Hi all, I play on PS4 so hope it is okay posting this here, could not find a PS4 section on the website. When the game was released to console I was delighted, having had watched quite a few YT vids from PC players it was a game I was interested in playing. When I first started playing it was fun, yes there were a few bugs and issues here and there, but I figured that it was part and parcel of DayZ, after all you PC had been putting up with it for an age. With that said it was still okay to play.I did however get a bit fed up of the bugs and stopped playing for a while, I have recently started playing post the most recent update, I kind of wish I had never bothered. Food resources have been dramatically reduced, yes I know it is supposed to be realism, canned food and tree fruit would still be a recourse in any eventuality. Yet there is hardly any, the only way I can find food now is to chase, yes chase, zombies and kill them hoping they might have a can or too of tinned fruit. If not then my character dies of starvation, it is a case of loot die, loot die loot die ect ect. I am not for one minute suggesting flood the map with food, but a bit more than what is available now would make for better game play, as opposed to continually dying. Another factor, when I first started playing, it was easy to meet and chat with other players, you could group up or go PVP, it was your choice. Now though it is a case of "I have a machine gun you are a fresh spawn I am going to waste precious ammo and kill you" Or, us group of fully geared players are going to kill you regardless of the fact you have feck all on you to loot from. Prior to console release, watching PC play, they were a lot of toxic players but it was not all bad. When first playing on console it was not that bad either, you could actually talk to another player, help them with food, drink Ect. Now though it is just full of players who just want to kill on sight regardless. The fun in the game in my opinion has gone. Unless of course you know the map in side out, you know where the best weapons are, but if you don't your fecked, so where is the lastability in game play for a newbie? You search towns for ages and ages and end with feck all, only to be killed by some fully geared twat who used his/her M16 as a substitute for another smaller item. As opposed to finding other geared players to play "Mine is bigger than your's" Games. You could say I am "Salty" Lol maybe I am but I will say this, I would be more than happy to killed by a geared player, if I had anything of worth on me at the time other than a fecking glow torch. I do envy those of you that know your way around the map. I know of the DayZ map app, sadly my eyes are not that good and I can't really read the small detail anymore. Ettab, Luves12 and Supernick. Thank you so much for your informative replies, I shall take on board your advice and keep trying. Ettab you are correct, it is not knowing my way around that is a big issue at the moment, hopefully that will change.

I have the correct ammo for weapon I have, yet it will not load. The weapon does say it is worn could that be the reason why? When I have loaded a weapon it only loads one bullet a time, even on the scorpion, any ideas as to why this might be? Thank you.

Not sure where you going with this? You told the OP that night is good, then said that if its a full moon with no clouds its not good. Does not really matter, I agree with the rest of your statement.

Ha ha what type of language? I thought I was being quite polite, I even stated I was not having a go at him. The OP is the one who does not like the night time. I hate it but still play it, having a torch and a head torch makes it a lot easier. If I dont have either of those I make a torch with wood and rags.

I was unaware players were dropping out of the game that quick. I might have sounded off a bit in my post above, I was just annoyed that I lost a lot of stuff because I would have preferred to talk to the player as opposed to kill him, where as he/she had different idea's. It takes ages to gather good stuff only then to lose it so quickly. In truth, I probably would not just shoot on site, I will however-As mentioned above-Be more cautious. I would really like to meet other player's and play the game, I have met player's and whilst playing it has been a lot of fun. Some player's can collect a lot of loot, get killed then start over without a problem, me, I get suicidal over it lol. More than likely due to the reason I have no idea where I am going on the map, I don't play that often, I can't get to the good spots as quickly to get loot. I have izurvive but if you spawn in the middle of the woods, the map is no help.

You pay money to play a game then you find yourself in the middle of know where in the pitch Fecking darkness, with no idea where to go. "I can only play an hour or too a night" Well f*ck you play longer, it might be dark and there is f*ck all you can do about it" "I want to come on for a couple of hours" "Fuck off its dark for an hour you cant play" "I used my torch its gone" "Then fuck off and play another time" "I am not that good at this game, I dont know the maps" "Well then fuck off and play another game" It is okay for you if you can play this for hours on end, but if you cant then then its shiite. If you work, if you have to get up early and just want want an hour or so play time, fuck you, its dark fuck off and come back another day.

I know some people like the dark but some do not, they have a right to complain about it. I had to add this bit as an edit:- Why the F*ck should some one spend lots of money on a game, only to find themselves in the pitch black not being able to move around, because they have already used there torch the last time they found themselves in the pitch black? NVG what if a player does not know where to find them? ECT ECT. Really had a go at you lol, no offence to you.

Lots of topics on this subject. Try joining a more populated server, the lower one's seem to be always dark when joining. If you really can't play at night then just join different one's until you find one that is day time.

When I first started playing I would offer players food or drink, I would wave to say that I was friendly, I would use the mic to say hello. I wanted to meet other players and play the game, I have even fought Zombies to help a player out. Now though, now I have no interest in you, I will kill you on sight if I get that opportunity. I will even pretend to be friendly just to get the upper hand. Why lower myself to that standard? If I run around for 2 hours collecting goods only to then come across some one who wants to be macho and kills my character, well then I am going to strike first. It is a PS4 multiplayer history, players are not friendly-Not as bad as PC players granted-But unfriendly none the less. Why join that category then? I cant set an example on a game no one will know if I did lol. I am however f*cked off with collecting items only then to try and be friendly to some one who then shoots. That said if I come across a player who drops to there knees, holds there hands up in the air, I would befriend them. Problem with Dayz is there is no end game. If I were to play Battlefield 5 firestorm, I would go around collecting lots of equipment, searching and looting, for a specific reason. That reason being an end goal, where as Dayz has no end goal. You can collect and collect all you like, but where are you going to go with this? Just get shot and killed and restart nothing more nothing less. The point is, players will try and try to collect items, there is no incentive to be friendly after all that collecting. I am of course excluding roll players, they have a great time, or group players, they too have fun. But as a solo player, why should I not just shoot you on sight? This was just a rant have fun.

Is Dayz at right now? I uninstalled it and reinstalled the game, it says version 1.01 I am sure there had been more updates than that. Also on spawn I used to get a drink and a sharpened rock, now though I dont is that the same for everyone else?

I play alone, would have however prefer to play alongside a group. Not sure how to share usernames here if you know let me me know.

I still need to ask these questions. I am on the verge of deleting the game, but being an old gamer I always try to bypass issues and continue regardless. However that said my experience on Dayz so far has been less than enjoyable. I know many of you have had great play time and would be completely different to me, I envy you. Lag: Regardless of which server I play on I experience it, I have tried the EU servers ect. they are all the same. I normally die as a result of it, not to other players but zombies, every time. I run into a building close the door and still be hit by them, only to find that I was never actually in the building but due to lag I was still outside. I have a very good internet connection and play on a PS4 PRO there should be no reason for the lag what so ever. Does anyone else experience such issues? When I first played Dayz I was using an official PS4 headset, other players could me and I could hear them. Then all of a sudden I found that other players could no longer here me, I could here them though. I bought a new headset, not a PS4 headset, and that resolved the issue. Until tonight, now not only can players not here me I cant hear them. Well not all any way, but they certainly cant hear me. Again, does any one else have a similar issue and if so is there a solution? I tried contacting Bohemia but as with most gaming companies they have not replied, I even asked them how to get a refund I was that deterred. I am a bit gutted, I have watched a few YT vids on the game and watched people having great fun playing it, I just do not quite understand why it is so fecked up for me. If any one can give me some information on the above I will be very grateful. As said I do not want to just give up. Thanks.

I am in the Uk London to be precise. My PS4 headset works fine on BF5 just not on Dayz! I use ethernet connection as it is supposedly a quicker connection. Which as said no reason for internet delay but there is. No not in party chat this was just proximity chat. I now have a headset that connects directly to the controller, as said it worked fine until recently. Now it has stopped working. I will, as you have mentioned, await the new patch and see what happens then. Thanks for your replies.

Hello, The very first time I started playing the game, I met some one and we talked in game. The next time I played it was different whereby other player's could hear me talking, but I could not hear them, same still applies. My headphones are fine, tested them on another game, player's can hear me but I can not hear them, any one have any ideas as to why this might be? Sorry if this has been answered already I did look to see. Thank you.

First time ever playing Dayz. I have tried a few times to get used the game and get to like it, unfortunately at the moment I regret buying it. Lag, this has been a big issue, I have a PS4 Pro I read some where that lag for this console is worse than that of a standard PS4. I have found servers with little lag but in all its been bad, to an extent a Zombie can be a mile away and still hit me. Talking of Zombies, spawn get surrounded by them, killed. Spawn again get chased by a group of them killed. Night time, flair runs out spend however long wondering about bored sh*tles as can not see anything and unable to play the game. Logged on and had to run in a house, as again chased by multiple Zombies, took so long for them to move away, the flair ran out, again could not see anything. Only had a hammer so could not even make a torch. Number 50 in the queue, try another server, your number 48 in the queue ect ect. Find a server with short wait time, lag too bad to play. Maybe I have just been extremely unlucky, at the time of writing this I am not impressed with the game at all.

Thanks I will do that. Game sucks, the more loot I get then lose the more depressed I get. Is there a Dayz helpline ha ha.

Slightly better play, found an axe chopped wood- Why I never thought to use the the small knife you get when you spawn DOH!-Built a fire but could not work out how to cook the goat meat I got, spent ages chasing the thing only to end up having to eat it raw. Why I never thought to use the the small knife you get when you spawn DOH! I can never seem to find a backpack, searched all around each spawn area to no avail. People keep saying go to Military bases to get weapons, how do you guy's no where to find them without a map? Or do you just keep running and running until you get lucky and find one? The thing that might stop me playing this game completely is because of the complete dark at night. If the flair runs out and you have no other source of light the game-For me-is unplayable.It only lasts for an hour, but when you can only play for an hour or so it's disappointing.
