Night is supposed to be dark and difficult, my biggest complaint about day/night cycles is that servers aren’t all synced to same time of day. The time of day should be a global setting for every server all being the same, which would force players to suck it up and play at night and learn to survive better at night rather than server hoping to a daylight server.

Each time I try to plant pumpkin seeds the game crashes, is this a known thing?

I didn’t water before I planted at all, but when I tried to after planting and game crashed 3 times — it wouldn’t let me water at all.

Yeah, most things like barrels and stashes are 45 days.

Has anyone in the beta testing program been able to test texture loading, lag, and ambient audio issues we experience in 1.02?

I just started playing DayZ after 1.02 patch, I’m all for new features and items... but with those things should come performance improvements. The server lag near hide-outs are terrible, the textures rendering in too late are jarring which includes optics not loading fast enough—making them unusable at times, the lag during driving and zero engine noise are all game breaking problems that should be prioritized over adding content.

Ok before using fire barrel for fire, it can be moved.... but after igniting a fire you have to bury it like ashes to delete it.

If I make a fire barrel, but later want to move it is there a way to destroy it?

Dammit, I placed a fire barrel used it and now it’s in the way and can’t move it!

This happened to me recently, I had to source new 9V batteries because my scopes an flashlights weren’t working. They had all died, but their condition was still labeled green and said pristine. Would be helpful if devs had the battery life marked like water resources in % charged and their circle condition color degrade as battery life wanes.

Hey everyone, I’m trying to build my first base, and I had to take down a fence because I need to adjust angle. i dismantled most of it from inside but then had to destroy from outside on the frame. Now I have the 2 base posts remaining and I don’t know how to remove them? I can’t close off the last section of my parameter fence until I fix this, advice please and thank you. lol I tried digging opp post and fixed it, moderator please remove.

There’s no need for pity, nor did you hurt anyone’s feelings. The gaming industry is primarily consoles not gaming PCs. I did the exact opposite of you, I had built $5K gaming PCs back when 3DFX Voodoo cards existed, then they went belly up selling their tech to NVidea and Apple. I stuck around for a few more years using ATI’s or NVidea cards, but when Xbox was released I jumped ship from building gaming PCs. The constant money-pit they were wasn’t worth it, a new game releases and you gotta upgrade direct x, get more ram, buy a new chipset or graphics card — nearly every year. Xbox offered a gaming PC in a box, a system optimized for gaming that wasn’t PS — a proper successor to Sega’s Dreamcast, which was awesome but they lost too much market share after the failed Saturn, so Xbox has been my go to. Xbox has mouse & keyboard support so you can play that way if you desire. -

Does the darkness prevent you from complaining in the wrong section of the forums too? For you’re on PC and complaining about performance in the Xbox section. I’m a new player on Xbox and yeah the game is buggy, and needs further development, but it’s not a lost cause being ported — in fact, it’s the opposite. They will gain much more market for the game by being on console. Allot of people that never played on PC, like myself, are now enjoying the game on console. -
I started playing Day Z about 2 weeks ago with friends and very much addicted to it! With that said there are a few elements in the game that I hope the dev team corrects in next patch: Textures constantly re-rendering in as in textured white 3d models then applying textures, this is annoying and needs to be resolved Inventory UX design needs changes to be more intuitive and user friendly, for instance collapsing menus should stay collapsed or expanded based on user’s last interaction, especially the inability to cycle thru the items in barrels Optics being flat gray circles or not using cross hairs correctly because they don’t render-in fast enough — this can get players killed because they can’t aim Gillie Gun Wraps obstruct First Person view in a weird way and look bad Head/Face clipping thru hats, helmets and masks Can’t easily Double Press LB to zoom while prone Can’t use inventory while prone — we should be able to access weapons and clothing pockets but not backpacks while prone Blood is too bright red, should be a darker crimson color Hope to see these corrected in a future update, thanks for reading this everyone — keep on surviving!

Hey everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. I just started playing Day Z recently for the first time and I’m thoroughly addicted. I’m an Army veteran and enjoyed America’s Army back in the day, which is where Day Z got its roots from. Are there any resources for Xbox about what’s on the console version? I find info about PC, but it difficult to find out info for strictly console, such as items etc... Cheers, Aaron

Thanks much for the welcome. It is known Day Z stand alone had roots from Arma franchise, but I was always under the impression Arma was created from America’s Army game. Perhaps i’ve Been incorrect in thinking this for years lol.

Never played before 1.02, but the night is dark and full of terrors. The night is pitch black as it ought to be with humanity not spewing out light pollution at night after the Zombie outbreak. I personally think all server day/night cycles should be synced so we have to deal with it, rather than server hop to find a daytime one. -
Yeah, sometime out of nowhere ambient audio for an area just turns on that wasn’t functioning earlier.
