Something they said on their little content creator weekend, they aren’t even thinking about, a 2… so this is the only option, I know people who want this to become a thing on both sides of consoles. So I am going to try, that’s all we do.

ouch, I didn't know that. Yeah, that should not be in the game! Talk about not only identifying who your shooter is but also giving away their position. Come on Bohemia, get rid of that! Makes me glad I have an Xbox and don’t have to deal with that nonsense… I just wish DayZ console could be cross play and I don’t see why it can’t when other games have it.

I have to disagree, that’s something about PlayStation I wish they would take away. It takes away from the anonymity of encounters, then you just have a voice to go off when looking for said person.

Let’s just start off by saying this topic would NOT apply for pc.. I am talking solely console here. Have it be an option maybe that you could turn on if you want to have cross play enabled, or off if you want to stick to solely your platform. I have friends who have DayZ just opposite platform from me, and to think of roaming the lands with them just makes me wonder why not? Why can’t console be cross play? Console users kind of get the raw end of the deal, we get that. If this became a reality though, it would just make the lands become that much more dangerous and unpredictable.

Just as the title says, we should be able to roam the lands with our brothers (or sisters) from the other console. I totally get why PC isn’t included, which is fine. They have mods and whatnot, they’re not a part of this conversation. I want to know why can’t there be cross platform between consoles? I have friends who play on PlayStation (I have a Xbox) that I would love to be able to play DayZ with. So why not? What’s the hold up?

No crap! Which is why I presented the scenario that I did. I want to make sure if I spend the time and build a base I don’t have to worry about some asshat spawning inside it..

I’m not ImpulZ so I can’t promise this is how it will be, but from what I read there will be multiple spots that server hoppers will get thrown into. So you might be able to camp at one of them, but you’re just taking a gamble that someone will end up there. You could spend hours camping away and never see anyone show up. So I don’t think people will try to camp at those spots.. unless they truly have NO life, then they might..

@ImpulZ You were just the person I was hoping would respond to this! that’s unfortunate to hear about the character creation. Fingers crossed for the future then.. until then I will just keep suiciding people I don’t like. onto the second part, okay good! That was something I thought of and could have ruined base building. So I’m glad that’s the case.. but that also leads me to ask, if I have 2 characters (say 1 for regular play, and 1 for private RP servers) would I just have to deal with the fact that I’m gonna be thrown into random locations then? I personally don’t care, because I love this game! Just trying to get an idea how this is going to work.

Okay, so according to everything I have read and watched regarding the future update it sounds like we will be on par with the PC. So does that mean we will finally have access to character customization?? Because I would rather make someone I want to play as, as opposed to the random characters we get now.. onto my concern, this has to do with server hopping. I know, if you do it you get thrown in a whole new spot miles away.. but hear me out and follow along if you can. Because I might have found a hole in this.. let’s say i am in Server A, I find a base. So I server hop into Server B. It puts me at some random spot, no big deal. I make my way back INTO where the base would be at in Server A. I log out.. go do some things, thus killing a couple hours. I come back, log into Server A again. Now keep in mind, it’s been hours since I’ve played last. Would it then put me inside the base at Server A or a random location again?

So out of curiosity, would anyone be interested in trying to schedule some kind of “event” for this weekend? I know it’s very last minute, but why not try? I always enjoyed checking out the YT videos of prison breaks.. guards vs cons, situation. Doesn’t have to be THAT but that was just spitballing an idea. If we can get enough people, pick a server in particular. Bum Rush our spot (in my scenario, Prison Island) do a sweep. Set up, and have at it.. like I said, I know it’s very last minute but some of the best times could be had with little to no planning time.

You must not come on here often. I have seen quite a few threads about that, and I am very new on this forum.. I will say this when I play, and I don’t have a dedicated server so I kind of bounce around, I have yet to see these “tent cities” people talk about filled with tons of gear for PvP. Well, outside of YouTube videos.. I have seen scattered tents and sea chests all over though.

I got into a massive argument with this over a friend.. we were in a party chat, both playing DayZ then out of no where he starts cussing saying how he’s done with this game cause he just died out of no where. I told him he probably got shot in the head, which then he argued with me over. “I didn’t hear anything! No gun shot, nothing!!” and that made me laugh at him, which probably pissed him off more. After bickering back and forth for quite some time I eventually said “If I were to walk up behind you and shoot you in the back of the head, would you hear it?” him not responding and just leaving the party chat made it pretty clear, he knew I was right.. HaHa!
