Getting old of the normal servers, and the fact that loot that's buried counts towards the overall loot economy (ppl call it CLE or something like that) Basically hoarders hoarding, no chance for ppl like me to get the good stuff. Trying to find a US server that's private & vanilla? No modded pls! Thanks in advance 🙂

Yes, because 80% of the loot in a miliary base should be off-limits. (Scopes, Magazines, Ammunition, Butt-stocks, Grips,ect.) I dunno if you've played DayZ before 1.05 patch, but there were ARs everywhere north. All the way from 1.00-1.05 that's what was normal, before people started hoarding.

Please don't put words in my mouth. I'm not complaining about finding buried stashes, far from it. I'm saying its an unfair system, when people can hoard & that's the end of the story. Whether or not your opinion differs, its factual that a few having everything while the majority have nothing is unfair. That's literally the definition of unfair. I invite you to jump on one of these servers (ATL-225, ATL-274, DAL-100, DAL-067) and actively, keyword actively, hunt down a buried stash and share the clip with me. Finding stashes or bases by sheer chance is A LOT different than hunting them down. Searching a single mountainside for buried stashes would take an entire day. (censored) Gave a server name, & location of my stash and told mister stash finder to find it. He won't lol. Not gonna keep my base info on forums tho.

Have you ever tried looking for a buried stash? It's almost impossible, given the shear size of the Chernarus/Livonia maps, and given how tiny and hard to see a little mound of dirt is. Not everyone hoards things in bases. That would be much easier, albeit very very hard to find.

Thank you, took a lot of what I was going to say right out of my mouth. We shouldn't be forced to use 30% of guns just because everyone hoarded it. This is a game, not real life.

lol its clickbait, so what. Don't need to call someone childish because of it though. I recall posting about no ARs spawning, the response I got was rather rude & had no credible input whatsoever. The response another "prestigious" community member got, when he asked the exact same question as I did, was a lot nicer. You don't have to treat outsiders the same, just don't be rude.

Hasn't been a response for a month but I want to add: I couldn't agree more. Played over 1,100 hours since 1.0 release on official servers, we shouldn't be forced to play private, when 98% of all private servers are modded with bull shit like "no stam" for ppl so the game can hold their hand. DayZ really needs to re-work the loot economy. In the last 400 hours I haven't found a single AR. Not because I don't know how to loot lmao, on the contrary, I know many spots that are never opened or looted on full servers that have been up for ever. But because kids go and hoard all the ARs, bury them, never to be seen again. There is literally only 2-3 servers that are consistently high/full pop on official. Contrast that with community. So sad. I love DayZ but its in one of the worst states ever.

Highly agree with all of these, except for the last one. There would be no incentive to really make buried stashes at that point. This all makes sense to me now. I appreciate ppl elaborating. Does suck, I need to find a good private vanilla server that's consistently at least high-med pop or high pop. Any suggestions possibly? Also, I agree that every weapon can kill. Shotties can 1 shot a plate carrier (or at least knock em out. that's more than enough to kill) I've been using 74u's and SKS's ever since 1.05 update. I've wiped entire squads, biggest thing I'm bummed about though is the fact that I can't use a lot of the ammo I find, buttsocks, grips, scopes/sights, ect. I haven't even been able to use any of the new mags due to this. 😕 Sucks only being excited to find 74u ammo. I feel like so much of the loot on the game is just none-usable. I feel that should be a big enough reason for dayz to at least look at a fix. I mean, they did a drastic fix to fix server hopping, and the AR spawns are worse now then before that update. I would love to see a fix for this, at least on public servers. Would totally make sense to at least take into consideration 1 of thepoey's suggestions.

I play vanilla, on the most played servers for America. There are several of them. Ever since 1.05, there has been a SEVERE lack of ARs. A lot of people are saying its dupers taking them out of the loot pool. I've played over 300 hours on this update- I always spend my time north, on several different servers. I have found 1 AR in the last 300 hours, 4-5 months, and it was at a heli crash south. What's the deal? Its not like I'm saying I ONLY need an AR to kill someone- but using the same two or three guns is really bland and boring. Can't even use the new mags on update 1.06 because this issue is STILL here. I never pick up majority of ammo or mags I find, scopes & handguards, buttstocks alike. I play on servers ATL-225 FPP, DAL-100 FPP, ATL-274 TPP, DAL-067 TPP, and other various "US" servers. This has plagued all of them. EDIT: If you play on servers that spawn ARs (i'm pretty sure this is a game wide issue though, i've tested on 9 servers) PLS let me know the server name. THNX

Wait, just re-read everything. So buried loot is supposed to count as obtainable? I mean, come on though. It's so hard finding buried stashes. Even if they're on the coast... So that's clearly the reason there are no ARs. Don't even worry about asking the devs, we already knew why the ARs were not spawning, now we have confirmation that it is DayZ's design that does it. 😕 @Greensek If I would have known that's how it works, then I wouldn't have asked at all 😕 Sucks that hoarders are ruining it for everyone else. What are we supposed to go around with metal detectors attached to our sides and even then RARELY finding ARs buried? 😕

Update: The only fix I have found for this, is (unfortunately) waiting a bit and then rejoining. Took me about 30 mins of afking to somehow fix it.

The inventory bug will make it so you can't bury your stuff. This could jeopardize many people's buried stashes. Be safe out there. Hoping my stash doesn't get discovered due to this 😕

I respectively disagree, I just think it should be harder to have hidden stashes in general. But once you have a bunch of hidden stashes, its so hard moving it all. Also, how would they keep track if you can just dig it up and bury it again? But alas, no point in tents or anything when you can just bury. Maybe bigger mounds for bigger buried containers, like barrels and sea chests.

I play on PC, I play very often and know how to loot, its not a matter of being a noob. What I'm talking about, is in the last 3-400 hours (95% SPENT NORTH LOOTING BASES) I didn't find a single AR on any of these very popular US servers. To say I don't know how to loot/that I'm unlucky is neglecting the sheer amount of ARs that I found prior to 1.05, we're talking leaving Tisy with 3 ARs every single visit north, on the same servers. @McWendy @drgullen @Greensek THANK YOU SO MUCH! So the tourist map is nice, but its not very detailed. I want to suggest the devs add a military map that is very detailed (shows buildings, forests, loot spots, ect.) just because its un-immersive for new players to have to tab out and look at online maps and what not. Just a suggestion! Carry on.

Soooooo... Are you guys going to fix cars despawning after server crashes or....? It makes cars useless. Long time players want to gear cars up for a reason.

Makes it virtually useless to gear up a car on an official server. A DayZ dev at one point responded and said they were looking into fixing it, but haven't heard anything since. Would be so great to have a giant killing movable storage that actually stays in the server after inevitable server crashes. P.S. Before you say "Just play modded!" I like playing my game without having my hand held through finding gear & stamina balances. tyy:)
