Developers cater to people with no life outside of this game
Porcelain_Punisher replied to Porcelain_Punisher's topic in Xbox
"You claim that the people who spend what you consider to be an excessive amount of time playing that they have no life correct? Well what do you call it when someone who spends and excessive amount of time on a video game forum pissing and moaning and insulting people for things they are very much guilty of doing themselves?Would you say that person is a loser and “has no life?” Lol. Taking 30 seconds to write a comment on a forum is hardly considered an "excessive amount of time". Nice try at trying to rationalize though and turn this around. Complaining on a forum for a few minutes here and there compared to having to spend weeks running around every camp on the map to find a single assault rifle only to never find one...theres a better rationalization for you. I along with probably a larger group of gamers enjoy this game or atleast an idea of this game but will agree that they have made weapons far to hard to find. It's a reasonable argument and no dupers are not the only problem. Dupers may cause issues with spawning new guns but they also lowered the spawn rare which doesnt help. It's by no means immersive to run around a map littered with military bases and only finding the occasional sk or ump. I also dont need you telling me about my patience level. I was a scout sniper for 10 years so if anyone is patient it's me. So for me to say that this game takes way to much time to find something, then it takes way to much time. Me and 2 buddies got into 6 firefights last night on the game. With sks umps and shotguns. Sorry that's not very enjoyable in a post apocalyptic world where you should be able to find as much supplies as you need. -
I've never said this game should be played one way or another. I've always enjoyed the sandbox aspect of this game and I encourage people to play as they see fit. If I get int I'll a firefight and die, cool. If I walk around a corner and get killed by someone camping in the corner, cool. That's how they play and survive. That's fine with me, I just better be more alert and cautious next life. Wanna go built a home in the woods, go for it. Wanna be a ruthless pirate and tape pillage and plunder people and fresh spawns, go for it. My issue is with people like stag that presume that they run the game and make the calls on how others should play as if they paid for it themselves. Unfortunately I have always found that to be a large portion of the dayz community.

If you have no life then you have no life. It's not an insult to call something as I see it. If someone has nothing better to do than to spend their entire day playing a video a game then that's their prerogative. It's just bullshit when the game cater specifically to that type of player only. It's ironic how that type of player is also the same that are on these forums and crying about how other people choose to play the game that they paid for. I never switched my argument once and if you feel that way then you read wrong or you misunderstand which is not my problem. I said I want a happy medium. People said to lock servers, how does that help other players that want to meet with friends. Loot is already hard enough to find and takes a long time to find great stuff. So you wanna lock servers and force people to start fresh. How about for those that dont enjoy playing the game on a night time server? So you want them to be forced to spend MORE time searching for loot now because it's dark and they have no option to switch servers. Now they are forced to look around for loot at night when its harder to see and takes longer. You assume I changed my arguement yet that would mean that they have made loot easier to find AND locked servers. As I said before, catering to only one type of player...those with no lives outside of the game. There is no debate here. The game clearly caters to one group of gamers only and it's their way or the highway. Good luck making this game last on that attitude. Noone said it needs to turn into a fast paced open world call of duty. I simply suggested finding that happy medium to enable people with tight schedules to still enjoy the game and be successful -
Thank you. Duping may be an issue but the amount of spawns and locations was an issue first. Unless you have no life outside of this game, it's hard to find one.

Jesus you are a whiney bitch on every single thread huh? You're playing a cut throat game where people can play however they want. And then you bitch cause someone killed you and didnt duct tape you instead. I understand that getting tied up may be your thing as you are a beta, but maybe you should find a new game. You said you know it's a survival game, yet you complain when people kill on site. I would love to find you ingame. I'd be more than happy to tie you up and then turn you into a YouTube video right before I execute and take all your loot. Stop complaining about how other people want to play the game and survive. You didnt buy their game. Dont like it, then be more careful and attentive to your surroundings. Stop spending to much time in one spot where people can find you or spawn in. You're comments are on these forums crack me up. Such a little girl

So I spend weeks buffing a character and building a base, then I have to start as a fresh spawn if I try to meet a friend of mine on a different server. Locking servers would be absolutely horrible idea. The only pro to locking servers would be to keep people from server hopping into your base or server hopping into a better position to kill you. That's it. -

I wouldnt consider myself a casual player. I dont find entertainment in trash like cod. I do and always have enjoyed milsoms and games based in more realism. I cant even enjoy the new tom Clancy games today because they have been ruined and made into Hollywood shooters. I enjoy dayz and I enjoy the difficulty. So do the guys I play with on dayz. they wont play any casual games anymore either. But even they admit and agree that the little amount of loot and time needed to dedicate on dayz is a little absurd It has nothing to do with impatience. Sure, dupers can be impatient and seek an easy way out. I also now people dupe because they dont have the time to invest but still want to enjoy this awesome game. It's sad that players like you cant settle for a happy medium. I would bet that if you and I played together then we would probably have a good time too because we both enjoy what this game is. All I'm saying is that they should buff up the looting a bit more. Already guns . -

I'll agree there. Console players tend to be more "toxic" than on PC. I've played both and that's what I've seen. I agree that dayz is adventure game and pvp is only part. I mentioned that in my OP. I like that I can go alone and survive and build. I also like that I can hunt other people. I like open world sandbox games like this one. We haven't disagreed on anything so idk what you say we disagree about haha. -

I've said that before too but unless they spread good loot out across the map instead of a few select places, then I'd rather the coast spawns. So I agree and disagree. -
Here come the 100 comments about dupers. I like how the first person to reply will say "it's because of dupers" and then 100 other people need to respond and say the same thing. Please read the posts. Yes dupers are an issue, but the dev's also wanted these weapons harder to find to begin with. Like 60 players per server and only a few ARs spawned to begin with. Thd DEVs are aware of duping, and can't fix it. They can wipe the servers and clear the old ARs but then they are gonna lose players if they keep wiping (especially for those that play fair). So what can we do? Oh yea, maybe add more ARs to the servers...dupers dupe because there weren't many ARs to begin with unless you constantly server hop to loot. Not everyone has no life outside of dayz. Not everyone can spend all day playing the right way just to find a simple gun, and honestly for the setting of this game it makes no sense to have them as rare. Yes dupers are part of the problem. We all know. It's no secret. Stop flexing that knowledge because its getting old. It was an issue before duping and duping is a virus caused by the lack of guns to begin with

Ok, I agree and disagree. I agree that duping is an issue and I've already said that. I agree that the game doesnt need to make loot too much easier to find and that it already didnt take long to get decent gear. What I dont agree with is duping being the sole reason for issues and I dont agree that we don't need military camps or AR spawn points closer to shore. I'm not asking for a military base on the shore, I'm just saying 1 or 2 site with a few tents that will spawn and AR. I'm not interested in having to kill my self 20 times just to get a spawn point closest to a good route. I actually would prefer luck of the draw on a respawn. What I dont particularly care for is still having to run 15 to 20 minutes inland just to get to the first military camp (which are the only places to find an AR), then loot 1 to 5 tents that have already been ransacked by 59 other players. My point is that there is no reason not to leave a few extra tens and a few extra guns around. Duping is irrelevant as this has been an issue long before duping was. Yes duping is now an issue, but I'm saying that this has all been a problem since before. so lets stop beating a dead horse -

This game has long catered to certain gamers long before duping was a major issue. It did when the game first released on console and it did on PC as well. I've been playing it for a long time and it's always been then way. Duping or no duping. Are dupers to blame for anything, yes. They are not the only problem though. Their reason for duping is the same thing I'm complaining about. The game is designed for people with no live. If you believe otherwise, then perhaps you need to take a look at your own and find something to do other than play dayz all day lol -

As in said before though, the game is fun and a great idea (besides all the bugs and glitches). The main problem is just that they cater to only one part of the gaming community that has a ton of time on their hand to play. There are plenty of guys I know that love the more serious milsim type games and would love to play this but they wont because it takes way to long to find decent stuff. And it's really not worth the time invested if you die. Dont get me wrong, for this game, I like the aspect of losing your loot when you die because it gives me more of a reason to fight and survive and makes firefights even more intense. It just shouldn't be this damn hard to regain that lost loot. A week worth of searching and still no AK is a fine example -

So your logic and fix to this is to have to go kill someone with an ak just to be able to have one? That's nothing more than a bandaid to the problem here and it's also very flawed because you cant just snap your fingers and find other players to kill. Trust me, me and my buddies play this game because we like the survival aspect but our main style of play is to set ambushes and find firefights. We have killed quite a few people since we started playing again last week, but so far none of them had an ak or m4. And that was away from the coast too. Also, as I said before about time applies to this as well. We've played on nights where we went hunting for people in high medium and low servers. We would go from military camps to large cities and in between. As I said in my OP, not everyone can devote their life to a video game, sometimes even finding people to fight takes time. So relying on looting other people is not a fix -

No, we needed more loot long before duping became a major problem. Not alot more, just more. Atleast in more locations would be better. Military camps all across the maps and you could only find a decent gun or bag at a select few. There are what, 60 people in a server? That's a few select places to find good stuff where 59 other people ransacked already. Then people have the audacity to complain about server hopping. Less rare loot = less server hoping and less need to try duping. Ok, maybe duping is a huge reason to why it's harder to find aks and m4s, but the developers also made them more rare as well which definitely didnt help matters. Duping apparently causes the game to see too many of a gun on the server so there is less respawning of that weapon. So they release a patch which is supposed to fix the duping issue. Yet they didnt wipe the servers like they should have to eliminate the stored guns? Some fix that was. You eliminated the alleged cause but you didnt rectify it. -
They felt the need to add two new weapons, Yet no one can even find the basic assault rifles like the M4 or Ak anymore. This is a old soviet russian country side with multiple military camps around the map. They should atleast make the AK more common. It makes no sense they are this rare
