements of this game. I have fought off attackers, and killed in the name of self-preservation without provocation, but that's not all this game has to offer! -
I understand that the above quoted statement is 100% hypothetical. Do you? This isn't fact. Thanks for the laughs, and your sarcasm is not lost on me. I was hoping you would respond with something good... I'll keep waiting xD

Nothing good!

Broski, DayZ is a survival game. All that loot is actually fluff and fold. There are infected where you would find people (an airport, a town) because of biochemical warfare. You may be getting this game confused with Black Ops IV: Black Out mode.

Thank you for the update. This game has come so far in so little time! One suggestion for cars: to decrease griefing by other players, please try to make it that you will need to use tools to take parts off and also to attach them. I'm not sure how this could be implemented properly, but for example: Put wheel/tire on car, take out tire iron, there is an option to tighten the lug nuts and secure them to the car, any player wishing to remove a tire, now has to use a tire iron to loosen the lugs before wheel removal; example two: same type of scenario, but with the wrench and the radiator/sparkplug/doors/hood/trunk, and maybe a screwdriver for the battery? What do you guys think? Is there any use for motor oil right now?

I have encountered a bear in Chernarus. They are working, just rare.

Then you hear the howl of a wolf pack.....

They were doing server maintenance broski, check out their twitter feed. And the console update 1.06 post reflects the fix.

Freeze lag is tough to deal with, but it is also predictable to some degree. Whenever I drive, I make sure that I'm going slow enough around turns and have as much road as possible directly in front of me of shit happens. As soon as you get the lag spike, take your finger off the gas, and hit the brakes. And yes I've wrecked some cars, I've blacked out hitting a road sign at 80kmh, but never died going 30kmh down a hill.... Yes, there are lots of bugs right now, but it will get better. I'm going to trust in the process because I thoroughly enjoy the premise and mechanics of this game. Remember, the developers had to basically start from scratch a year or two ago when they created the new engine. That is a short timeframe for game development. Also I suspect that if your internet is less than 50-60 mbps, it causes more frequent lag spikes. I can't stress this enough, because it matters very much: Make sure your PS4 is plugged into your router or gateway with a physical CAT5e cable. Trust me.

Have patience, young Skywalker. The game is continually being developed and as features get introduced, new bugs will emerge. Give it time. I'm hopeful for the next year of updates.

Anyone know of any private med-high pop US vanilla servers?

You're complaining about others burying guns and hoarding loot, and just said this about your personal stash: Low-balling the math, even if half of those were mini dry sacks and the other half were wooden crates, that still equals 2100 storage space. Fourteen barrels... And yes, I would find them. But I won't be wasting my time. -
Best place to find small stones ?

Train tracks, trails, and the beach will all spawn small stones, sir. -

Yes, I have found four buried stashes. No, they are not easy to find. But I'm not complaining about it. -

I agree that those things should be available, but not the ARs. There is a reason that there are only 4 LARs and over 100 IJ-70s in the CLE. Also, I'm not trolling anyone, I'm trying to be honest. The CLE is a major portion of the game design and it is that way to create a specific landscape within each server. I'm not going to sit here and discuss all the nuances of this system. Just go read the wiki and then we can have an intelligent conversation about nominal counts, why there are so little of certain items, etc. Let me reiterate: YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO GETTING ALL THE BEST GUNS. And you don't even NEED guns to play this game!!! All of you complaining about the availability of ARs are taking a Battle Royale mindset into the server with you, when in fact, this game is so much more than just getting geared up and killing other geared players. That idea is literally less than 5% of this game. -
Now that's resourceful! And again, wouldn't be as effective as the gun kit.

My wish list for important fixes in order by necessity: 1) Invisible, non-registering bullets and glitching magazines. I'd rather not devote half my hotbar to magazines. 2) Inventory bugs and storage glitches that are alleviated only by server restarts. 3) Not being able to see player light sources when zooming. 4) Increased footwear durability and/or the addition of a new item condition between worn and pristine, such as "fair." 5) When an item is badly damaged, using a fixer item that is at 100% works normally. If, however, that fixer item is at 75% or below, the entire fixer item is used up. This makes no sense and seems to be glitched. Also, maybe give the leather sewing kit more uses because of its larger size...

Let me spell it out for you... Get a sledgehammer, or similar tool. With me so far? Go out searching for bases. Too scared? Grab a shovel. Look at the environment with a critical eye. Then ask yourself, "If I were an AR hoarding piece of shit, where would I hide it?" Here's an interesting bit of wisdom that could be metaphorically applied: "It's called fishing, not catching." Also, go check heli crash sites, that's where I have found all my ARs in the past.(Total of 3 since July 2019.) It's like you guys think that these High Tier weapons should be plentiful and readily available to every idiot running around. -

Also if you think that everyone is entitled to a similar experience, play CoD. -
@Brother Hao because footwear seems too gamey. Shoes get ruined over the course of approximately one day-night cycle (which is about 3 hours on vanilla). Once they get damaged, fixing them constantly gets tedious because of how very short a time the repair remains effective. As an example, duct tape is a universal fixing item, however, there are specialty items, such as the leather sewing kit. Furthermore, the tape uses 4 slots, and the leather kit 6. Imagine this: Duct tape will repair your shoes to worn, but if you use a leather sewing kit, the shoes would be repaired to fair, giving them greater durability. To me this type of system would justify certain item sizes, their effectiveness, and open up new avenues for item use in an intuitive way. Cough, gun cleaning kit, cough... Ever fix a gun with duct tape IRL ???

You guys aren't getting the idea of what the CLE is at all. What you are suggesting is similar to going to the museum with your own paint and brush, then painting your own shit over the artwork. Think about it. -

Central Loot Economy = CLE. It's a major part of the game's design, creating attrition and shortages. Riddle me this: If everything is in the ground or in bases, is it no longer retrievable? Now you can't run somewhere and just point and click, but have to become more resourceful. In an apocalypse, if you're late to the party, you don't get anything because there's no communist government rations waiting for you with your name on it. "Oh, let's just politely loot this and leave something for the next guy," said no one, ever. P.S. You are not entitled to getting any good stuff. Or anything at all for that matter.
