My friends and I were talking about this recently and it might get some pushback from the community, but we think it’s a good idea. Current Recipe: Wooden Planks + Nails Suggested Recipe: Wooden Planks + Hammer 🔨 + Nails We have hammers for base-building, it’s only logical that hammers, meat tenderizers, hatchets or stones should be used to build Wooden Crates with. Does it make crafting them a little more difficult? Yeah — but it’s DayZ, a hardcore zombie 🧟♀️ survival game! PS: Stones should be a less effective hammer substitute for base-building too!

It’s 12 Grenades now, not sure if that means 6 = wall + 6 = frame or 12 = wall + 12 = frame. Which I’m glad of because explosives aren’t difficult to come by, especially for a large group.

I love what they did with bunker in Livonia, but would relish they add more interactive locations in the future. Some ideas I have: Repair and operate Lunar Park rides/games Shooting Ranges could have achievements tied to hitting certain consecutive on-target shots Add random seeds for Infected to be inside Livonia Bunker at different levels Other military installations that have ‘special zones’ which require a punch card or key code to use on a number pad Tourist Maps with marked Points of Interest that leads to a hidden location and or loot, like a treasure map Gain access to electric grid to repair it and be able to turn-on electricity in a building/town

What he said. It’s perfect the way it is. Anyone can come across that corpse, including the player that died and rushed back, within the random body decay time window or a server reset (which wipes all dead bodies regardless of how long they’ve been there). Why do you NOT want survivors to have the opportunity to possibly recover their loot? Are you a narcissist? You’re assuming others that attack you after killing another player are even the same person that you killed. If you get into a firefight, it’s like a ringing a dinner-bell for other survivors to come investigate and they’ll want to kill and loot you plus the person you just killed. The only way the person you killed can get to you fast enough to try and prevent you from looting their former body is if you killed that person on the coast or up north if on Livonia where fresh spawns are. If you’re like a +1hr hike away from fresh spawn territory—there’s no way in hell they’ll get back in time.

This topic has been posted numerous times by myself as well as others. The Tourist Map functionality, presentation and controls have come a long way since initial console launch. Old Tourist Map: Clunky and Choppy controls to move map position or to zoom in/out Hard to read town names and no other POIs No Map Key/Legend No interactive capabilities NEW Tourist Map: Smooth controls for moving around the map and to zoom in/out Easier to read items on map Added icons to map for POIs like Hospitals and Police Stations Still no Key/Legend for POIs Added interactive features when coupled with: 🧭 Compass: displays in real-time survivor’s orientation above Distance Key/Legend 🌎 GPS: displays in real-time survivor’s 4 or 6 digit map coordinate based on zoom level along with altitude above sea level IMO the next steps Bohemia should take to finish map functionality are: Allow us to mark maps with grease pencils or markers to: Plan routes Mark our own Points of Interest Enlarge existing POI icons + have a toggle to display a Tourist Map Key/Legend of what each icons means, there’s still items I have no idea what they are Links to previous Tourist Map suggestion threads I’m aware of, including my own: Interactive Tourist Map + Grease Pencils Please Make Console Tourist Maps Editable I hope devs read these suggestions and make these suggestions possible in the future, I love using the tourist map now compared to before the GPS and Compass augmentations. It’s better for immersion and not having to rely on a third-party app/site like iZurvive that can be distracting and pull a player out of the game/moment.

I found TV setting to correct this. All set!

I finally got the GPS + Tourist Map to navigate with… but there’s a huge problem. The grid numbers for both Easting and Northing are chopped off at the edges of my TV, and there’s no option in DayZ to adjust HUD Safezone to make the Tourist Map usable. Please update game to have an adjustable HUD height and Width to fix this for console players that are having information bleed-off the edges. -Cheers

I also hate how devs changed the blast area of damage to a radius rather than its initial cone of damage, which was more realistic. The claymore is pretty useless now: they’re hard to find, they only persist for 4hrs (even when made into a tripwire trap) and they don’t have a long cone if damage.

I thought traps had a week of persistence? I’ve set two tripwire claymore traps for base defense — and both despawned leaving the tripwire attached detonator useless!? Why are claymore despawning so fast? What’s the duration traps last now?

Claymores are 4hrs.

Ever since the last hotfix Combination Locks operate way too fast! Survivor’s easily skip numbers when inputting combinations now — fix their cadence to where they were beforehand. Why did this happen?

Ahh, I play on Series X and that’s not a thing on Xbox.

What do you mean exactly? There’s no user ID displayed above survivor’s heads like in arcade shooters, only way to see list of players is to got to menu > online. This displays everyone on server at that time, but you still don’t know who’s who.

Please make it so all large doors and gate can be opened & closed by aiming at the hinges similar to how base fence gates work. Not being able to open or close from the hinges makes locking up or unlocking bases that have existing large doors or gates very difficult or impossible.

The devs said they’re re-working infected this year, perhaps this might be part of that process?

If we build a flagpole, will that renew traps timers like tents, barrels etc?

NVGs in Series X Version are way too bright and don’t have any vignetting or softness to the lens edges. They were much darker back when we played on Xbox One a few years ago, which was more realistic. I know what they look like in reality because I used NVGs overseas. NVGs in their current state are like running around on a bright sunny day with a green lens filter on.

When I was in the Army we had pouches that strapped to our waist and secured to one leg, kinda like a holster. Would be cool to have an NBC Mask pouch attachment for our belts in-game.

Cars have more than 1 Spark Plug in reality too. Filling up canteens with rain water used to be a thing on PC — and could be brought back into circulation. The game aims at realism, but at the end of the day is still just a game.

Ar15 is the civilian version of the M4, it is semi-automatic only because it can’t be sold in full auto to civilians. Just find and M4 (which is in the game) and trick it out — there’s optics, grips, flashlight and buttstocks. Plus it has select-fire full auto or semi.

It would be amazing if survivors could use the vehicle turrets in both the Humvee and M3S Truck like showcased in the DayZ Live Action Trailer, which always amps me up to play! DayZ Live Action Trailer Similarly, passengers in civilian vehicles should also have the option to shoot pistols inside the vehicle or sit out on the door window to use a longarm rifle. Driving survivors can easily be ambushed with no way to defend themselves from a firefight the way the gamer is now. -Cheers

Thanks, would you be able to list the lifespans of all traps here? I used to run a server, but don’t have access to xml files anymore. It’s silly that the explosive despawns leaving behind a useless tripwire and detonator.

Camera while climbing ladders is still jenky. Glad the vehicle teleport bug was fixed, it happened to me and my friends a few times.
