Hey Para, Survival! We spend a lot of time exploring, collecting gear, base building, hunting and the occasional Zed clearance. Is it as exciting as PVP?- probs not but there are a million and one games out there you can PVP. DayZ offers the ultimate survival horror experience and to me and my mate Houndy we are just sick of getting sucker killed or kos'd by players looking for a different experience to us. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy a 'normal' session of DayZ back and fourth so we just hop on the vanilla servers for that. But for that survival/exploration experience a very low pop server is perfect. Would be nice to have a few other likeminded players dropping in and doing their own thing to bump into back and forwards, maybe share a meal and help them stock up before they go off on their merry way. If we ever do get more players on our server I will defo increase the server size. I guess it is horses for courses- whatever floats your boat. Cheers mate and stay frosty out there!

Im now used to the KB&M with my driving- no way near as confident but I get by. Just as well huh!!

Hi I already typed up a thread asking for a couple of non PVP types to join my small lightly modded server. There are just x2 of us looking for friendly people to go and do their own thing but nice to bump into from time to time. Leave a comment here if you fancy joining.

Hmmm weird sorry I have been away from home and busy I only just checked the forum as an afterthought before I hit the hay. I just went close to the tent with the tape in hand and the option came up to repair and again on each section. Sounds like a bug - lets face it there are plenty of them. I went through an entire base build where I was chopping down all trees in one hit. I was only getting one large log from every tree but I wasn't taking damage to my axe - bugged, I logged in a few minutes ago and the trees are taking several hits to down now and I am getting more logs so it could be a similar bug and may rectify itself in time. Really sorry I cant be more helpful. Only thing I can suggest is to ask another player to try and fix your tent and see if that works. GL bud

Just as an update- as we found out its wasn't DayZ that was broken it was my own brain cell! The very last one and its faulty! I have been playing on my own server and enjoying it although I do miss interactions with real people well ones that don't want to kill me as soon as they spot me- wish folks like that would chill and find out what kind of player they are dealing with before they go all Killzone on me- I mean there are games where that's what you do but I believe DayZ should be about collaboration and surviving this nightmare together. Or at least being helpful and moving on. Anyhoo on the car front I have found a lot of vehicles, many of which are in pretty decent nick, I have two 4x4s at my wonky base and I am at the point I don't even check when I spot another one. I love driving about in my 4x4 bringing up my Izurvive map (yea I was lucky and found an electronic device with a map of the area installed on it in a house in Cherno- honest!) and heading off to a new area and giving it the once over before heading back home to the comfort and safety of my base. I only have 4 slots on my server but I am going to post up and see if anyone is interested in playing on it. If so and there is more interest I may well upgrade and have a bunch of likeminded PVE type survivors. This doesn't mean we couldn't have battles now and again just for giggles- maybe settle disputes etc Not looking for a group just lots of single or small groups who like to explore, clear zeds and build etc but most of all not KOS! I'd like to thank the good people who helped Houndy and myself out with our lack of intellect and got us off to a zooming start upon our return to DayZ- Thanks guys - Stay safe!

Pranged my motor due to terrible KB&M driving skills! 😞 With the kb I am like a kid on day one learning to ride their bike with the stabilisers off with a controller I am giving it the 'Schumacher' style! Someone please help me.

Hey Greg, I have just finished repairing a canopy tent- each section/flap requires repairing individually! (This includes the roof section etc as well!) Yup eats up the duct tape fast! IMO it aint worth it for the small storage space you get from them. Use until you can find some large tents and concentrate on them- much bigger storage and lets be honest look a lot cooler too! Hi, I have just searched through the threads here to see if anyone else is having similar issues with their Xbox controller in the PC version. I reinstalled my Xbox controller and tried to use it in game- I used to do this regular but only for driving as I much prefer KB&M for everything else. First off I noticed even although I changed the controller settings in game to inverted - it wasn't and wouldn't change unless I inverted the mouse and that's not an option for me as I said I switch back n fourth from controller to KB regular. The controller works its just the button layout that's wrong, i.e. B changes the gear up as it should but A opens the in game chat feature instead of gear down, to move the car I need to press the left stick forwards instead of the right trigger etc etc etc its all messed up. Please if anyone can help me out that would be fantastic. You guys have already helped me with another in game problem I was having- well I wasn't. I was just being err... 'stoopid' but I'm all good with that now. Now I have the cars I need to be able to drive them confidently and I cant very well with KB&M whereas with the controller I am pretty decent at driving. BTW this is a new problem - before I took my lill ole break from DZ I used to use my controller no problem at all. If I remember correctly I messed about with controller settings when I was playing Arma3 ( just for vehicles) and its expansions last summer and don't think I have used my controller with any game since- if that helps ID the problem. Help me DZ forum dudes- you're my only hope! Thanks for reading.

Heya, I had the exact same issue last night. I installed the BattlEye and tried again- same shit. So I quit the game and restarted my PC and all was fine and dandy. Hope you manage to get it sorted. Good hunting out there.

Heya, I just switch to KB and mouse when using controller- having said that I only use the Xbox controller when driving as I have always hated driving in any game with KB & mouse. I don't think you can change to the console style inventory though. I am having problems with my controller after a return to the game it just doesn't work properly! The button layout is all wrong and I cant invert it either! I am thinking about starting a thread to see if some of the enlightened can help me out. Hope you get a fix or at least a workaround for your inventory problem- just as a thought- have you checked the steam workshop to see if there is maybe a mod that will help you out? IDK if that's a thing but maybe?? Good luck and stay safe.

Yea I agree its hard work and as ever- sods law applies, if you 'need' a Jerry Can or Spark Plug etc it will be the last thing anyone can find. :p Anyhoo I can report that Houndy and I last night found a 'new' car we had a radiator, battery and spark plug in our bags but only a few emptied bottles* to use as fluid carriers and we got a CC Sedan running. Made it to both a Well to fill up the radiator and Petrol Station and topped up the tank! Back in business! What a couple of idiots though- thinking the game was bugged coz' all the cars were smoking haha!! * Have they taken out the ability to empty water etc from bottles etc? I remember pouring out liquids that we didn't need but now the only option seems to be to drink from or if there's a radiator or another receptacle you can pour into that but I just couldn't seem to empty out unwanted liquids? Probably another dumb question !! I'd have thought this function would have been very necessary now that water bottles can be contaminated! And what's with the new foot wear? It's not very realistic to have to replace your boots trainers etc every few hours, I realise the games hardcore but some things are just a tad OTT in my humble opinion.
