Weapon spawn balance, weapon cleaning, military gear meta, gameplay stuff

Hi! Kinda new here, so don't offend me too much 😄 Weapon spawns: Don't you think that weapons in Chernarus is quite wide-spread? Shotguns and hunting rifles lying everywhere, literally in every house. My idea is rebalance weapon economy, while weapons spawning at the same amount, but in different places, so it's getting more difficult to find a gun (for instance, there are spawning 20 Mosin rifles in 500 places. With rebalance there will be 20 rifles in 800 places), so chances are slightly recuded. Where i can find a gun now? Weapon stashes: How do you guys often run in forests? Chernarus is a place of former civil war, back in 2009 (ARMA--verse), featuring NAPA and ChDKZ militants, that often used forests for making bases and weapon stashes. You can find stashes, dig them out and have some damaged medium-grade military and civillian weapons, such as AK, SKS, Mosin, IJ70. Stashes will work exactly like a helicrashes, with dynamic spawns, about 10 caches on server with 100 possible locations on the map, so it will be great to find stuff not only in towns and bases, but also in forests. Also WW2 echo can be implemented - soviet partisan's weapon caches, dug deeply in boxes and barrels, containing PU scopes, bayonets, ammo, Mosin rifles, and maybe even something new (please, add TT-33, PPSh-41 and SVT-40. Nice weapons for Chernarus, that could be exclusive for stashes) Armory: Weapons, that spawning in barracks - nonsense. Barracks are needed for soldiers to sleep and rest, but not keep their personal weapons. There are special place for weapons: armory. Instead of everything, barracks must offer only clothes and gear - i suggest to cut ammo and weapon spawn in half or more. This half will be spawning in various armories and depots, that should be opened with key, or hacksaw. Keys could be rarely found from infected officers, or in military structures (ATC tower, command center, officer's barracks "CHU"). Ammo boxes and gun cabinets are required to be opened with crowbar or axe. Tisy military base: What makes far small base unique? Tisy base can be a supply of rare weapons (from helicrashes). I don't want to go far away and find there SKS or AKM (found only one in this month), i want to find there something special, otherwise, i can stay in NWAF, or even on checkpoint near Severograd (found there few SKS rifles). I suggest to make rare spawn of helicrash weapons (VSS, FAL, SVD and other stuff) in Tisy. Small amount of special weapon would greatly fit the game by gameplay and lore. Imagine that UN (AN in game) forces, armed with AUGs and FALs are deployed in Tisy, closer to the Russian borders... they're gone, so you can pick up what's left. --- I think all these changes would make gameplay more interesting. In order to find a decent firearm, you have to search, to cooperate and survive with others, instead of coming in house and coming out with guns, randomly killing people. Well, if not... then it's just an idea and nothing more. Weapon cleaning: Small gameplay additions, that making game more deep. Cleaning kits and every repair kit is a trash. I don't need to carry with me kilos and squares of inches in my bag, if i've got duct tape. Come on, it's infinite! It can repair everything! Nonsense. Especially when you repair badly damaged gun with it. I suggest duct tape repair only badly damaged stuff up to damaged. Except guns. You can't repair any gun with it. Also please fix infinite duct tape bug (taping yourself causes replenishing of tape). Bingo! Repair kits are valuable now. But... i have not kit, and my gun is really damaged, also there are someone on my trail, trying to kill me. What i've got to do? Combine rags and motor oil! Seriously, it can clean your gun. Proven by me IRL. Military gear: Being the best choice all time? DayZ has great amount of clothes and gear to survive in Chernarus. But in many situations military stuff is the best, ruining all civvie stuff. I divide all clothes and stuff by these grades (from lowest to higher): Civilian (jeans, t-shirt, athletic shoes) Sports (tracksuit pants, tracksuit jacket, running shoes) Worker (cargo pants, shirt, boots) Hiker (hiking pants, hiking jacket, hiking boots, hiking backpack/mountain backpack) Hunter (hunter pants, hunter jacket, hunter boots, hunter backpack) Military (tacticool stuff) Military grade beats every previous grade. It's quite logical, but from gameplay side it's bad. Military has no downsides. I suggest every grade offer their abilities: civilian is the standard, sports lets run faster/longer a bit, worker is high-capacity/durable, hiker is balanced between all, hunter is easier to find, than the military. Please fix body armor weight (plate carrier weights 24 kg), IRL it's about 8.5 kg (LBT with ESAPI plates and side inserts), or 7.1 kg (LBT with SAPI plates and side inserts). Handheld radio also needs to be fixed - weights 5 kg with 9v battery, IRL (once i've got russian one) aprox. 500gr. More bodyarmour options: Your second chance. Having in game only anti-stab and platecarriers is quite sad. Add more options, please. Do you remember CDF (Chernarus Defence Forces), how they looked in ARMA 2? PASGT helmets, old soviet bodyarmours, combat uniform... old bodyarmours! I don't really know, but CDF's type is a soviet 6B3 (6Б3). It works the best against shrapnel and frags due it's bigger area of coverage, when platecarrier will protect best against bullets. You have to choose: to be bulletproof, to be explosiveproof, or carry more stuff. Great! Watch: Just to know, when the nightmare ends. Really, DayZ lacks watches. That's all. Supression?.. (maybe already suggested, sorry) Suppressive fire! To be honest, it's very controversial. Week ago i've "met" guy in NWAF. He shot me in back with Mosin and i've began to return fire. Looks like, his accuracy have not been affected. He shot me in the head, despite of half UMP mag shot in his direction. This thing needs to be discussed, but my view of this mechanic - like in ARMA 2/3, where the screen shakes, hands are tremble, vision becoming tunnel and blurry. Medicine: Do no harm I've got shot in my hip, i'm bleeding. Just gonna use rags and i'll be ok in 2 minutes, when blood regenerates. No more of that! If you shot in the hip, it's more likely you gonna die from severe blood loss in few minutes. Add Tourniquets for fast appliance in combat/stop huge blood loss. Bandages can soak with blood, or be ineffective, if wet already. Also you've got to change them every... hour? I'm not a medic tho... but it's sounds challenging and realistic. Don't forget about infections from damaged rags or infected hits/bullets, or old bandages. This system makes sense to use spray and tincture (add wet wipes). Damaged limbs, please? I hate when you hit someone's leg and he's still running like a Usain, or guy with three holes in hand shooting like a Kyle. Mushrooms and berries, cooking. Chernarus' kitchen: roasted human steak, mashed potatoes. YUMMY, HE-HE! (laughs kuru) Ability to cook is quite useless in this game. I can go and eat raw mushroom, find soda and can of beans. No problem. I suggest to cut supply of canned food in game a little, so people will hunt and search for mushrooms more often. Also add poisoning from eating raw mushrooms and make berries spawn already. If i cook on stick, shouldn't food get burned? Add 20% chance of food getting burn, while cooking on stick. Bandits, KoS, how to determine bad guys? Can i trust you? You can't see, who are in your scope. Is he wants to kill you and get your stuff, or maybe he's friendly and wants to trade? Nobody knows for sure and it's great!.. or not? Develop punish/designating mechanism for those, who kills many people, like kuru (prion disease, getting sick from eating human meat). Should the game determine was it a self-defence, or direct offence? No. You killed a man. You're getting mad. How you can live with it? You find yourself comfortable in killing others. Your mental state is shattered. If you don't want to laugh, cry and scream, you must to avoid killing at all. If you're already, you can wait for cooldown, or help others (sharing food, ammo, helping with infected and medicine), to become hero (yeah, DayZ mod system was great, to be honest). But i don't really think, that DayZ needs that. Everyone can choose, who is he, everyone writing his own story - this system is just a attempt to prevent Kill on Sight (KoS). Perks: Jack of all trades. I can build fence, but i can't build a gate. Then i'm going to search for books. Passive perks, that concern about base building, car maintenance, gun handling and repairing stuff can be earned through reading different books. Imagine yourself sitting near a fireplace, meat is roasting on stick, you are reading a book, earning perks. P.S. Bug report: Pistol holster takes 3x1, while FNX45 is 4x1. While i put FNX45 in holster, holster still 3x1. If i put holster with pistol in it on belt (3x1) and canteen on it (3x2), belt still takes 3x1 in my inventory. Sometimes items that been rotated can be replaced with other items and it's result curious bug, when replaced item overlapping other items in inventory and lets you take more items in bag. For example, i can take only 90 items (90/90) but if i use this bug and take something else it may become this - 91/90 (i've took more, than could). Sorry, no screenshots. --- Well, that's all.
