As far as I know server admins can ban for any reason they feel like. Of course that's not what the mod makers intended but I don't see how they can get around that unless they go out of their way to watch specific servers and block their access to the hive and continually do so should the server change ip addresses.

Can we have more sandbox activities like building towers, fortifying towns, cleansing towns of infected so npcs can repopulate leading to defending the towns from zombie hordes that can destroy barricades? Or something... Winter is coming. Would it be too much to ask for snow?

I've always thought of random survivors as the DayZ equivalent of boss battles. You don't have to win. You just have to not lose.

I think the BattleEye system regulates DayZ rather than VAC so you should be good. I don't think there's any harm in trying it out even if he's already vac banned.

Ya 'f' to change the throw mode of flares is the solution. I always keep some flares on me. One of the things on my things-to-do-before-I-die-without-dying-doing-it list is to find a lone survivor carefully sneaking through a zombie infested area and chuck a flare directly at him when zombies are near him.

Not long. Barns are the best place to find a quick weapon IMO. For anything useful in pvp you need to check deer stands or military camps. But barns are everywhere and usually have hunting rifles/shotguns, crossbows, and hatchets.

Well if you're up to it I recommend getting sniper and just camping out server hopper locations and picking them off as they connect. Of course that will require lots of patience. Nothing like vengeful bloodletting to bring out a smile.

I'm sorry I saw deathmatch and flags and immediately imagined players setting up ctf bases while bandits steal their flag and ride off in a jeep. And I think it was diablo 1 where you could kill anyone and loot their body completely without exception (aww the good old days when we were little brats with not so friendly 'friends'). Of course they nerfed that for d2 and 3.

Would be nice to try it once as this might make standoffs more possible between groups as normally if you're close enough to chat you're close enough for a guaranteed sniper headshot. I do feel the difficulty in sniping becomes exponential when using assault rifles at distances greater than 300m. Sounds like the factory a little bit north of the quarry but south of berezino. There's a hospital in a town 1 or 2 klicks north westish of there (southwest of berezino) if that's where you are. I love barns. Particularly when there's only zombies on the upper parts of the barns. You can make noise and it will startle them into running off the upper floors and suiciding. Plus its a great place to deal with zombie mobs as you can just hatchet camp the stairs and kill them while slow walk up and before they can even attack you.

I like this idea of snipers being nerfed/removed. It would be interesting to try it at least once before dayZ goes beta.
