Posted this before, but I'd like to post here as well to explain that the server has been recently rebuffed and revamped and is currently experiencing a revitalization of old and new players alike. We have a well fleshed out community and server with over 180 members on our discord and growing at a rate of up to 3-4 members daily. Information: Etiquette: Here at SocialRejects Gaming Community, we have a certain etiquette that we all have come to adopt, not just for DayZ server play, but guidelines that will help you fit in with the community and come to understand our mission to create a community of respect, tolerance, and a family oriented spirit of gaming. Our vetted community are very tight and hold our members in high regard, because ultimately, at the end of the day, this should be about having fun. With that said, the following should be considered when playing our DayZ Server or really any server we operate, including our community Discord. Respect. For each other, for your server, for your staff. Everybody that is here, is here on a voluntary basis. We don't get paid for this. We all want to create a community by gamers, for gamers, and we want everyone to enjoy playing games within our community. With the above in mind, sometimes there are still issues between us players. Personality conflicts and disagreements are bound to happen. Any real issues with other players should always be left to staff to handle and sort out. Pursuing other players for disagreements or breaks in rules is always going to get muddy for you. When talking to each other in game, please give your friendly gamers a chance to speak and try not over-talking each other. Sometimes this is tough with a room-full of people in the same place, but as long as we have that respect for each other and their spoken-word, everyone will have a chance to speak. Also, please try to limit background noise and "mic-eating", and just be all around considerate with the spoken word. Keep in mind that the premise of our DayZ Server and most of the other servers we will run, is Roleplaying. We want our servers to become an immersive roleplay story and world that you are apart of, as the character you play. The only limitation in this story is -your- imagination. The overall story is what we are shooting for here, so our server play is about the roleplay experience for not just you, but for everyone else within that story. As this is a roleplaying server, we want everyone playing to have an immersive in-depth roleplay experience, which means you, the player, doesn't exist in this world we are creating, only you the character. You are, in essence, your character, and what -you- want as a player, may not always be the same thing that your character wants. You can't always be on the winning side all the time with your character, even though you do want that as a player. However, the winning side is the immersive roleplay experience for -everyone-, not just you. Give your fellow players a chance to react to your actions in game. This is in regard to hostile roleplay, combat, or any other in game action that might warrant a response from your fellow players. When committing to such an action, make sure that you have enough time to follow through and for other people to follow through with a reaction. To be safe, plan on being in game at least 15-20 minutes after your action to allow for a reaction from other player/s. Community maturity is a big deal to us, and we want everyone to act with integrity and maturity without us having to explain what that actually is. As such, we will only allow immediate vetted signups that are ages 16+. Those underage are not prevented from signing up, but will be given a trial period to interact with the community prior to being vetted to show they can be a mature community member. Take this time period to chat, get to know the community and show us why we should allow you to be here. Those that do, will be allowed, underage or otherwise. Those that can't be bothered will never become a vetted member. Our DayZ server has what we call "Half-PvP" in towns (with white signs only, non coastal and not the wilds between towns). This just means while the wilds will still be Non-PvP/SoS/KoS, all cities, towns, and villages will be open for PvP with a few very specific rules to engage. This does not mean it's open season to sit in towns camping every single person that walks through town, there will be rules that are all essentially consent based, so if you intend on doing so, go hit a PvP field or go play PubG. The point to loosening the PvP restriction in towns is to create an atmosphere of real risk and to create legitimate Roleplay with an actual constant risk or fear of death. Killing people for no-reason is fail-RP. Therefore, think about what you are doing before doing it and think about the roleplay experience of all the players in the story. Your game is a tedious buggy joke, can you fix it?
SkeetRage replied to matty_21ps's topic in Troubleshooting
Any hopes to get a response from the devs is laughable. They aren't responding to you. That would involve giving a crap, which they clearly don't. They are only concerned with their bottom line, not community support or really giving the players what they want, which is in fact just a PLAYABLE game without gamebreaking horribly frustrating refund worthy bugs. Heck, seems like they are now just locking down posts when people are posting something unfavorable about the game because the response from a majority of players is just so negatively overwhelming. I barely even play anymore, it isn't worth it. I've let my private server lapse, no point in paying for something broken. I've pretty much accepted the console version of this game is never going to get the support that's been asked of and to keep coming back and begging for it is just a complete waste of time. We shouldn't have to beg for it, we -paid- for it. The only reason DayZ is still even on my system is because it isn't April yet, which is when all the new games I am playing are being released, after which point DayZ will be uninstalled. I've already dropped paying for servers from Nitrado - and barely play the game anymore really unless one of my friends really wants to play it. But I think it's about time to find something more productive to do. Can't wait for console Rust. I won't even miss DayZ. -

We can't find enough support to run a Livonia RP server (We've tried) but definitely one for Chernarus. https://discord.gg/Cr5pzrc -

I can't tell you how long it's been since I've died of starvation. And I die all the time in PVP, respawn in the middle of nowhere, and find my way. You need to zoom into the distance and take a hard look at any landmarks of any type. Power lines, lakes/rivers, biking trails, dirt roads, follow these to civilization. Livonia is a bit more sparse with cities than Chernarus is and has a much greater volume of wooded areas so you need to be looking for these types of things to survive. When you find a town, look for canned food/bags of rice in houses, look for a knife and skin a chicken, get some seeds in a greenhouse and a shovel and grow some food, smack some infected around and take their food, whatever you can. Hope it helps.

Yeah, grab a shotgun and load in a few slugs. Go find a geared player camping around somewhere and sneak up and blast him basically anywhere on his torso. Watch him uncon or die, kill, loot. Rinse, repeat.

I will say that DayZ is still a great game in my opinion, even though it is constantly annoying me and it basically is a love/hate relationship. Everytime there is an update, only some of the issues get addressed but a much greater number of features are broken seemingly due to lousy and non-optimized code or lack of debugging, or even pure laziness.. (Debugging your code is the single most important step in the SDLC, as a programmer, you know this by heart). Also, frustratingly enough, there is a severe lack of communication from BI, if not from the developers themselves, the community support team that helps answer questions and ease the consumers mind. Also, BI has a bad reputation for being "money-grubbers" and after the recent releases of Livonia with severely broken code and the same issues over and over and over again that the community wants answers on, this seems to support this theory. Problem with all this, is that although this is a really good game with some poor development practices is that it's losing it's player base. People are tired of begging for something they should have already been given, considering we've all shelled out nearly $70 to BI the last year on their game and dlc, and netted them 3x the amount the PC platform did - but we just don't see the support. Private servers are dying, public servers are dying, the game is dying. In fact, if I don't see some solid improvements by about April when all the new games are releasing, I'm probably just uninstalling it from my system. Other problem includes the fact that I cannot in good conscience recommend anybody else buy this game or it's DLC, it is essentially a paid-for-beta and there are much better games out there for the same or less price (or are coming out very soon), made by respectable gaming companies that would never imagine doing what BI does to it's consumers. Saying all this with all the respect I can to the community of player for DayZ, though I can't say I have much respect for BI anymore. Anyway, Cheers.

This is why you need to travel with companions or simply just avoid infected. On a blackout, as soon as you fall unconscious your teammate should get on those infected and take them down, and get you treated asap. As long as it's clear, first thing should be bandaging any bleeding wounds. Then get you conscious with either CPR or a Defibrillator or an Eppi pen. Blood transfusion to recover blood loss quickly, after. Etc.

Seems to be happening a LOT lately on the private server I play. Many people have died during a blue screen, it happens to me personally about 8-10 times per session which amounts to an absolute assload of times. Anybody else with similar issues with blue screen constantly?
-
I'm not paying another dime until this is fixed. Not just for the DLC but any future releases from Bohemia or any from the past either. I'm done giving them my money until they give me a good reason to. I'll just stick with buying games from developers that actually address the issues and actually fix the issues too. Sorry Bohemia, I understand your plight, but you've got to do better than this if you want my money anymore.

Professional step #1: If you can't explain yourself, deflect, distract, defer.
-
A lot of players from my private server are just done with the game until the crashes stop, hell maybe even permanently. They need to immediately pull this from PS Store until it can be fixed, there's already an absolute assload of complaints from this. People are tired, tired of the bullshit. Tired of the developer incompetence. Tired of the money grabbing and lack of communication on issues. Hell, we can't even get the fucking moderators here to even look at the issues or even attempt to show interest in it's player concerns. Please for the love of pete, what in the hell is the problem here? Why can't you guys just deliver something usable and playable?
-
I'm surprised that Sony honestly hasn't forced them to remove it from the PS Store with all the reported issues.
-
I keep thinking about what happened with 7 Days To Die PS4 version. Seems awfully familiar....
-
This could be resolved instantly with remote access to private servers.
-
Where's your base, 787King? Me and my boys will be happy to come slap you around a bit.
-
I hear ya, I was hoping to see less of them as well so that the private servers could fill out a bit more. I have also moved to a private server belonging to another gaming community with over 600 players for various games, DayZ being one of them. Seems to be growing everyday but yeah, I'd like to see just a little more activity and there being 4000 servers all each with 1 or 2 players or none at all is a bit much.
-
Guess I'll try that. It'll probably make the game run a ton faster. Or maybe I should just trade the POS in for a Pro, lol.
-
This is partly why I've moved from public servers to a private server. I don't see the point of public servers anymore - they are unfun. If you guys wanna eat that crap sandwich, go for it. I'm done with them. The only other reason I'll be joining a public server is if I wanna PVP and just kill everyone I come across for no reason, I mean, why the fuck not? The servers will be wiped anyway, any loss that is going to happen, is going to happen anyway.
-
Since the update, sometimes DayZ completely locks up my playstation and the entire system requires a restart. I'm really hoping the game isn't damaging my system.

I agree with the OP. Whether his information is completely accurate or not, the fact is new players to the console version, such as myself -are- extremely disappointed with the game, and as a newer player (One that didn't really play PC but now does console), I am speaking from personal experience. I love the game, it's extremely addicting and fun, but as a heavy critic of games in general, I can say with a degree of certainty that I would never have bought the game at the time if I knew how buggy and broken it actually was and still is. Even after the last console updates, the game is still horribly buggy and for the cost of the game (I think at the time it cost me $60?) that is very disheartening. Especially since this game cost me just as much as I just spent on some games that I have been waiting for, -for years- at E3. Funny thing, when those games released, they didn't have any game breaking bugs. They weren't bug free, but I was happy with them. And any issues that occurred after were fixed -immediately- to please their players and give them the game they bought. DayZ is a whole 'nother ball game. This is what is so unfortunate about DayZ because as a new player that expected to buy a polished and finished game feel swindled out of their money. In many ways I expect more from game developers - I realize the whole point is for the company to make money. But when you're in this business - the face of your company is what your selling. And you're selling a turd versus the golden egg it could be. That's just my opinion. Take it with a grain of salt.

I've found a few of them. They do change locations however, about every 30 mins and you can only see 3 at a times on any server. I unfortunately haven't been able to find anything good at any of them i think due to the overabundance of weaponry on servers, either directly or indirectly, due to duping issues.
