    Whats wrong with server hopping?

There are two reasons OP. Firstly it is exploitative. Secondly it removes any sort of reward from your game; in my opinion it would ruin it, I honestly don't know why you would play like that. Why don't you let us know what you find fun about the game when you're server hopping?

DayZ Mod content vs. DayZ SA content

"In every single pc game modders always offer a better product than the actual vanilla retail game does." Well, they enhance the product in particular ways. That's the point. Whether it's better is subjective.

    Suggestion about maps

To be honest I'd rather not see this feature in the game. From a personal perspective it's not something I'd use, I don't think it's very realistic. That is a personal opinion mind, for me the real draw of this game is what you don't have, and what you don't know, and what you have to do in order to understand and construct a picture of the the world. I think it's great that with the best of intentions I can get horribly lost in the middle of a wood without a compass and map. I like that if I had a watch in the mod I could still work out north. At the moment I've been creating abstract maps (well, that's up until last night until I found a compass and a map) in noviee sobor* so I can navigate the roads between various towns inland. Even though I wouldn't use it I'd still rather not see it implemented for those that would, I don't think I'd like other players to have a magical ability to remember the route back to NW Airbase, or wherever they'd like to get to, simply because they managed to stumble onto it three weeks ago with the same character. There's a reason that this is being asked for, and that's because to remember that kind of information is not possible without assistance, whether that be by repeated journeys, or an offline map as you spawn. I like that I have a character and that I am that character, if you want a map either as a object in game or a HUD display, then try creating your own with just the tools your character has. It is hard, again whether it's a mental map or a written one. If any sort of created map would be available in game I'd like to see a player created object that was stored in your inventory. Until you get an actual map I think you should be able to use other tools to create a viable plan of certain areas: range finder, compass, high elevation with landmark features to plot for example. It's the kind of thing that I think would help to encourage co-operation and a good reason to try and organise trades/exhange. Asking people for directions to a certain location where they could share their map on your screen perhaps, and once you part ways it's removed. If you don't have the equipment or knowledge to create your own do you want to offer something in exchange for their time and effort that this object represents? It adds value to an otherwise common object. Want to steal it? It's going to get ripped unless you decided the quickest action was to shoot them, maybe you don't have a gun and thought that you'd cut and run. Of course that option is completely undermined by the proliferation of online maps - but it's the kind of thing that would really change the game in fundamental ways I think if that were not the case. Maybe even create a fake/misleading map that you could leave in a house, another way of competing with players that does not involve you killing them. * I also like translating the Russian signs into English to understand where I am. I personally think that an Russian glyph to English/[your native language here] phonetic guide would be fantastic in-game, at the moment I use a online site and that does irk me for reasons already stated. I do think it is in fact Novy Sobor from reading the forums but that's what I took from my translation. Edit: You have my beans though, I thought it was a good constructive suggestion, even though I wouldn't necessarily subscribe to it. And grammar.

Classes in DayZ (let the shitstorm commence)

Sorry dude tl;dr but I skimmed but got the gist. Whatever guise it is added in, I think this game needs to add something dso that survivors have something that others will not. The fact is that you have nothing that I need that I can't get on my own - so why not kill you in case you have it on your person. As soon s you team up you create a community - as soon as you you have that there is a moral compass/peer pressure added.

    DayZ Supply drop

I like this idea a lot, it's not an unrealistic scenario and I think it would be a worthily addition. I like the sudden injection of motivation and possibilities you may encounter.

    Indicating you are friendly

Yep, I was suggesting it to see if people thought it might be a good convention, indicating you're approachable and/or not an immediate threat. At the moment shouting "FRIENDLY" while both parties have their weapons aimed at each other isn't working very well I don't think. Also never found my primary click raised the weapon...must check my bindings - thanks.

    Indicating you are friendly

I was thinking one way this could be done is by having your weapon lowered rather then in the shoulder constantly aiming at whatever you're looking at. Once you spot and approach people at any distance it would be easier to gauge their intent. Pros:You cannot immediately fire without warning. Raising your weapon would give warning that you are hostile Cons: As far as I can tell in order to raise your weapon you are forced to stand up which is not ideal. It would be handy to have a toggle or some such whereby you can raise your weapon to a firing position in all three stances.

    Why so much rage?

I am sorry but I don't think the community will get behind that mate, it's a shame that some responses have been rashly dismissive but a lot of people are very passionate about this project. It's good to see that you're contributing though. To get off to a better start with other suggestions you might have can I offer a tip? If you think that a certain feature of another game would be good in DayZ explain why it would work in DayZ. You sa: "[WoW's] use of factions was very effective" It may be the case that the use of factions is effective in WoW, but you don't go on to justify it as relevant or effective for DayZ (at first glance it seems entirely contrary to what DayZ is all about, not relevant or effective answer to the problem - even if it is a potential solution). Consider if your suggestion would significantly alter the core experience of the game, if so maybe reconsider or refine since it's likely too far removed from the collective appreciation of Rocket's vision. As you can see I've only recently become a member of the community as well, and haven't even posted a suggestion, so you're already a more valuable member of the community than I am. I look forward to more ideas in the future.

    "cheating"

They are only cheating themselves out of enjoying the spirit of the game.

    Two annoying things.

A moderator replying like a child? Dear me. He was just being succinct. What kind of feedback are you looking for? Your two points are annoyances with player behaviour, behaviour that is legitimised by the fact that they are acting purely within the framework provided by DayZ. Try suggesting how rocket might go about making it less frustrating for you, or ask people for their experience in mitigating that kind of frustration.

Yo Rocket! Chance we can get one of these

Rocket confirmed earlier this will be day-one paid DLC.

    Please read and give feedback!

If you want feedback can I suggest in future you make it a little easier to access your ideas; the url you provided links to a post that just links to another nondescript page. I didn't bother to read it but would probably have done if it was in the post itself and not a wall of text.
