    Things that we’ve been doing to mitigate despawning: Don’t park vehicle inside buildings or garages for now, cars seem to subtly shift overtime with server resets causing cars to flip on sides or upside down then become ruined and despawn If an accident occurs, remove anything damaged at all, if the part is not pristine throw it away; this includes doors, hoods, etc... we’ve noticed worn, damaged and badly damaged parts are treated as if ruined and will despawn anything attached to them, such as being stored in a tent Distance vehicles migrate after server restarts is greatly associated with vehicle’s foundation ie how many wheels are attached Avoid driving as server restarts I Don’t know if this actually helps or not, but i’ve been putting my car in neutral when I park it now Park in wide open spaces, so in the event of vehicle migration from server reset, it has less chance of hitting an obstruction causing vehicle to spin on its side or upside down Don’t stow ANY Badly Damaged items in trunk, I had first car despawn on me in weeks from storing a badly damaged Butt-Pack in trunk 🤦‍♂️ @ImpulZ please makes devs aware of these issues... sick of loosing tons of gear and dozens of cars that took days to build.

    Crashed Olga only ruined radiator. Spent hrs looking for 1. Finally found one, car despawned. BI, you need to fix this issue, we’ve lost countless supplies and cars holding those supplies.

    Dude, my base buildings skills are probably better than yours mate, for i’ve built several successful bases on both public and private servers. My bases typically take month’s to be breached because of where I build and how I build. As of now: even if you have a 4-digit lock, top and bottom barbed wire it only takes a matter of minutes to breach the base walls. A pair of pliers and a hatchet + a few minutes and base breached. The best base defense is placing it someplace players won’t easily notice. I have a base built in an area that only rarely has infected, it’s more of a nuisance than life threatening. Name a single zombie show, movie, or game outside of Day Z where the point of a base wasn’t to keep Zombies out.... there aren’t any; protection from infected and a safe zone with a cache of supplies is the primary function of a shelter. Secondary is to protect your stash from other players. If you bothered to read OP, you’d ‘grasp’ that I’m fully aware infected can climb base walls, and that’s why I created the thread in the first place, to inform @ImpulZ so he can tell the devs our base building needs to be more robust so we can construct bases that infected can’t climb over. Items that could facilitate this happening for construction are: Barbed wire should prevent zombies from scaling walls, they’re dead and relentless but only have a finite amount of health, and would have a chance of killing themselves trying to climb barbed wire walls Prop stacking: we should be able to, within reason, stack props to build higher walls and stack wire mesh barriers Since player intrusion has been discussed, the amount of effort required to breach base walls should be longer and damage the tools used forcing players to repair them once or twice before they can successfully break into a fortified base wall

    The point is to have a sanctuary from ALL hostiles, not just player’s raiding but also from infected. Bases, as of now, can be raided too easily so they aren’t much of a deterrent against raiders either. It’s not that I missed the point, it’s that you failed to appreciate the entire scope of base building — which includes defense against infected.

    How effective one is with an Axe is irrelevant to the OP, I too favor the Splitting X for One-Shots, but that doesn’t change the fact infected are able to climb our base walls.

    Yeah, players aren’t able to vault over base walls at all, even if it’s only a half wall and has no barbed wire.

    There was no smoke, I crashed into a tree on an S-Curve from a lag spike. Pulled the ruined radiator, checked everything else, engine parts after pulling radiator were Pristine. None of the body was ruined, but hood was ‘damaged’. I left in search of new radiator, came back and gone! Was on my private server, which is PW Locked, none of my friends were on during this time, so nobody else took the car.

    So, I had an entire large tent full of stuff de-spawn too. I also noticed it was most likely from a ‘ruined; car part anytime there’s a chance something is ruined it despawns anything associated with it. I think I had parts that might be ruined but to me they look damaged or badly damaged, but in fact they are ruined. The car I crashed, had a wrecked radiator, that’s it everything else was fine. Yes, I did pull the radiator and it still de-spawned. BI needs to resolve this sooner rather than later.

    Community servers have been a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.

    It doesn’t take 8hrs to fix a downed server. All you need to do to fix stability is set server reset intervals, by doing so it cleans up the lobby multiple times a day to prevent data leaks or anomaly’s from occurring which yield crashes. My server used to crash something fierce, now I think it’s only crashed like once since adding 6hr restart intervals.

    Skyrim is SP tho, so modding a single player experience is fine. Multiplayer is a whole other ball of wax, modding leads to exploits, which leads to cheating thru mods. Mods would also have to be implemented to all players so the mod works correctly, like I could add a car to the game, but if you don’t have the 3d files on your machine but I do you won’t see it, so there’s compatibility/implementation headaches. Additionally, MS would have to approve everything, the game has too many issues that needs to be fixed and applying mods could make bugs more apparent or create new ones. Lastly, Devs said they aren’t supporting mods and won’t be adding them so there’s that too. For those reasons, that’s why I said never gunna happen.

    If you’re looking to play with mods, PC is your playground. We won’t see mods on Xbox. Devs have already said they aren’t allowing them. And Microsoft doesn’t support modding on their platform save 1 or 2 instances like Skyrim which is a single player game, not multiplier.

    I’ve been trying to get my server restart notifications to inform players when server will restart accurately. But the time is off by 30min for some reason. The time restarts are every 6hrs midnight, 6am, noon, 6pm. I have the time set to 360min in the .xml file which is 6hrs. But the notifications think there’s an additional 30min before reset. If I reduce the 360min in .xml by 30min to 330min, the notifications don’t work at all for that. Any suggestions? Heres my code: 1) following message will be displayed to every player in countdown manner and shuts down server in 6 hours from its start <message> <deadline>360</deadline> <shutdown>1</shutdown> <text>The #name server will shutdown in #tmin minutes.</text> </message>

    Had a perfectly working Gunter, drove up a ramp — parked it. Played for like an 1hr, car seemed fine server crashed, my friends and I rejoin — the hood is ruined, the radiator is ruined, smoke pouring from engine but everything else is green. I own server, so I restart it after placing new radiator and filling, plus removed the hood. Come back, car didn’t despawn, does not show ruined nor smoke billowing from engine. We put back together like Humpty-Dumpty now car starts and moves for 1 sec intervals then shits off! Wtf is this 😂 @ImpulZ Please share with devs of this glitch so it’s fixed.

    Between the insane amount of cars that depawn and the following broken physics — I’d highly recommend staying the eff away from cars! @ImpulZ please share the following issues with devs so they are aware and fix them: Cars are despawning from their locations after server refreshes, not cool when players put hours/days gathering parts to have car vanish right in front your eyes after reset. Especially with Olga’s, those things are ghosts Car Headlamps don’t work, no option to turn them on Vehicle wheels, when placed onto car generate tire road noise as if the car is driving when it standing still Cars physics are very temperamental, I was killed because Gunter kept falling thru map and doing barrel rolls, tried exiting the car — it was if I was swimming but under the map while being mauled by zombies Steering-wheel hands animation is way to fast and weird looking, doesn’t look like organic wheel rotations just bam all the way left etc...

    I was driving my Gunter, server reset, I spawned back like .5miles from where car ended up, which was more accurate to my position than my body was on reset.

    I played for several hours last night, build a safe house, locked it up then went into a shed and logged out. There were no players or zombies nearby, I just hopped on and I’m a fresh spawn for no reason — wtf!? I didn’t have my hands bound that I’m aware of, knowing that will kill you if you log off. No idea why I fresh spawned, has this happened to others? @ImpulZ please inform devs players are dying when logging off, was indoors with door closed, not in combat nor injured when logging out.

  25. So at nearly 3weeks of waiting my server has been activated... but now i’ve got to set it up. Besides password locking are there any other tips or tricks newly active server runners should be aware of? Like, preventing the board from being wiped, Day/night durations, etc. Cheers,
