  1. How the fuck do you have 500 posts here and not realize that Rocket has been planning this from this start?

Raw Mouse Input Is Crucial To Immersion

I'm with the OP. Raw mouse input = better control = better gameplay = more fun. The end.

    Let´s talk about FOV...

Having more FoV than you would in real life + monitor bezel dividers = more immersion? Sounds like you're sacrificing immersion for a gimmick to me. I don't give a shit if you like to throw your money away towards 3 monitors - I'd rather use that entire budget in one monitor. That way you can have better picture - thus better immersion.

    Rolling Update Rev. 0.30.113953

The patch isn't going to be out yet for awhile :( Wait until after it's out before complaining about something they intend to fix.

    Rolling Update Rev. 0.30.113953

Thanks for beginning to implement anti-cheat SOONER than later.

    Let´s talk about FOV...

Agreed. Fuck the people who bought 3 monitors - some people think just because they have more money, they deserve an advantage. You can't do that. You can't lower FOV without zooming the image in. Otherwise you'd just have black borders on the side of the image.

    Suicide rock near Kamyshovo

Is the game tough, or is it just wasting most of the playerbase's time with its random spawning? Almost near any isolated spawn, I see tons of dead bodies near the closest suicide-spots. Maybe it's not the players that are idiotic, but the spawn system?
  8. Cheats have been floating around for this game for a few weeks now. You don't even need to search for them to have them appear - just attempting to google information on weapons and spawn locations brings up download links and instructions for hacking. It's only a matter of time until every other player you meet appears to be a hacker, because that person encountered a hacker not long before that. No one is going to bother playing the game, and no bugs will be sought out if all the only players left are script kiddies trying to troll and 'dominate'. I vote that anti-cheat priority should be increased. At the very minimum, provide protection against Cheat Engine, basic memory-value hacking, basic scripting, etc. - it's not hard - it's literally the exact stuff you've encountered before. The code to detect all of this already exists, just take the time to locate it and reintegrate it. A small measure like this would provide immense pay-offs in the next months of player testing. Why repeat the same reputation that the DayZ mod had initially, as well as WarZ? This game isn't leaving alpha any time soon, might as well do some minimum level security to make it a little more enjoyable for everyone.

Anticheat needs to be integrated FAST....

This won't be patched in the next update - Rocket doesn't plan to address this type of stuff for months. That's why I think attention should be drawn to it so perhaps it will be addressed within the next 3 updates instead of the next 12.
  10. I want you dead for even suggesting such a thing.

    Guitar and bonfire

I do *points to avy* Don't have to be edgy to have a good taste in music ;)

    Respawn button is grey

You have to be unconscious or have broken legs to commit suicide. This is to prevent people from killing themselves too quickly to get the spawn they want.

    Everything is Gray (Black/White)

    Working as intended
  14. In real life I'm not bound by a turn-restriction, I don't see why it should be the same in the game. It is nigh unplayable with the mosue controls the way they are now. It's hard to run through buildings, feels like I'm a tank or something.

    Item condition

Has anyone recorded the effects of item condition? Call me blind but I couldn't locate any information on this stuffz. I want to know things like...Does a pristine bat do more damage than a worn bat? Is a pristine orange more filling than a badly damaged orange? Are badly damaged handcuffs liable to break?
  16. t1337dude

    Item condition

I noticed clothes' appearance changes based on condition too. So clearly people are wrong when they say it's not implemented. What they mean to say is that it's not fully implemented. But to what degree is it implemented? Scopes? What else? Anyone test bipods? Isn't item degragation implemented? I think I saw my axe's quality drop after use. You can't use broken items, correct? If anything, it sounds like a good bit has already been implemented.

    Item condition

All that wasted time switching out my bad gear for pristine gear I came across :(
  18. If you're a super cool guy like me and have 2 copies of DayZ and 2 gaming computers, you can heal yourself with blood bags. I might even buy a 3rd account, stock up on blood bags and supplies, so I have a medic handy always :)
  19. t1337dude

    Item condition

Cool. Anyone have any solid information on what the intended effects are going to be once implemented? As well as information on what's currently implemented?

    Combat Logging/Server Hopping Brainstorm Thread

This would solve the issue, 99% of the way. The only thing I'd recommend is a player/bullet radius. If there are any players or shots landing within a certain radius (say, 25m), then the log out timer resets.

    PvE servers to cure KoS?

Last night, a person with an M4 entered a building that I was hiding in. I drove an axe into the guy's skill as he ran by me (so I could use his weapon) and killed him. His corpse lectured me over the mic that I was everything that's wrong with DayZ. So this got me thinking. The only real problem with KoS is that it's too harsh for many players. They can't cope with the idea that enemy players are more dangerous than the zombies (which is a common theme in zombie movies). Why not implement PvE servers, so all those players can take their carebear personalities elsewhere? There may not be an incredible lot to do on them - but that's the point, people can't handle surviving against multiple types of enemies in the apocalypse. They begin to get incredibly whiny and blame their frustration on everyone else.

    PvE servers to cure KoS?

Cool. I'm glad this thread got some posts. KoS is a gameplay feature, stemming from PvP, which is also gameplay feature. The problem is some people want it both ways. You simply can't erase KoS without erasing PvP elements. As long as you can possibly kill other players - players are going to do so, just because they can. They can incentivize teamwork as much as they want - ultimately this is a zombie apocalypse simulator, and the "it's either me or you" mentality is completely fitting. As I see it, there is absolutely no way you can prevent people from KoS in a meaningful way. 2 Different Common Solutions that Aren't Really Solutions Incentivize Teamwork - I don't care if making friends with another player could give me more health, more vehicles, gear, gameplay options, etc. - as long as that same player can always potentially be the one that kills you, the trust issue becomes a bigger issue any other issue, and there's no good reason to keep your life constantly on the 'edge'. Players with good gear will always be afraid of other players, no matter what potential benefit they can be. Punish Bandits - This has been implemented in the form of breaking gear, and in the past, forced bandit costumes. Ultimately, this is only a small incentive to not kill another player. Killing other players is not only about attaining gear, it's about attaining a safe environment. For many people, it's purely about the sport of the hunting and killing. They could make it so that by killing a player, you break all of his gear, get negative reputation, etc. - it ultimately doesn't matter - another player can always be reasonably deemed to be a threat, there's nothing that can prevent KoS. If anything, the option to KoS should be embraced. It makes the game a lot more entertaining and tense. I think it's a great idea to add incentives for teamwork, but it will certainly never stop people from killing others on sight. Some players will never embrace the idea of KoS, and DayZ will never be for these players. If you give them a PvE server to fool around in, at least everyone can be satisfied. No reason to nerf the PvP aspects of the game for people that enjoy PvP, the game has reached its popularity and status through PvP alone (nobody really plays DayZ for the zombies).

    PvE servers to cure KoS?

No benefit to teamwork? Get the fuck out of here dude. 2-players could take out a battalion of lone-wolves, simply by pooling together their resources and using blood transfusions. The benefit to teamwork is IMMENSE as is. Should god be bestowing loot to survivors who are nice? I don't get it.
