Wots his name...sumrak...yea that is the guy. I remember listening to his twitch stream probably around the time he was getting ready to release Namalsk, unfortunately I don't have a twitch account and digging up past videos publicly is kind of hard, he said that there would be alot of parameters to consider before just flat out implementing it...are there multiple zombies at the door and I forgot the rest but you get the jist... I also imagined zombie behavior needs to be adjusted also so that they do not automatically aggro you because someone else out of line of sight did. Those twitch streams are really informative. -
I am sure you can report via steam or the server owners if it is community if some valid violation with either of them occurred.

So you consider the improvised fishing rod to be missing even though it is in the game? The historical content page, and to an extent the whole wiki, contains outdated information...no love lost for the grass pyramid however. Otherwise the unreleased content page is more accurate but some stuff like 'Guy Fawkes Mask' and 'Cannabis' is something you will not see for legal reasons....although if you want those flat ballerina shoes so bad maybe you can hit the devs up on twitter. "no new content for xbox one/ps4 only bug fixes" "revolver doesn't function correctly". Revolver is getting fixed and console will get the SVAL along with pc players this patch. Further patches you will get even more stuff, that may or may not take longer than the PC due to MS and Sony policies to review every damn update before it is pushed through. Helicopters and planes are never coming to Dayz. -
There definitely has to be more items for the Halloween Event. During Christmas we get our Trees, Gifts and Santa clothing but with Halloween Event the items are independent of the official servers. It would be better if the Halloween stuff was incorporated into the official servers with existing characters. Having more 'theme' stuff weather/items would be cool, also some people don't want to jump on a independent hive just because it has more fog and and pumpkin helmet. Maybe a bloody wolf, bear, goat helmet next year, would like to see the 'weird side' of the Dayz survivor.

A thing about food when spawning, and I have known about this for a while but I did not want to do it because it seems monotonous....Fruit trees, the kind you regularly see along roads have so many points which to spawn fruit around them....So you walk 40 meters one way and walk 40 meters back and they all spawn fruit dynamically again and again. Of course it is not enough to get you far, but with the next patch I believe they are raising the energy gains on them. Not so much the small stones....I think that if they reduced the amount of fruit that spawns it would be less of a awkward survival strategy to run back and forth through fruit trees not that I think I just want the game to be harder. -
I do not believe the devs have ever said that Standalone would ever be a 1 to 1 with the Dayz Mod I do not think even Dean Hall who is not around anymore set that as a goal for SA. Of course there are things that are not there like destructible buildings or helicopters but it has already been stated that the latter would never be implemented. And there alot more locations to Chernarus+ such as Tisy. Looking at the firearms compared to mod they are on number nearly the same if not more than the mod planned and already implemented and alot more melee weapons. Having the m16 rolled into the M4 was probably a case of the M16 being redundant when there is no burst fire, according the gamepedia page the CZ-550 is virtually identical to the M24 and M40A3 performance wise... SA rebalanced the weapon list and tiered it properly, and last I heard from Sumrak there is still set to be a balance pass on the ammo damage so like say the assault rifles are more set apart. Base Building does not need to be like the Mod with ridiculous constructions, no one wants to go back to that. PC player numbers are solid and have been for the last few months. Console is another story, Sony and MS make it hard to develop a game that has a PC mindset for a 'closed garden' I should know I played Dust 514 and I am very aware how Sony would charge CCP to put a update it is not hard to see why a update that gets put out for the PC does not end up on the console if Bohemia can help it. Modding does not take away anything or add to the experience of SA because it comes down to effecting balancing and stability of the build, you have mods that throw tons of weapons that affect the weapon balance and tiers and alot of performance heavy stuff that would take the Devs to have to account for. Also get real...no one seriously thinks about what should be added into Dayz by the measure of the Mod they think about what was in the game up to .62.

So from what I heard from the Dayz Mod the zombies spawned dynamically around you, so you could be out in middle of the woods and they would be there....don't quote me on that. A video a while back from a current dev I think stated that they could implement something like dynamic spawning around the player to generate hordes if they thought it was feasible. Do you guys remember how different the Standalone Survivor Games zombies were, the fast walking creepy ones? I wouldn't mind if those made a return as hordes because it looked like they worked well in SG.

I noticed when I joined a custom server that my gun wouldn't pull up to First Person with a single right mouse click so I had to hold it down and press shift. I dealt with it before and it seems to me to have to do with server connection or dysnc...I am not to concerned at the moment...however I need some help I personally don't like the (Right Mouse Click = Auto First Person Hold) because I am liable to click it when my finger twitches, was wondering how I can turn that off.

Interesting. It is amazing how much of the PC base is on community servers now adays, I still see sudden spikes of people on odd hours of official though. From what I hear about PS4 servers they are pretty slow or have been for a few months, Xbox last time I checked a month ago are active on peak hours but usually are slow most times. Also +1 for reminding people that Temporary servers mean Temporary.

There will probably be free weekends every year but looking at what you can do now is play the game and have under two hours to file for a refund. However playing for under two hours is not a great way to know how the game is....just going by the rules of a official server you can expect alot of time trying to make it off the coast in going inland all while figuring out the control and crafting system. You could commit alot of time just traveling and not getting anywhere.... But there is alot of fun getting lost and figuring out where you are, as is not taking it seriously and just running around the coast getting a feel for the game. It is hard to know what you would want of the game if you don't buy it and play it for a while....Like one of my dreams is to entirely wall off one of the coastal towns so that fresh spawns are stuck in or out of it.

I kind of want a Vaiga for my First Person, I have a M4 for trade. Ridiculous I can't find any more, I use to see them all over.

I found a ghillie suit on a crash site post 1.09, I was sure that they said something about these not spawning anymore. Also I am pretty happy with the way they have the high end weapons spawning they way the do now...heh the Dayz Reddit Admin doesn't seem to like it though he will be the first to tell you. -
I have been having some issues every now and then where I will try to raise my weapon but it wont so I just need to lower it and reraise it. I only play 50-100ms servers in my region so I don't know what it is connected to. Thankfully it has not become a big issue. How are you not being kicked from 300 ping servers, you need to play in your own region servers and stay there...that is the only way to ensure you are getting the best experience.

Xbox has a ton servers to mitigate the problem of acquiring weapons far more than PC, especially when the LAR, VSD and VSS do not count in hoarder you just need to look more. The problem with consoles is using Alts, attack a walled up building and you have a guy spawning in 6 or 10 times. The focus should be stopping people from using more than one character with secondary accounts on a single console. -
It is hard to know if someone who killed you is doing so illegitimately unless a third party can confirm it, not to reach but every death for PC users will be questionable but not answerable when you die all of a sudden. More than enough Xbox users did this when it was factually the opposite across the board, but one thing I do know is that I will almost never get randomly killed or shot at when going through dense forest...and the only time I ever did was the Tisy Highway on the edge of the map.

Turn off vsync, get a higher HZ monitor, adjust your video settings to fit a better frame rate or go for broke and turn Dayz app to high priority in the task manager.... Dayz has some issues but everyone's hardware is different so it is hard to tell what the issue for you would be.

I talked to someone a while back about the basebuilding and he mentioned how Dayz bases were like fortresses in the mod, people would use helicopters to enter and leave and it just provided monolithic middle fingers to people who wanted to play a survival game. I am not really experienced myself about the mod I never played it but the way basebuilding is open air fencing/towers, helicopters would jump from one base to the next whenever they wanted and would only force people to build more inside of barns and such....which is why the base building for the expansion mod is so blocky. But also as the Derleth has said, this map is to small for helicopters. Even to think that byplanes would make it in with few runways or places to put them, such long range vehicles ruin the experience without a bigger map if you are not already jaded.

There was a few patches ago where they were not spawning properly but I think it was since fixed. Livonia is the worst place for it because the south is consistent unlike Chernarus where it can change radically like in the west end it's wolf country and not far it is a player kill zone in NWAF. Something I do know for a fact a spawn point that should be spawning wolves but doesn't but I am not going to try and help fix it....because I am lazy but mostly I don't want wolves over there.

I found one in a tent in Balota during 1.8 and I found a Standardized Supp. inside of a car over near Novaya.... So the the two things to note here is that you can find them even on the coast and that wrecks spawn military gear all over the place like Livonia.....It would be good to find them right now because....boy howdy it will be hard to find them soon.

I believe they said in one twitter post that if the PS5/Xbox can run backwards compatible there should not be a problem playing it. Now since you are on PS you run your server off the website, connecting to Dayz and playing on your server should be no problem. Will there be a port? Probably not, most of the new hardware is boosting the processing power which is what causes problems like load in especially for PS users and you don't want to split the userbase between 4 different consoles running a bunch updates for a relatively small team. The whole thing is down to Sony and MS for how easy the game will translate...more than likely no issues. Besides it can run 4K or whatever resolution they mock things up as now.

I do not like making conversations with people I meet in Dayz, everyone is trying to get something out of doing that whether it is in ally or to feel good about themselves and it borders on roleplay. I do not really need a reason to shoot someone if I have a gun...but then again not every situation is the same not everyone has to be shot. Anyway...there is very little difference in how PC players and console players act, so it would not be better any other place. Maybe culture wise console players are more toxic because they are not use to going through different phases in development I think the PC crowd has already gotten over that phase....like harassing Brian Hicks.

I will follow up on this because with some proofs because everywhere I go this crops up. https://forums.dayz.com/topic/247443-persistence-off/?tab=comments#comment-2454027 "Persistence OFF" means in this case that we may shut this server down at any point in time, so do not be surprised if it disappears from one day to another. - ImplulZ I had previously said they never explicitly stated the 'persistence' issue because their wording never took into account resets or lifetimes, as they understood it. As you can see this guy, xKJCxDaRkMaN "Well I know that buddy, I was wondering if they are not working properly though" has his answer fly right over his head.

I play on Xbox so the 'persistence' is clearly marked. Although the devs have not explicitly stated this...Persistence OFF just means that they can shut down the server without any warning/without details as to which servers they are shutting down, as they have almost always been used as temporary overflow. So the servers act exactly the same as any other server. I am not sure why the lifetime on items, containers and player built structures would be reduced or manually wiped after each restart. Rule of thumb is that it is not a good idea to stick anything on those servers because they may be gone tomorrow if the devs feel it is necessary.
