if i wanted to play a shootem up game id pick one of the thousands of games that do it infinity times better than dayz. the point the OP was making is that dayz has a lot more to offer yet people still just run around shooting everyone, ignoring all other aspects of the game.

ive been playing since .28 and regardless of the devs intentions, it has always been KOS.

this game always has been and always will be a KOS FPS and there are about a thousand FPS titles that are infinity times better at it than dayz. i havent played since .60 and recently came back. i haven't ran into a single person who didnt try to kill me the second they saw me. not one single person. ive had 2 bases looted since it only takes 2 minutes to get around any defense you could possibly have. tonight i experienced a hacker who appeared out of nowhere when i was getting into my volga and they were dressed in the identical outfit i had on. of course he killed me without hesitation. ive lost any hope that after 6 years this game will be anything other than a KOS running simulator and decided to delete it from my pc.

5 cars, 2 LARs, 3 M4s from two well hidden bases defended with barbed wire, mesh containers and landmines gone within a few hours between yesterday and tonight. 2 cars i manged to get out of one base were taken as soon as i stashed them deep in the woods very far away from either base. i was returning to my vehicle while i was looting for nails and the second i get in my car, a guy dressed identical to myself (weird considering i had a black military jacket, assault helmet, gas mask, black backpack and cammo pants; not exactly common) appeared in front of me and did the usual KOS. this game has literally no hope of ever not sucking major ass.

base building is a useless waste of time. the grind to find all the tools, nails and lumber then all the labor to construct can be wiped in less than a minute when someone locates you base. i purchased dayz when it was in .28. i hadn't played since version .60 and came back in the past few weeks only to find out the futility of attempting to create the one thing ive been looking forward to since .28. ive seen the mods but not sure if even they are worth the time investment. edit: on second thought, i have lost any desire to play what will seemingly be forever a perma-death KOS running simulator.

"you have to take the good with the bad, most of the time the 'good' makes the 'bad' worth the effort." so true. i found an olga in dubky and fixed it up so i didnt have to walk all the way back up north. found the tire i needed for the ADA i was working on and another M4 (found it in a green cargo container west of lopatino of all places). worked out OK in the end but i really really wanted that LAR.

i was looking for a tire. i ended up finding an M4. heading back to my base, i found a helo crash site. i found my first ever LAR and a VSD. decided to drop off loot at base. i get attacked by wolves. killed 2. bit 2x but barely lost any blood and my health was still well over half and still in the white. one more bite and died. RIP all that precious loot.

i just spent over 4 hours hunting for a hammer (which you can find everywhere unless you need one). i finally found one and ran back to my vehicle. i got in and closed the door, but somehow the zombie chasing me could hit me through the door. i couldn't open it to get out and kill it so i fucking died. i cant formulate the words to explain how fucking pissed i am right now. i stopped playing over a year ago due to bugs and glitches and it looks like it will be another year before i have the patience to try again. if anyone is interested, there is a fully loaded car with a shit ton of cool gear located at kamyshovo.
