Well done, cherry pick one line from my post and take it out of context. Are you telling me you think it should be released as a full game? Because a quick scroll through these forums would suggest it is far from what anyone who buys games in stores would consider finished. Yes some of the community are more into the alpha and beta or early access games but this isn't marketed as such. I think I've made it pretty clear what my problem with BI is, but to simplify it for you. DayZ has become a cash cow, the development is more marketing than creating a finished product. BI will use it as a cash grab, then more than likely funnel said funds into DayZ 2 or some such. I hope I'm wrong.

Well the 1.05 update seems to be as wonderful as expected. Once again, if you are a new player do your research. Many of us have come to the game at various stages of development and used that as an excuse or reason to justify the poor state of the game. There is no excuse! Resources are spent on new features, new platform releases, A NEW MAP! Yet, as it is, the game itself is so flawed at its core that anything added just serves to create another layer of issues. And to top it off BI are now releasing the game in stores? I thought Dean Hall was the problem for a long time but I'm thinking now that he never had a chance when a part of Bohemia. Sorry that this turned into a rant post but I personally believe the forums should be filled with posts like this.

It seems you all agree it's a mess but it's that way for a reason so that's OK. Except for @generalmayhem who says it is flawless! And @IMT, your playing a mod, only helping to prove my point about console being grossly over priced and under developed. Hopefully new comers can read these posts and have a little more understanding about what it is they are buying.

All you've done is justify the way it is and call me a liar. There may be valid reason's, that's not the point of this thread. My info is off memory and how I have felt so there may be some inaccuracy, I have admitted that. But it's not far off! The point is there's too many people buying the game only to be disappointed. You say It's better but that is such a general statement, what can a new player take from that? Come on guy's, give people a fair idea of what Dayz is instead of trying to justify why Dayz is.

Ok I was wrong about the time frame but you guys are plain cherry picking info here. I mean "infusion" is not where this all began and if that's where they are counting from then that's a cop out to everyone who listened to the crap Dean and BI sprouted before the "infusion". And spent money, so no that's not the start of it. Fault of the console. Well that's true but never the less it takes away from what will add to, and ultimately be, the building blocks of the Dayz experiences all veterans have had. It won't compare. I'm just trying to give some of these people some insight into what the road ahead will be like. I could care less about where you want to lay blame or justify the progress. I've played since the early days of the mod, before Dayz commander or any of the more streamlined launchers. I know exactly what has happened over the years. Regardless of the validity of the excuse, or the reason for the snail like development progress, it is still slow. The game and what it was meant to be, has changed drastically and seems will continue to do so as BI learn the limits of what they are capable of. It's also not going to be any different in the foreseeable future for DayZ. It's Bohemia's signature move to half finish things and then open the mod tools to all, which is great, I love it personally. But there's no way console will be getting mods, that's why I say they will miss out on features. Modding is a feature. I'm sorry if this has come off as attacking or aggressive but I've watched so many come and go due to having the wrong idea of what they are getting into. Every step in DayZ, every expectation, should be tempered by a healthy understanding of the inevitable dissapointment that will come further down the track. Like the game itself my opinion is harsh and unforgiving. In saying that, I'm here to stay.

Such as? edit. A quick Google Search has shown 10 years is inaccurate. My apologies.

This game is unfinished at best. I say this because after the first few hours you will realise the sheer amount of bugs and poorly implemented (or not at all) features begin to make the game less playable and enjoyable. Development is slow at best. Although only just released on console the game itself has been in development for what must be 10 years by now. Most of the game is from Arma 2 and one of its expansions so we're talking 10 years of modding which has resulted in a unique yet terrible game. Your on console, you will never have what most of the you tubers have as they are all on PC. This is a big one as all console players are hopeful they will get all of the PC features and the quality. You Won't, ever. These are just a few disclaimers of many I would like to list. In an effort to educate some new comers as to what they are spending their money on. I would describe this best as being an opportunity to become a game tester, but you pay to test and report on what is broken. On a positive note this game (mainly on PC) has provided some of the most unique and fulfilling experiences I have had on a game to date. Console has had its moments but the local chat and some of the general controls will always limit what you can do. For example, you cannot be in a party, talking to your friends and also be able to approach someone in game and talk to them, it's either one or the other. Which is ridiculous. So be aware what your hard earned money will be going towards.

@Dancedwithlions Just relax mate, no need for that kind of language. We all know it's a bit too dark. Is it a really high priority? I doubt it, lots of other stuff to worry about first. @Zwoozh It really does only last an hour. And having a glow stick on doesn't paint you as a large target, it's also not visible through scopes so you could be quite safe. I get it, but before you despair, try to have a few night time adventures. Due to the fact no one likes night you may find slot more gear. Have you tried navigating using the stars? Have you made a torch out of wood and rags? The night is beautiful in Days, once nvg's are common and there are 24/7 daytime servers the game loses that charm.

Not yet, and I've been playing since the early days of the arms 2 mod on PC.

These are 2 of the most annoying bugs. Personally I would rather no new content for 12 months and have them focus on the quality of life improvements. Trying to compile a simple list of these improvements, things like having the ability to turn a head torch on/off while on your head etc.

Better than having server hoppers and supers. Just pick a different server and live there instead. Maybe a less popular one.

Well that's entirely up to you.

I'm enjoying the new update. Honestly, as long as duping is a lot less of a problem, then I'll be happy. Which appears to be the case. As for performance, I would suggest running at lower resolution with super sampling off. Dayz will improve performance wise, that I have no doubt of, you guys should have seen this thing when it was first released on PC. The devs have truly accomplished alot. Unfortunately (for them), the scope of the game is absolutely gigantic and as such all of their efforts are over shadowed by the games short comings. So wait, be patient, make the most of it. If possible try to make your complaints clear and accurate, instead of just saying its dissapointing.

The Olga (and probably all vehicles), seem to suffer from desync when approaching building/towns. What happens is the game basically freezes, sometimes it stutters and I can get on the brake quick enough to avoid anything too serious. While I'm frozen and can't control anything, my car and occupants are coasting onward. It seems to me that the game is trying to load every detail, and while travelling at 30 or more km/h it's too much and causes as desync/lag/freezing episode. Would it be possible to tell the game to not load/render loot or building interiors and perhaps even dial down textures. Only while driving. Cars are a glorious achievement I would love to see them working a little better. Thanks
