As titles states, I've edited the damage, blood and shock values in the weapons/melee/config.cpp file, but they dont have any effect. I tried setting ridiculously high values to be sure, and its definitely not registering any changes i make. I also tried editing ammunition stack sizes and damage values and these were ignored too. Is there something else i'm missing? Thanks.

It's contained within the init.c file. Just follow the structure of the code already there and use the types.xml file to track down the class names of the items you want and add them. Using a program like sublime text editor will help with editing as it colours everything and makes it much easier to read.

Recipe Mod only Works Offline. Wont Spawn Result

Got it working. Disabled all other mods and it works fine. Not sure what mod is the cause, will have to do some tests. -

My recipe mod is working just fine offline and spawns the result every time, but when testing on my server it wont spawn the result. It goes through the crafting process, but once finished there's no result and no ingredients are used. I'm also having trouble with another mod not spawning results from its recipe too. I'm all out of ideas with this one and would love some suggestions. Cheers.

Oh nice, thanks for the super quick reply! I don’t want to ask too many more questions before having a go myself, but is it possible to create a scope proxy that I can attach to the scorpion? So for creating new attachment slots for a backpack, I’ll make the proxies and position them, but is there any further definition required? Or do you simply name the proxies and then add the “inventorySlot=proxyname”? Thanks again!

Hello everyone, hopefully the collective modding brain here will have the answers I need as I’ve hit a wall and can’t continue. I started modding DayZ at the start of this week and have made some okay progress so far. I’m not a programmer at all, but after studying the code I’ve managed to make sense of how some things work and I’ve been changing the size of items in the inventory and setting the inventory slot for items so they can be attached to belts and bags etc. I’ve also been trying to attach a scope to the cz61 Scorpion, and have managed to get the scope slot to appear and the scope attaches, but you can’t see the scope on the gun and when ADSing the camera points down and back towards the player. Now I’ve looked absolutely everywhere and can’t find any script or config file that defines the positioning of scopes on guns, so I’m assuming it’s defined by a parent bone on the gun model itself, probably labelled scope or something, and the scope attaches to the bone and your ADS view is then aligned to the scope? Also, how are attachment points defined? For example, the two points on backpacks labelled “chemlight” and “walkietalkie”, are their positioning defined by bones on the backpack model? How is the scale and orientation of the items attached to those slots defined? I made it so a compass could be attached to the walkietalkie slot, but it’s scale and rotation is a bit off, and I’d like to fine tune it. Also I want to start adding additional attachment slots to backpacks, but I’m assuming it’s possibly like gun scopes and is defined by bones? If this is the case, how am I able to open the models and edit them? They’re are binary files and the editor won’t open them. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you!

How about with the next update simply changing the names of all banned items and weapons and adding the words "banned" at the end or start. That way if anyone see them and they still try to collect, then they have no excuse. As a new player, i don't now half of the gear you can get in this game, and even if an item had no icon or name and looked a little different, i probably still wouldn't know it was a hacked item. You can say that people need to read lists of items you cant have, but that's just another way these hackers are affecting the games of honest players. What kind of gamer wants to take up a new game and then have to read lists of banned items they cant have? It kind of ruins the experience for them don't you think? This game is already serious enough as it is, don't force players to read bloody terms and conditions relating to what items you can actually use. I think in a way, its passing the responsibility of the developers to fix and prevent the issues over to the gamers, don't you think?. "We cant fix the problems, so you need to make sure you don't make a mistake". Prevention is the key, not punishments that affect everyone.

Hi guys, I'm a noob and i asked this same question yesterday and you know what? No body helped. So i hope this helps you guys, because it seem to have fixed the issue for me. Now before you try what i did, try this first: Once you have connected to your server and the game has started, alt+tab back to windows and close Six Launcher down. Now go back to the game and see if its stopped. If that doesn't work, here's everything i did: Download and install this beta patch: http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php It will say something about having to reinstall whole game just to remove this beta.. i risked it, it was worth it. Once installed, there will be a shortcut in your "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead" dir called "Launch Arma2 OA Beta Patch". Right click on this shortcut and go to properties, and where it says "Target:", add this to the end (without the quotation marks): "-mod=@dayz". Now run it and see if you can start a multiplayer game and connect to the DayZ servers that are listed. Be sure to select servers running the latest version, as the old servers are not compatible. Also, another thing i did, was start ARMA OA by itself, and go into the expansions menu and activate DayZ in there. Just happened to me too. Have latest version, been waiting all day for a server that's not outdated (running old version) and when two local servers pop up, i connect and get kicked as soon as i connect. Getting pretty tired of trying to get this game to work. Its an absolute mess.

Hello everyone, my first post and i have some questions. First of all, i hate to get off to a bad start by making my first post a good old rant, but it has to be done as im losing my F'n mind. I purchased ARMA CO on Saturday night and after finally getting everything downloaded updated and installed by Monday (yep good old aussie IP's), its now Tuesday and i've only been able to play DayZ twice, and both times were frustrating to say the least. My first issue is that Arma2 and DayZ have a pausing issue that i cant fix. Every 5-8 seconds the game locks up for about 3-4 seconds and then continues again. This is very much like a latency / lag issue, but it happens offline in ARMA's single player campaign as well. Performance wise, the game runs very smooth in between the pauses, with a nice high FPS. I have tried turning off everything and setting all visuals to low quality and its still no good. I read some people say a fan pointed towards their PC's internals helps, I have read people say you should defreg your HD or reinstall Windows or underclock your GPU. Seriously, who the hell comes up with these solutions?! I haven't seen a solution to this issue anywhere, just experienced users telling noobs like myself to try the above fixes. Pfft. My system specs are: 3gb ram, AMD 64x2 6000+, 2gb 6950, Win7, Fan pointed at internals :-) Now another issue im having is that since doing the recent update, no servers are running the new version and im unable to play DayZ. There is only one (decent speed) server that is up to date, but its been full for about 8 hours. I'm can deal with the outdated and full servers, that's life. But this pausing issue is keyboard shatteringly frustrating! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
