    Any Dayz Origins servers up?

    Does anyone know if every Origins server has it's own private hive, or do clusters share hive but each cluster has it's own (by cluster i mean UK 1,2,3 etc INT 1,2,3 etc), i haven't rly been tracking it but i spawn where i left of on some servers and get new spawn on others. Can someone confirm/deny this or point me into what's rly up :)
  2. This is a question for devs and/or Rocket himself. I've had trouble with low performance with arma2, although more with dayz itself. Anyways my computer should run it at max fps no problem (i run dota2 with just few tweaks at 50-60 fps in animation heavy teamfights). But due to my ATI Radeon (HD 6770) card my computer struggles with dayz at 25-40 fps on pretty minimal settings, no postprocessing, low terrain, low objects etc. i've also read on many forums and websites that Radeon users generally have more performance issues then Nvida users or others (i.e. My friend who has much slower comp then mine, but has nvidia card and runs game on same specs as me has 10-15 fps more. Anyway my question is will this be addressed in standalone, since there is obviously some incompatibility with Radeon cards. [TL/DR] Have radeon card, trouble with fps in dayz, want to know if it will be addressed in SA
  3. I seriously can't understand, how you manage to break something even more in fix patch... My textures used to glitch only near Balota camp (dead soldiers on the road) and in Stary Sobor camp (again dead soldiers in the camp), now my game also glitches in Cherno and Elektro (didn't go anywhere else since patch came out). Why don't you just roll back textures to patch they worked in, and actually test patches on minor group before releasing it to public. Although you can hide behind Alpha, there are now million players, and i've never heard of an open alpha with million players. Why don't you just use Dota model. there is normal stable patch for people who wanna play normally, and there is a test patch for people who want to be testers. I think there is more then 50-100k rocket fun boys who would lick your dingleberries let alone test a new patch.

    What is considered out of bounds?

    dayzdb.com map doesn't show whole map it lacks about 5% of it, when you go out of that area there is a thick black line running through the field which marks the end of map.
  5. Vehicles, tents and traps don't respawn on server restart unless they are destroyed (vechicles). But you have to save them when you find/place them so that hive would remember them, even if you drive around in a vechicle and you don't click save it will disappear when server restarts (happened to me). I guess it's same with tents.
  6. Once again my spawn bugged this time though i was caught up in server restart. I was on the field next to NW airfield, and when i logged back i was in fking Cherno, Rocket pls oh pretty pls fix bugs before you go out making bear traps and shit like that....
  7. Ok, new bug, or what ever the fuck happened. My friends and I are running through mountains, suddenly we hear shot fired, then shots thorough glass, after that i turn to military zombie and lose control of my character so i dc, shooting stops after i dc, then my friends dc, we wait to see if server will go empty, because we suspected a hacker, server is still full, so we go back and they spawn in a stun. And none is shooting at them, i also spawned in stun, like we dced from aggroed zombies. Also we spawned few about 500-600m behind the place it all happened.
  8. Are ghillie suits removed from loot tables in 1.7.2.3 ? I haven't managed to find any, i know they're are low drop chance, but still before this patch i managed to find it once in a while... Is is it just my bad luck or they're removed?
  9. I had very strange bug, I loged out in forest outside Cherno, and when i reloged i was in Prigodka, with all my gear, nothing lost, same blood level, everything, except my location, i tried reloging, changing server, nothing worked. I was never near Prigodka with this character....

    Build 1.7.2 Rolling Update

    I still can't see the problem some people have with respawn... How does it change your game or game at all, other then you've been in firefight where you killed but also got killed and the other guy got good spawn sooner and looted you, so you're now frustrated. First of all if you wanna play with friends respawn is absolutely necessary, since someone can spawn in let's say quarry and other in Kamenka so it would take them about 20-30 minutes to meet up, given that none is killed. Not to mention spawns in debug forest, inside the texture in Novy Sobot, etc. And even if you removed respawn button, all someone needs to do is find a nearest group of zombies and let them kill him/her so you got a minor inconvenience and that's it. But a major inconvenience if someone spawns in debug or something like that. I support disabling dc idea of some kind, however that's a bit fucked up... since there are no safe areas like in WoW or other MMO's. So lets say this timer is 20 secs, and you're sitting in the forest and suddenly some people come along and kill you cause you had to wait.... Someone mentioned disabling alf+f4, that could work in some situations, like on open ground where you don't have time to go to menu and click abort, on the other hand in a forest or city you can hide somewhere for long enough to do that. As for not being able to join a server for some time that's just retarded, since servers are unstable, some of them have mass fps lags after some times etc, others don't have correct time zones, so you enter and boom there you are in the middle of the night without NVG on server full of people with NVGs. There are many legit instances in which you need to swap servers and i don't think majority of fair players should be punished for a low percentage of server hoppers. On the other hand some minor wait for returning to same server would be ok, like minute or two, to stop doctor Whoing. And again, although it's annoying, i don't want to lose my equipment and hours of gameplay cause of few douche-bags who dc in firefights. Even if electricity downs are rare, some other situations aren't like my cat pushing my router of the shell etc. I don't know if it is possible to implement some mechanic relevant to gun fire, like if a bullet hit someowhere in an area let's say of 10-20m around you, you can't dc for minute or two. Again i don't know anything about game development so i don't really know if this could be implemented and how hard it would be.

  12. Jack Dant covered most of my points very well so i'll just explain what he didn't. First of all if you had read my post thoroughly you would seen that i also stated that big part of that thrill is possibility of being killed. Since it's perma-death. You don't get that thrill in other games in which you respawn in even better state than you use to be (health, ammo etc.). Second, Thrill also comes from outsmarting a human, or outplaying him/her. I really don't feel threatened by zombies, since they are retarded and predictable. I died from zombies for 2 reasons so far: Bugs/glitches, or getting shot by some player and then eaten by zombie. So i don't really get that thrill from zombies (i did at first since it was something new and exciting), now they're just a nusence. Survival is too easy, as Jack Dant said get a hatchet, knife, matches and water bottle and you're golden. This can be achieved in about 30 mins tops unless you don't have luck with spawns, but anyhow hour of gameplay at the most. So survival from thrist, hunger and zombies is not really hard. This brings me to my point, one and ONLY thing that seriously threatens your survival are players. Can you see where my thrill comes from now? I don't know how old are you, and how many games you played and how long do you play games. But i'm 25, i play video games for at least 15 years and had played hundreds of them, and after all that, AI really doesn't stand chance. Only thing that still thrills me in games is outplaying people or good story. Again i must refer to something Jack already said, and that's "sandbox game". One of the best things about this game is that it gives so much possibility for meta-gaming, in other words you can make what you want of it. If you want survival you can sit in woods, if you like to kill people you can be a bandit, if you are a munchkin you can put a tent in forest and hoard all your "preciosess" in there... Besides all this, there also that other point lot of people made, only if i kill someone i can be sure that they wont kill me. To sum it up. Killing and dying in DayZ is pretty much closest thing to somewhat real feel you can get from video game. Only place where i felt same kind of thrill is playing paintball. And that's why i kill.
  13. I shoot people for one reason, it gives me the thrill, not the kill itself but the hunt, and the danger of actually getting killed. I never use snipers cause they don't give me that thrill. Honestly when i see another player and start shooting or he starts shooting at me, or we chase each other around the city, forest or any place my heart really pumps up. It's kinda like paintball sort of thrill if you ever played. And i have to agree with some people here, to declare that something isn't point of this mod is kinda... i don't wanna say stupid cause i don't want to offend you but i don't have better word for it. Whole beauty of this mod is that you can make whatever you want from it... Survival, FPS, Teamplay, Soloplay what ever you want. And about Rocket not saying anything but vague stuff about meta-gaming: "I posted in a thread that was talking about that, that META-GAMING is explicitly allowed. I.e. infiltrating teamspeak servers and groups etc..." << see how he points out infiltrating teamspeak servers and groups, why would you do that if not to kill people? This is from the topic about dcing to avoid death.

    And finally we get to the root of your whining... Again, what does it bother you if you play alone and play the game for "scavenging". If you don't care about your equipment and nothing more than the thrill of playing. Why does it bother you that people in the group practically don't lose their equipment? If you're not a munchkin as you claim not to be how does this situation affect you? Have you seen the front page of the website? Scavange > Slay > SURVIVE Getting equipment is easy, surviving with it for as long as possible is the true goal of the game. If you start from some major city or just a village that has few high yield barns like prygodka you can get pretty much all equipment you need in about 30-45 mins if you're lucky in a way that it wasn't just looted. And again, if someone likes to get geared up quickly and respawn close to their body, why does it bother you? It doesn't affect your game a bit.

    Still, none of "respawn whiners" had stated any reasons how respawn affects their game or game at all. You can still have all your "hard, unforgiving game" and all the other bs u mentioned, and normal people can still meet up and have a nice game with their friends, and everyone is happy. I don't think loot should be more evenly spread since that wouldn't make much sense, but just let people spawn where they want. Again as none has provided any real reason how this is affecting game i can only conclude that they are a bunch of frustrated little mommas basement trolls who can't stand people respawning quickly and re-killing them while they still loot their bodies...

    If you had acctually read my post with some brain cells turned on, you would see answer to all you questions, and you gave some yourself. 1. One of major resons (not the only one) people respawn like crazy is to meet up with friends. And that how my post is relevant to the topic. 2. You say it's not fair for independent players to run onto organized group, and then in next sentence you say "it's a survival game" and at the end "DayZ is designed to be unforgiving", and what is more survivalistic and unforgiving in the same way then running and hiding from the group of organized people? Running away and bugging up zombies in buildings? Is that so hard for you? 3. I don't have trouble reading maps, and finding way, i fact i do it very well, regardles of that trip from NE of the map to S-SW of the map lasts about 30-45 minutes depending on the circumstances. And if me and my friends were a bunch of nolifers who can play this 8h it wouldn't be a problem, since we're not and moslty play 2-3h max, losing 40 minutes (given someone is not killed during that time and spawned back again at quarry or something like that) is a lot. 4. And please stop the BS about valuing your life more. All you people who whine about this, and PKing need to grow the fuck up and stop yanking moms skirt (in this case rocket's) to protect you from the evil boys at the yard. You aks of me to explain my views on this topic, and then again you never stated how this affects your, or gameplay in general? Why do you care if someone respawns 30x? Unless you got frustrated from people killing and you killing them and them getting better spawn and runing down to loot you faster and you couldn't make it in time... If someone likes to spawn in Cherno and play cat/mice game with other players so be it. If someone likes to sit whole day at a hill with a sniper so be it, that's the beauty of this game everyone can make it to suit their play style. If you like to play pvp you go to Eektro, if you like to run around forests you run around forests. And all this BS about realism, once you have option to resurrect talks about realism should kinda stop. It acctually doesn't someone from dev team said on reddit or somewhere that they filter those out,i guess they don't count deaths that happen in less then a minute or so. And timer wouldn't solve anything, Since you can always run at 10 zombies and get killed. So only thing it does, is giving people who respawn a bore of 1 min to find zombies to get killed.

    Another "forever alone" thread, and what about us who acctually have friends playing this game? For instance i spawn in Solnichniy and my friend spawns in Kamenka, it would took about 2 hours to meet, given that we are not killed somewhere in between. It's much better to respawn, then to have party system, since party system would really kill some aspects of the game. On the other hand, game is still pretty bugged up, i died a while ago while crouch walking and aggroing zed through building, he then run through the texture of the building, broke my leg in an instant, and somehow 3-4 more zeds came at that second without a bullet fired. Kamenka is fine spawn cause of the deer stands, but most of small spanws have too small danger/reward ratio now that you don't start with gun, so ppl woud still run to Cherno and Elektro, only thing that would change is that they would be forced to lose 15-20 minutes of their game. If you don't want to respawn don't do it, let people play the game the way they want. And fking get some friends in life.

    Option to nerf PvP?

    @doublewar - you whine about people not listening and not giving "useful suggestions" for improving the game, and on the other hand you're doing the same. Someone who comes with opinion that nerfing pvp is stupid, and it would kill more then half the thrill of the game is offering useful suggestion and fighting to improve, or better said keep the game good as it is. You and other "nerf the pvp" are suggesting something that would actually ruin this game. Look at it this way: There is a zombie apocalypse, no authorities, no laws, your only goal is to survive. What do you do? You either find a group of friends and trustworthy people and go with them, or go alone and trust none. Then you're, thirsty and starving and find someone who has everything, and you can either risk of him killing you or you can kill him, what do you do? This is suppose to be a zombie apocalypse simulation of some sort, and in real life scenario you would also more likely face more threat from people then zombies, since zombies are by all books and movies pretty retarded, and even strong ones (like the ones represented in 28 days later or Zombieland) are rather easy to trick and kill. You have in-game voice chat which gives you option to talk to people and try to negotiate a truce with them, on the other hand would you trust a guy that says "i'm friendly" many people got shot in the back for that, and that's GREAT, since it simulates what might very easy happen in real life situation. Anyway, take out or nerf pvp, and you've turned it into a single player game, since you don't really need help with surviving zombies, if there is none shooting at you you can just crawl when there are many zombies and not be afraid. Or stand on high ground with your enfield or an AK and kill half the zombies in town and go scavange freely. The best thing in this game is that you have to balance between threat from zombies and threat from people, you wont crawl trough city since it makes you an easy target, you try as much you can not to aggro a zombie since it will attract attention to you and nearby sniper might kill you.... Take that out and you just have game where you sneak around and shoot zombies, and as someone mentioned it's very hard to make good AI, since real AI doesn't really exist, you can only implement so many behavior types on an NPC, but you will always be able to outsmart him since you have ability to THINK, Outhinking humans on the other hand is much harder. On the other hand i am totally on board with suggestions for awarding teamplay in some way. But not in a way that you can switch off friendly fire, i love the realism of not knowing who is who in a team fight, shooting my mates by mistake, it's awesome since it simulates real chaos that would happen in someone started shooting at you. Implementing some mechanics like blood bags, that promote team play would be nice, so long as they promote it and not force it.

    Revamp of food/drink system

    I like the idea of steering the game on more of a survival track. And those are some nice ideas you suggested, but i also think food should be more scarce, now canned food drops like crazy, and there are too many animals, you just venture up from town to the field and if you have knife and matches you're good to go. I don't think knife and matches should be rarer, because that's just retarded since those are some pretty common items, rather have less animals, and less food. As far as drinks are concerned maybe add a little more realism to it. What i mean: You can relieve thirst by drinking a soda, but you can't relieve dehydration by drinking a soda, since it will heighten your blood glucose levels, so glucose would start to excrete through kidneys and "pulls" water with it. Especially coke and pepsi which additionally to sugar contain caffeine which broadens kidney blood vessels and stimulates heart to pump more blood, all of which results in higher blood perfusion in kidneys which directly results in creating more urine. Anyway back to suggestion: Let coke and pepsi relieve thirst for a while, but let water be only thing that actually helps you with dehydration. And also they could add mineral water to be found as an item like pepsi and coke so it could also help with dehydration. On the other hand they could add fatigue to the game and have pepsi and coke help with that, since they contain high doses of sugar and caffeine and do in fact help with fatigue. Sorry if some sentences don't make much sense in English, is not my primary language.
  20. Me and my mate entered this sever and were kicked for no reason, most people on the server have same tag in front of nickname so i guess it's a clan gearing up on an empty server... there were like 10 ppl online.

I have perfomance issues with dayz My specs: ATI Radeon HD 6770 1gb ddr5 i3 3.1ghz 8gb ddr3 Anyways with this specs i should be able to run it in full, but i can't get more than 40fps with all on high, except hdr which is normal, antialiasing low, post processing disabled, and shadows on low-normal. Latest ati catalyst windows 7 64bit Any suggestions?

    Seriously? And what are you trying to survive from? Retarded zombies, who you can bug up if you're in town very easy, or just shoot in the face if you're far from town? Or surviving hunger and thirst in game where there is a can of soda or beans, knife, matches and animals pretty much everywhere? Don't get me wrong i love these survival aspects but without other players to worry about they would just be too easy. Game would be first of all boring, and very very easy without PvP. I had thrill in hiding and running from zombies in 1.6 and first few days of playing. After that you realize that there is no point, now the only reason i sneak past zombies and avoid shooting them is not to give out my position to players. Cause without it you only have a bit harder zombie shooter. IMO game would be even more interesting if there where more players and fewer but very hardcore zombies, so you're actually afraid of aggroing them since they could easily kill, or infect you etc. This would maybe get people to gather into groups more since it would be very likely that you would encounter another group. Yeah one more thing, there are "friendly" servers i played on couple of them, and people really don't shoot at each other, I had a "mexican stand off" with one guy but after 30secs of none shooting we just went our ways... I think sever was called League of Extraordinary Gentleman or something like that.

    Performance issues

    Human eye can't, but this isn't real fps, and you certainly feel difference between 30-50 especially in a shoot out. Well i play with a mate and he has 2-3 years old comp which has much worse specs and we now run it on same settings and he still has better fps than me...
