@DayzDayzFanboy Check their Twitter ‘replies’. It’s heavily implied that it will be a new map.

@awalsh47I believe that most of the tools admins use to track players are mods (community online tools?). Since mods aren’t coming to console any time soon, this shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
-
@McWendy Yeah, I already know all the old features but just wondering which ones were broken enough to abandon. I’d be surprised if the V3S doesn’t come. Its in the offline mod, and you can even get in it and add parts. Same with the fishing traps . Although that doesn’t mean they won’t abandon them now. @Kirov (DayZ) Yeah, it was strange how they said full parity wouldn’t be possible due to the engine differences. This is supposed to be part of Bohemia’s engine going forward for many years, so how could it not accommodate stuff that was attempted years ago?

@ImpulZ Sorry, I’m struggling to let this go, because I think you’re making a big mistake. You said this... “Advanced health system – We improved it in 1.04 and will continue the balancing. However, at this time we will not commit to implementing complex medical/injury gameplay – while this is desired by many hardcore players, we are still struggling to fully explain the complexity of the existing system to the majority of players. Moving forward, we are working on a nice balance between authenticity and accessibility.” I, and many others have asked numerous times for feedback on the specifics of health, illnesses, etc. So we know the reasons behind sickness. I don’t ever remember getting, or seeing a reply to these questions. You call that struggling to explain the system? I call it not even attempting to explain the system. I can handle not dealing with an intricate disease system right now, but broken limbs? If you asked your entire playerbase if they want this feature, I’m sure the majority would say yes. You must have seen the amount of requests for it every time you release a patch. What I’m getting from this feedback, is that the player base is too stupid to understand . Maybe I’m reading too much into it. I hope I’m wrong.

Have you got a source for that information about Gamescom?

@RicKaTaNski Private servers fix so many of those problems. Persistent meat ballers and dupers can be banned. Also, it’s very difficult to dupe on a private hive.
-
@Kirov (DayZ) To be fair dude, Bohemia have a very good reputation when it comes to quality DLC. Look at the Arma series. As long as we don’t see micro transactions, it’s all good. Also, they have hinted that it will be a new map.
-
You are getting private servers. Regardless if they are rented or official, this will solve the problem of server hoping on the coast, because they will be private hive. Trust me, coming from PC, most people will play on the community servers.

I agree, I have concerns. Especially now that the remaining goals for this year, seem to pretty much be the same goals that were outlined in January’s status report. Bug fixes, stabilising, balancing, etc. re DLC, if you check their responses in twitter, they pretty much hinted that it will be a new map. So that’s good. I hope we are wrong about the lack of features. I mean, that stuff would kinda come under a roadmap, which they don’t do anymore. This, as a tight-lipped status report, makes sense, given that that’s how they are, these days.

I see balancing is a main focus.. what about balancing on one leg due to a fracture? Seriously though, no advanced medical system? People have said the game has been made more casual for a while now. I guess this is the confirmation, right here. You just implemented menu tips in 1.04, so how complex can it be? You break your leg, you need a splint/morphine to sort it out. Sorry, but it does sound like an excuse. If you’re having trouble implementing a complex system yourself, then that’s fair enough, take all the time you need! But saying that players will find it too difficult to understand.. that goes against everything I’ve learnt about DayZ so far. On the whole, this report was great, especially for console. But to say I’m disappointed is an understatement. I hope you guys prove me wrong. I still have a lot of faith in this game and you guys,, but this report took a chunk of that away.

Can we be sure that’s the new animation is related to zombies breaking down doors? The animation appeared when we were given the ability to break open doors with melee. I’m guessing it was implemented as a signal for players to stop. Then again, if players can now break locks with their hands, why not zeds? Just thinking about the amount of times I end up in a house surrounded by the infected. Couldn’t afford to be complacent if they add this feature!
-
Yeah, it won’t be out this week. I imagine it will be sent for submission tomorrow (Wednesday), and on consoles by next Wednesday.
-
Because there are much bigger issues, to be honest. They have confirmed an in-house fix, and that it will be updated in the future.
-
@aux7 Nice ideas. While we are at it, a tool belt for base building would be cool!

Is duct tape getting a nerf at some point? It’s been confirmed that the glitch fix is coming, so no need to discuss that here. But even without the glitch, its powers of repair are insane! My suggestions would be to make it so you can only repair a particular item ONCE with duct tape. Thoughts?
-
Yes, all good points. When the glitch is fixed, they will definitely need to rebalance things. I like the idea of the repair kit uses being increased (apart from duct tape, obviously). Also, perhaps some kind of repair box. A container that can fit certain repair kits, but massively reduce the space they take up.

PC has not many duppers, but from wot I here console is crazy with the SUPPER DUPPERS and there NEW LOCATIONS! TENT CITY SEA CHEST VALLY M4 MOUNTIN AK ALLY WAY LAR LANE IF UPU FIND ANY DUPPERS OR DUPPEDGEAR. TELL YOU’RE MUM!!!!M

Keys would be nice, so we could lock cars. Then again, I stumbled upon a fully kitted car just outside the airfield once. It was so exhilarating, driving it away, thinking that the owner was about to pop me any second. That feeling shouldn’t necessarily be taken away from players. I don’t think the devs want us to over-hoard our stuff anyway. I’m sure Nespesney said that things like bases should always be at risk of being broken into. Look at some of the servers that have tweaked base raiding, making it harder. You have to hold left mouse button for up to 20 minutes on some of them! How is that fun gameplay? All for the sake of people, essentially, having ‘gear fear’. It’s only loot, at the end of the day (more relevant if cars were easier to get going, I guess).
-
I’ve actually been playing on The Red Zone who use this exact mod, and it works very well. My personal preference is first person, too. But we all like different things. That’s why we have a choice of servers, people!
-
People like 3rd person, nothing wrong with it. 3rd person is arguably the ‘iconic’ DayZ perspective.
-
Does this mean you can no longer pick up a smoke grenade, once it’s been activated? Or is it just frag grenades/flash bangs?
-
Best thing to do is remove any ruined parts, ASAP. Cars are far too delicate, though. One tiny bump and the radiator gets ruined. I’d much rather they make the engine parts stronger, and make the body and wheels be the only areas at risk of being severely damaged.
-
Yes! It’s bound to happen surely? I mean, rotten food was in the legacy engine, right? Fruit, veg and meat shouldn’t last very long. I also notice there is a refrigerator in the game files. The description says it makes your food last longer. Didn’t rice severely dehydrate you pre .63, too? I’m sure I saw a video of someone nearly dying after being force fed 3 bags of rice... lol. Powdered milk is another one. Would love to be able to create proper meals, too. A stew for example, you could cut up some meat, mushrooms, veg, etc. and boil it in a cooking pot. I guess there are bigger fish to fry (lolol) at the moment.
-
I assume reattaching gear to infected was causing serious issues? It does seem like a strange thing to change. If it IS the case, though, I’m sure everyone would rather have better performance, than keep such a minor feature.

How very altruistic of you 😂
