It’s not actually a water dial, it’s a temperature dial. So if it’s all the way to the right, it’s overheating. Anyway, to be be sure, always keep your radiator filled up.

Forget the crappy Reddit rumour. It was obvious it was nonsense... When players read the following (which IS true) “Bohemia Interactive reported "outstanding" financial results for 2019, grossing $68 million and making 4.5 million unit sales.” ... and you realise that a lot of that money came from DayZ... It does feel like a bit of a ‘fuck you’ to continue development with the bare minimum of staff. Don’t get me wrong, the game is in a great place right now, but there’s so much more that needs to be done. I hope that further development of the Enfusion engine will benefit DayZ in the long run, but even the most beloved fans can’t help feeling cynical.

Please make it so that you can only pull primary weapons off your back
ThePugman replied to Brother Hao's topic in Suggestions
I really love the realistic approach, but I know how this one ends... If you make it too slow to draw weapons, most players are never going to put them away. I think the speed from the shoulder is fine. Personally, I don’t think you should be able to grab ANYTHING quickly from the backpack... even loading mags from the backpack seems stupid to me... I’d also like to see realistic clothing/cargo. Don’t get me started on being able to carry a cooking pot in your jeans! Unfortunately, most players don’t care about realism. Even though this is supposed to be a serious, survival, ‘anti-game’. -
Why wouldn’t you just play modded? The vanilla experience has a specific vision that is more focused on realism. It’s a hardcore survival game, not a BR.

Regarding the new server hopping mechanic. I, and many others feel it’s crazy to end up back on the coast. Once again, legitimate players are being penalised for the way others use exploits. Whats the point in sharing the same hive (something you’ve always insisted you want to keep) when you put in a huge change that puts people off using it? i.e meeting friends, or to escape the night? I think the new mechanic would be fine, if it kicked in the SECOND time you server hopped, in a certain time frame. You shouldn’t be penalised so harshly for hopping once. This would still prevent ghosting, since they need to hop twice to do it. Is it to prevent duping? To put people as far away from their ‘dropped’ loot because I don’t think it will make that much difference, since dupers just need a squad member to pick it up for them. This issue will barely affect my gameplay, since I play on community, but we all want the balance to be correct. This could affect the player count in the long run. Don’t get me started on the people abusing the system to ‘teleport’... Which you know they’ll do. The words ‘running simulator’ are often thrown at this game, and if people can skip an hour long journey, they will. Doesn’t realism matter, in this sense? In my opinion, there should be spawn points in every town (which you cannot build around). When your server hop, you should spawn to the nearest town, or designated spawn location.

@EzyStriderPS4 From what I’ve heard, it’s impossible. I don’t know exactly what’s going on but it’s because light sources at a distance are different from regular light sources. They are ‘faked’ to give a similar effect. Zooming in messes with that. If they don’t ‘fake’ the effect, I imagine it’s a HUGE resource drain. The choice we have either to accept it, or not see lights at a distance. Anyway, doesn’t it mess with your immersion when your character magically zooms in with their eyes? 😉

Is it just me, or are vehicles terrible, again? Of course most vehicle problems are server and ping related. It’s no coincidence that 1.05 server performance has also been pretty bad, for me. Anyone else having issues? 2 days in a row, I’ve had 3 second freezes, whilst driving, which has caused me to crash. Once it made the car fly, and killed me. Second time, it flipped the car. Vehicles were running great in 1.04... What happened?

@drgullen Exactly what I was thinking, re the stages! Right now it’s just ON/OFF
-
@malkom-7b75c693685e9033 I love the storms. I just want more interesting penalties than losing health. That applies to everything. Hunger, dehydration, hypothermia, etc. It would be nice if there were different stages first, and you only lose health in the final stage. I’m not really a big PvP’er either, I just want to explore. These maps are already massive. Slowing down players just isn’t great in my opinion. Also, where’s the waterproof clothing? Only raincoats and firefighter pants keep you dry. Patrol gear needs to be, too. Also, it would be nice if they added waterproof jacket/pants that go over your existing clothing. Or maybe a poncho. Do trees definitely work as shelter? Because that’s cool, if so. I didn’t realise.

@Greensek Hypothermia is a killer on this map. As much as I’m loving Livonia, it’s really highlighted the weaknesses in those mechanics. The problem is you lose health too quickly. There needs to be more depth. There are supposedly ‘colds’ in the game (coughing, sneezing) but most people haven’t had one all year! You would think that being in the rain for 5+ minutes would trigger a cold, instead of nearly killing you. The storms with thunder and lightning are amazing spectacles. But, as I type this, my character has been indoors for 10 minutes now... I’m waiting for the rain to pass, because otherwise, it will kill me. Waiting for an RNG storm to finish is not exactly enjoyable gameplay. I want to explore the beautiful landscape, but I can’t. At the very least, we need more waterproof items! But I would prefer if there were more unique, but not ‘life-ending’ penalties. Earlier on, I was walking through heavy rain for no more than a minute, and I started losing health. The current system doesn’t feel suited to the heavy storms of Livonia.

I think they said there was a chance of that happening. Not necessarily great odds though. Last night I opened the door of a house and a bear charged me, knocking me out. It then proceeded to maul me to death. I can’t fault what happened, though. It was dark, pouring with rain. Thunder and lighting blasting through the skies 🤤. I sought refuge in a lone house in the forest. That was enough to satisfy me. But then I heard the angry beast roaming around outside! It was genuinely terrifying and one of the most atmospheric experiences I’ve had in gaming. (by the way, I opened the door to get a better look - assuming it would be too big to fit through... don’t do that 😂)

@Asmondian With them adding the new blood changes, it will be intriguing if they can tie it together with ‘check pulse’ and unconsciousness. So you could feel someone’s pulse, and if it’s weak you’d know that person is low on blood, perhaps? Not necessarily that, but something like it would be interesting. Blood pressure blood loss is certainly an interesting feature that will add some much needed depth to the medical system. It’s an exciting time for the game.

Does Blue Screen on PS4 need a fix ASAP?
ThePugman replied to FirefighterSFVFD_1's topic in New Player Discussion
I answered ‘no’ because I thought it was a ridiculous poll. -
Great list @Asmondian Don’t agree with all of them, but a few certainly stood out.... 7) Full Blood bags and full Saline bags as spawned items in the world Nice idea. Full blood bags could spawn in that refrigerator they were going to implement. (Perhaps recoloured to fit a medical theme) 10) Tripod should be able to carry as a melee weapon Agreed. This is a painful item to carry around. It should have an attachment slot on a mountain backpack, or a least go on the back. Then again, I suppose it’s meant to be a base item. The portable gas stove is the best for travelling. 12) Ability to turn the Radios (Walkie-Talkies) on/off while attached I don’t mind this so much, but they need to PLEASE remove the static. I can’t bear it for more than a minute. Plus, there are just more possibilities, story-wise, if you can use a radio secretly. 15) Saline Bags should offer and hydration value when applied I made a ticket on this recently. Apparently it’s been passed on to the devs. https://feedback.bistudio.com/T145327 19) Add a greater effect / benefit when applied medical items to another players 100% agree. We need more reasons to risk interaction with other players. Although I’ve heard that there a major changes to blood in the next update, so it will be interesting to see how that plays out, first. 20) Allow players to jog when they are restrained and make handcuffs stronger Walking when restrained is just silly. Restraining someone can actually make things more difficult. But we also really need non lethal weapons. As you say, one of the unique aspects of DayZ, ‘holdups’ barely happen now. Can we get bean bag rounds for the shotguns? As seen in modded servers? What about the shock pistol, and the dart gun. These weapons add so much more than the typical PvP we have now. Players are more likely to interact if they have control over a situation. Non-lethal weapons give them more control. 33) Infected agro proirizing moving/live targets over unconscious players This was also discussed on the tracker. I hope they haven’t forgotten about it, either. There’s no bigger anti-climax than dying in this manner. https://feedback.bistudio.com/T139171 ... Regarding the new blood changes that have been mentioned by Sumrak. (Blood loss dependent on blood pressure) This is a really interesting, and positive change for the medical side of the game. I also really hope that they can do something with unconsciousness, and make it more nuanced. When was the last time anyone really had to perform CPR, or use an eppy pen to revive? We need longer unconsciousness (or uncon based on many variables) to make it more interesting. It would be nice if it happened more often too, instead of the constant ‘one-taps’ that have been occurring recently. @Derleth Even a dripping sound would work well as a bleeding indicator. When you see the blood flow out of you in the inventory screen, you have to think that it would make some kind of sound. @Tarkules I’ve wanted a blood compatibility chart in hospitals for a while. It’s pretty stupid that you have to Google to find out which types are compatible. Look at how beautiful and detailed the static in-game maps are. Something like that, but with medical information, on the wall in every hospital would be great.

It’s a know bug https://feedback.bistudio.com/T143724 It’s also having an effect on zombies https://feedback.bistudio.com/T144316 although they may be responding to the sound of the impact. Pistol suppressors are also buggy. They work brilliantly with other players, but attract too many zombies.

It’s exactly the same on PC, where duping isn’t an issue. It’s just the way the loot economy is set up. I didn’t find any high tier loot for months, but yesterday I found a Fal at a chopper, and an M4 + AK101 in someone’s buried stash. The elation I felt, was worth it! The gear fear is also very real right now... I do agree that stashes should despawn faster than the current rate. High tier weapons just sitting in the ground for weeks is a fucking tragedy.
-
Think OP might be talking about the city pubs. The kind right next to the military tent in Elektro. And yes, they’re shite.
-
@SillyJoe What exactly are the issues? Try and use the feedback tracker to report them. It really helps the devs out!
-
@EzyStriderPS4 @SillyJoe No assumptions, no bullshit. There has always been very slight aim assist on console, for ZOMBIES ONLY. This isn’t the first time this has been spoken about in these forums. In the past, I’ve linked footage of the lead designer talking about it.
-
Aim assist was ALWAYS there on console. Now they've given you an option to disable it. And no to blood! PC had to endure it for weeks. You should too! 😂
-
This was a thing back in 1.03, and for several patches before that. It's really not THAT big a deal. When you get to that stage, you're carrying too much shit anyway. Anyway, they've acknowledged it, and will hopefully be fixed in 1.06
-
Probably more like a problem to do with playing as a 1.04 character. The sickness icon will be the rag infection from 1.04.... Same thing happened on PC. Should resolve when you die. Since it's the rag sickness, it has no effect anyway.
-
@Tyrant462905 "Duct tape refresh doesn't work".... You think that should be an intended feature? Meds DO work by the way. How would you know if you haven't even left your base?
-
I just lost several geared characters?
ThePugman replied to Jake Blake's topic in New Player Discussion
No, I really wouldn’t give a shit. I’m an adult with real problems. Chernarus is my escape. -
Whilst nothing is set in stone, I think it’s a pretty safe bet that the DLC will come with or after 1.06. The video includes content they promised would not be hidden behind a paywall (the truck, books, bears). The map is set for November 13th release on CONSOLE. That means they have a lot to do, to get 2 patches out by then. As a pc player, I’m happy, because surely 1.06 experimental is damn close! Either that, or more delays. Going on console development speeds this year. It seems highly unlikely they will get 2 patches AND new DLC out in 6 weeks. We will see, though.
