Auto run is a rubber band around the controller for my ps4 and a pocket knife balanced on my keyboard for PC.
I have no idea why devs would be against auto run but I will always find a way, even if I have to employ one of my kids to do it. Haha
I agree that would be useful but is running and moving things around in your backpack realistic?
Perhaps a very slow walk as you move items around but the bigger problem is the unfortunate fact that nothing stays where you put it.
It's not really a problem as such.
This has been present since arms 2 and I think it's trying to emulate the way your eyes adjust to light as well.
For example when you cup your hand above your eyes to shield them from the sun. This makes things easier to see.
So looking down and away from the bright sky is the games version of shielding your eyes.
Personally I think it works well as I have used this mechanic in gun fights to my advantage and also recognized when I may be at a disadvantage.
Could be wrong but this is what I have always believed for many years.

Hey mate.
That server is gone just as mine is.
In another post I made on the ps4 forum, I was told a few servers had technical difficulties and a decision was made to remove them completely.
I completely understand that these issues occur. However not giving anyone a chance to grab some of their gear is pretty poor.
Please in future allow a window of opportunity to get some of our things.
Perhaps you could have a couple servers that rotate databases.
Also. should we assume that this could happen to any server at any time?
I hate to get invested in a server as if it's my home only to have it taken away.
This type of issue will also cause everyone huge problems with the 1.04 server hopping changes.
Thanks for the quick response too.

Personally, all if the points mentioned here aren't vital parts if gameplay. Resources shouldn't be spent fixing insignificant aspects like log amounts and animations.
Base building can be a fun hobby but holds no true value at this point. Even the mods on PC (epoch for example), did base building quite well. Yet it added very little to the core aspects of the game. Like survival and player interaction. Instead it gave loot hoarders a place to collect loot and in turn ruin server performance etc. That's why at its core Dayz is not a base building game. Make a stash as best you can and use that.
Maybe one day you can do a walking dead style base camp but thats starting to become a different game entirely in NY opinion.

NY 2846 has also disappeared.
Issues do occur and it happens in other games too. I'm sure we can all understand that.
However, some effort needs to be put in to notify players as to whether or not these servers are gone completely or if they are down due to an unforseen issue.
What happened to NY 2846? It's been gone for 4 days now.
I can't see an issue with taking servers down, as long as some effort is put into letting players know.
