If I look at the servers and the bussy Hours of the day, I think this game rushed the console world (no wonder as there is nothing realy comparable). Given this and the hard way the console market is fought for, I too belive that B will need to set some budged and continue this success to be able to get a good name at X-Box and PS Players and be able to compet on the long term. So it would only be sensfull to react to this Player demands with usefull upfdates but we will see.

Ok. Possibly first get the Compass out. You then can use the map and the significant builldings as landmark also in the night (sometimes its possible to even see those against the sky). You can use the night to get nearer to your planned target (loot spot). Tents are at industrial and construction Areas for example. Possibly a Barrel will do too for now? Day/Night is just luck. if you annoyed of the night, continue to leave and choose a new Server till you found a day time one. There are Always day time Servers active.

yes, got that. But as said, it also takes on shot to get back to the beach even if equiped with those so I Question if it is worth the whole west run thing?

My experiences from scratch to base can be found here but are texted only just in German till now. It´s actualy a description for new Players on the PS4 to Speed up their Knowledge related to the game in General. How ever, take a look if interested. Finding Friends and a first over view. Looting and equiping with weapons A new thought and base building Base Expansion and finding new neighbours in a huge base. Have fun.

What I realy dont get is the constant attraction of the Military loot spots? It seems to me the majority of Players believes it is THE ultimate objective to go to mili loot spots and finalise the Equipment Always hoping for an M4 or THE missing bit. Now sooner or later you then catch this shot (even wearing plate armor and all kind of souveniers from earlier loots) and run again possibly to the next mili loot spot or to youre burried loot. I just think there shall be more around the game like trying to live in an area, with base, car and observing it with a possie? So to your Topic, it is for me not usefull to search for Hours for this one bit and I use all weapons I get during my activities in Chernaus which are not focused mainly on mili loot spots. I have to say I am not a skilled Player in PVP in this Game here. At some other games this clearly is different but need to practice more which is dificult as your result is always final if done wrong :-)

I think the complett loss of everything is the reason that makes this game so interesting, challenging and good! Yes there are bugs and lags and similar but it is currently the only game of it´s kind on console and let me try to express how I understand it. The game is a raw Peace of meat that you got on your plate. Now youre ordered to cook your meat and there is a tabel full of incredentians. So you are able to create your full own personal Steak instead of getting a finished 12 gear menue delivered. Now the good thing is, you can realy Play it in any way you like and given it is a raw Peace of meet not 1 inday day is the same as the other. This is, because it is a huge PVP Arena and so this other Players are the flavours. Depending on who you meet, when and under which circumstances, the situation will develop different, which you will possibly not see from any PVE bots in any game. So there is a lot of variables in the game, which is good. The second ellement, which is the total loss if you die, is good also. It is good as this is a game and not something serious like RL Things. As it is a game, we, the Gamers, do Play it to feel the challenge and to master the game. But in real noone ever wants to master the game, as if you would master it, it would become boring and uninteresting, as the challenge is the real trigger and not the accomplishment. If a game is played through once it gets boring and will not be played again as the challenge is gone. Let me Name Tic Tac Toe as a simple example. Once understood it becomes super boring as everyone knows how to Play it parley. Now it could be checked if the total loss is to rough and I say again, no it is not. It is not as loosing all makes the success if not loosing so much more taste full as it feels much better to have been able to accomplish the looting with good gear and not having died once. Would you instead be able to respawn with your full gear, 500 meters down the road, this game would not be the same. It would Change to a Standard arcade shoter. There are plenty of those on the market. So I think, everything done well (accept the Bugs). If I would have any voice, I would ask to Change the loot spots in a way that they are not always at the same Areas to avoid the constant run to the west and the military loot spots. If this gear would spawn random somewhere, this would be more interesting and would get players a Little bit more back to the Survival ellement. Same with Things like water pumps, which could be try sometimes sporadicly or a Horde which surprises (the cow chaisers are actually something like that) Said so, I am fully clear that DayZ as sourcing out of Arma, is a battle Simulator as clearly that is the origin of the software.

That is such a true Statement! It seems to me a lot of People might belive it is the content to spawn, run west asap, get the Military loot. Dye or find some Barrels. Get them to the middle or east side. Hide some weapons, speed back to the next Military loot point, take weapons and dye or hide them again so to be protected when respawning and being able to equip again with weapons and to repeat the same thing on. For me it is more sneaking through the enviroment, hiding, finding loot on the way but focusing on a nice place to rest and base. We will see. How ever, the Major part of this is to enjoy the game as a challenge but with fun as the way is the objective, the final Goal is it not as this is a game. and games get boring when you achieved it all

Guess the calculation is, can I make it in the time to my dead body at Gorka to get the loot back. I think thats a yes but Bodys despawn fast (10 mins or so). It´s just also a bit of navigating unless you run the course often enough.

I think torches and light sticks have an effect? Have a try, heard others saying it worked? Did´nt try it myself so far. Firecrackers would possibly attrackt more of them to run to the Position but anyway shots have the same effect but of Course you cant throw the Sound so the source is you :-)

There possibly is a need for some Kind of "Anger" post area so players can overcome the frustration being killed by nature, NPS´s or Players on and on. This is a good and hard Survival Simulator. It is not any of the common Arkade shoter games you usualy face on consoles. Any decission Counts and will effect everything afterwords. So watch out and Keep in mind, this game is ment ot be played carefully. It has more ellements from assasins Creed then from Battlefield for example (if I can do that examples at all), which means you have to Sneak through the area, navigate through an unknown enviroment in a foreing Country by avoiding to get killed by nature or others. If you accept this challenge, the game can be really fun but there is also a big luck ellement on the Question of will I find loot or is it gone alreaddy. Will it be the loot I need, will I be able to loot without being disturbed or not and does the weather and day and night rythm fits to my schedule or not. So ist a lot of planning, thinking, watching, and a bit of luck. I obviously like the game but it take s awhile till you understand the way it is ment to be played and the mechanics and till then you die often and afterwords you still dye. This is more experiencing short Storys then a full block buster carrer but that exactly also is the teaser as loss is meaningfull and it is good that it is that way.

There are Pc mods that do add those at Dayz, so I think there is a good Chance for it.

Escape :-) More serious, ,Groups I meet are mainly runing to Military loot spots, grap anything usefull they find on their ways and build bases to stock pile weapons and food for the times they get shot.. There are sometimes players who like to lay on Roofs and wait, till… But for me it´s more the Survival ellement that I like and the traveling to interesting places. The unexpected crazy stuff. I just think ist currently alreaddy starting to get filled with Players who have a longer DayZ history and so I died often when I get to near to the usual possie loot places (Military). This game has a lot of surprises but I would prefer an even more hard NPC ellement with hordes and possibly hard to get through places so Players would be pressed to coop more. I am still unsure if to much good weapons and gear does´nt make it a Little bit favoriced to ignore the survival ellement to some degree, just to speed up to the next Military loot Point, fill up with drinks and food on the way, to somewhen meet a similar equiped possie to do the necessary shot out. Respawn or win and restart at the beginning of this sentence here, which mainly means for any other looters, not equiped with the usefull fire power so far and missing the map awareness Elements of loot spots and food resources to be most likely the next victim. Fully understand this given scope but just wonder if future adds might add content like the described one? As a start, is there any announcement when the bow will become constructable in game? It had been coming later to the PC Version in those years and it is obvisously coming later here, but when?

'I also doubt there might be a hand full of Players (Maybe even more) playing the game without any head set plugged and maybe are not Abel or willing to answer... Players even can be in the same room and would´nt have a need to speak ingame as being able to speak outgame. If you meet such they will possibly also not answer. I bet a lot of attacks in this game from Players to Players are a result as Players want to Prevent to be attacked or surprised and because of that, they attack others on sight. Oh and completly forgot, at PS4 most Players will use the PSN Chat. This Chat is priorised. So you see the Microphonesymbol ingame but you cant hear the other Player speaking at the ingame Chat and he dosent hear you. So if you want to communicate with Players on the map who are not in your PSN chat, you need to leave the PSN Chat first to be able to do so. If they are in a PSN Chat they only will see you microphone Symbol. Thats it.

They might just practice fight and might be new to the game them self. There are so many reasons why this things can happen that a NPC programer creating ingame player enemys could´nt even think about, because the ellement real human brains as being the ennemy, or friend, or both, brings a lot of variables.

For my understanding: Actually not as this is a game and every game lives from the challenge you face. As bigger the challenge is that better tastes the benefit. At games you Play to master the game but in real in a game, not the finishing of the game is the target, it´ sthe way to get there, which is actually the real objective for any Player. As soon as you reached the final objective a game gets boring, means if the challenge is gone a game gets boring. If you die at DayZ you start always from the beginning because the callenge is not to achieve a base, have a car, and live prosper and happy near a camp, (thats possibly your personal objective but not the games thought content) the objective instead is to try to achieve all of that and therfore facing the callenge for (possibly) years... In other words, as more "protection" like 3 lives, a spawn of you´re choice, possibly a defense mode, you add, the more the current game concept would get ruined. Also ist not a waste of time to start all over again, it´s the callenge of the game and so you really feel your loss when you die which makes it all more meaningfull. (please forgive any bad langusage skills I am not native Speaker).

Are you complaining that Players share their thoughts here or why do you point out that words been spoken 5 years ago? Also the post was done 5 years ago, so there was no console verison to compare and discuss, so it is a different level now. It might be that some of the people Posting here have worked in this Arena before (like me for example). Just saying so you can consider.

I think that would be good as it would also mean to add the need to survive the night and to get sticked to your sourunding and situation instead of hooping out of a dangerous Situation, but the game is not readdy for it now, as you get kicked from Servers from time to time and you also see Servers restarting within some minuts. So this then would mean, if you had a sync loss or get kicked from the Server, you would need to wait until this Server gets online again or start a new carrer instead. That would possibly be to much for many Players and they would get bored and drop the game. So you possibly would need to say, no more then 3 Server changes per session or something similar.

You have to Keep on trying and you will therfore Keep on dying, but it is the Right way I think, because good skilled Players with plenty of gear should not have the Need to kill poor equiped Players if not deem necessary. However, all of that is Dayz and all of it counts into this to make the game so great as it is. The last thing I want is the implementation of any Regulation related to possible PVE only fans or defensive modes and simmilar. That would ruin the experience but to much complains About getitng killed might lead into such a direction? Finally its a Sandbox and that means Players will play the style they like and some might believe he Plays a psychotivc mass Killer and so it be, meanwhile another one might want to be a rescue man delivering Food to the starving new spawns. As said that is what makes Dayz so great and seperates it clearly from a lot of PVP shoter games out there, Both is possible and that is what I love in this game. Or said different expect the unexpected and your fine.

Yes it is perfect. Because every time you start new the game devlops different due to so many variables in special coming through the PVP ellement. and saying so, I would apprechiate if even the loot spots (by Kind) are not fix and instead are spread all over the map so you need to search instead of knowing) So what you describe is exactly why I love this game. it´s different each time you start new… Each time? well there might come a time you Speed with your lousy Shirt the Pipsi and the Plum directly West to get back to the good loot points, You´re absolutly Right doing it the way you do it, because it will ensure you get the most out of the game by not short cuting developement of your own skill and experience due to too much background searches. Keep it on.

This game is really a nice and challenging one and given it´s so long out there, this Proofs it´s working (the concept, the idear and the sand box). The main difference (and thanks we did not get cross play with PC players) is the controller handling. Now it´s much more difficult to manover the stick to the target then to Point and Klick with a mouse. So crossplay would unbalance the PVP ellement for the disadvantage of controller Players. But next to that it´s great and I also apprechiate that just the Stand alone Version was implemented and not a degraded shoter Version for consoles. Great Job done! Now finally it would be great, if the Bugs related to handing over loot, droping loot on the Floor and loosing it therefore and the lags (sometimes) could be repaired with one of the next updates? I really like this game and I have played many.

That exactly is Dayz, Always expect the unexpected. Dayz never forgives a failure. Actually this is not really a big Blockbuster story Beginners will run through it is more the short Story you face in Special in the beginning but ist actually so much fun to try to get on further. Actually the game splits for my understanding into 3 phases: 1: you survived so far. Now get foot and drinks and loot (Basic at the coast. a back pack and so on). 2: You go to one of the many Military zones and get good weapons so your able afterwords to effectivly defend yourself. 3: Now your readdy for the crazy stuff and start to look for a car that you can get functioning, burying Barrels with loot and building a base. Phase 1 is what you will always be able to experience. Phase 2 is what you will be able to experieence only if you understood navigating using cover and so on or with a lot of luck :-) Phase 3 is what you will be able to see only if you where lucky enough not to meet better skilled aggressive Players and that you have the right loot and possibly a possie. This is actually what it is About benext to a huge oppertunity for yourself to find your own content in this huge Sandbox. ...and honestly, there is no similar game availabel on the market for any console so far. For the Bugs like loosing loot when trying to Hand it over or so, I also hope for an update soon that fixes this, but the game itself is verry similar to the Stand alone PC Version and ist great (my opinion).
