Baboon, don't go inland until you have basic survival gear, hatchet, knife, matches. With these you can kill zombies and animals(hatchet) get wood ( hachet) start a fire and cook meat. Harder to find hachet and matches in the far north due to lower number of towns. To the far west is a large town with 2 general stores a good place to farm equipment and seems to have less players there on most servers. After you gut animal wait a second then an option to take meat or gear will appear, use gear or just point yourself at the animal then hit your gear button and you should see raw meat. place in your inventory go hide in woods to make a fire and cook it.

Ohhh yea it's intentional, it's also hilarious to see a group of 4 people break up in 4 directions and have one or two taken down by z's as their friends scream "over here no over here"

In real life us non bandits would hunt bandits down and string them up. If this was real you would have to band together under a leader because otherwise when you went to sleep you'd wake up being eaten or getting a load of buckshot in the head. Think California in the gold rush period. Vigilante groups hung hundreds of suspected theives just to make sure they got the right ones. Let the bandits get gear on non pvp servers, an hour into their pvp game they will be dead and screaming that someone looted their corpse.

He he today a guy shot me and as i lay dead my character glitched, as the bandit opened and rummaged through my stuff i opened his pack and took his blood bags, morphine and epi pens we must of spent 60 seconds trading gear back and forth before he realized something was wrong and started to move away. My character stood up then and just disappeared then the outside door of the grocery opened and I found myself in the login screen. I was laughing my butt of because I had most his supplies at that time.

It's an exploit, the temptation is there just try not to do it. However the sheer rage of the backshooting bandit when you log out away from him warms the cacles of my heart

Really got to agree, this idea would help the players that want to work together but shoot on sight or just wave at the present time because we are all bandit terrified.

To Trunkz Jr, AAny chance of getting a walkthrough on how to join? I've never played with headsets until I discovered Dayz a couple of weeks ago. I have no idea how this stuff works and starter info on the web is paltry or written at a level with acronyms that this old jarhead just isn't puzzling out. Also is you group taking new members? I'm quite tired of being a survivor with a heart and getting backshot for it. A team to play with sounds like the only real way to go.

Don't know about COD kiddies, Arma 2 Dayz is the 2cd online shooter I've ever played. AA being the first 5-6 years ago. Zombies are supposed to have unlimited endurance, most of the stories/literature say so. They are also supposed to be attracted to sound and (usually) be slower then a speedwalking human. If that ain't so this old marine says give me unlimited stamina too so I can at least try to outrun them, otherwise what's the point? If I cannot possibly survive more then an hour or to Why would I want to play?

Used one once at the airfield tower, about 70 zombies later I was down to my last mag of suppressed ammo when they finally quit climbing the ladder, on the ground you would need at least a squad backing you up.

Dude dojn't know where you live but here in Phx Arizona you find guns and ammo in at least a third of the houses. I once built a underground shooting range at 150 feet for a lesbian with no less than 15 guns in her house, plus 2 large people hating great danes.

Hi I keep getting a bin.cfgweapons error. I can play but I haven't found a weapon in ages. I have updated the mod and it does show a weapons file so any cures for this? thx

Friendly gov't paradrop food, water, and weapons to survivors. Imagine the mad rush of survivors to the drop sight. Watch as the zombies follow the moving parachute to the ground. See the survivors trying to kill all the z's and each other to get the goodies. MMMMM good times.

After half an hour of sneaking, sweating bullets and being stepped on by zombies I finally crawl to where I can see into the blding that might hold gear. What do I see? 2-5 zombies crowded into a small blding waiting for someone to snack on. Mindless undead forever hungry remember? They should be wandering the map looking for food. Not camping an empty blding.

I don't mind the respawn/clan thing, that's what friends are for. Plus if you think about it when bad things happen people clan up and kill things. Think medieval times, or the early American settlers. Everyone lived within running distance of the fort or a fortified blding and headed for it and weapons when in trouble. My problem is all the people that just kill everyone.

I want starter weapon too, and no it's not cause zombies kill, people with guns and hatchets kill me. Ladder bugs get me alot too as well as crawling indoors. Zombies are an annoyance.

Pfft, everyhouse and shed has a weapon in it. Every stick and curtain is a potential moveable lightsource. I can make a club from a tree in 180 seconds with no tools, a broom handle or mop makes a dandy spear and a tied on crosspiece a zombie stopper. Stick him and run, the protuding piece of wood will slow him down, and you could easily carry 4-5, more if you a smart enough to make a quiver, so yea, the game is unrealistically hard. You can't cover all improvised weapons but Molotov cocktails, instant zombie torch for those dark nights, just stay ahead of him. By the way, my car has a 3 day supply of food 2 knives, a hundred foot of rope, and a Leatherman in the trunk. Plus a 20 lb bag of cat litter for winter. Paranoid? Just prepared.
