If you have steam right click the game in your library, click properties and then choose set launch options. Input your launch options you want. If using retail/ shortcut on your desktop, right click/properties.. add a space after the text in the "Target" box and add the launch options you want.

    huge fps laggs

From what I've read your cpu is probably a bottleneck for the 6990, the i5 2500k will fix that and does just as well as the i7s for gaming. I have an i5 2500k, one of the best cpu's I've owned. 85c is pretty normal for a 6990, nothing to worry about, if you ever get up near 99c I'd start to worry. One easy way to see if you're being bottlenecked is watch the gpu usage while gaming, if it stays between 95-100% constantly, its not a bottleneck, if its below that then it is.

    DayZ crashes every 20 minutes!

Might try a different cpu if you have one or think about finding a computer shop and see if they can test and see what exactly is wrong, could be any number of hardware issues really, from psu to motherboard causing problems.

Is it possible to just randomly die?

Your body probably already sunk into the ground, I was looking for a streamers body for him who died the exact same way, if you listen closely it will sound like the flies are inside or directly below the tree. The trees are just getting revenge for all the Christmas trees we've slaughtered in the past. :P

http://www.rockpaper...-on-performance Good resource for the settings. Start Button/Documents/Arma 2 (for the following config files) -Terrain Detail and Object detail can really kill fps, I have a 6950 2gb and putting those 2 settings on anything above normal drops my fps by 10+ and causes my mouse/camera to be jittery. -Also, especially if you use Anti Aliasing, AtoC in the arma 2 config will kill your fps. Setting it to 0 in the config will counter this (smoothing on trees, foliage, grass) One thing to kind of help is turning ppaa to 3 in the config. -Under your username config for arma 2 is also mouse smoothing...setting this to 1 helps for some reason. Also a problem I've had recently with fps is with vysnc enabled, turning it off stopped some fps drops. The special launch options (-maxmem=2047 -exThreads=7 -nopause -world=Chernarus -winxp) in my experience are not needed anymore. Best advice is try changing the things I specifically listed as well as using the guide I linked to find a good balance, every computer is different so you'll really have to just try some things on your own. But these are a few good baselines. Before doing anything listed, I would get about 30-40 fps in the wilderness and towns, Now I range from high 40s in towns to 70+ in wilderness, while still looking nice. On the website it talks about FXAA, I tried this on max settings and so no increase in visual quality, same goes with Anti Aliasing which I have disabled, I do however have Anistropic Filtering set to high.

    Hotfix Build 1.7.2.3 Rolling Update

*If you have had fps stuttering* I've been messing around with settings trying to figure out what was causing it if anything, while it wasn't a problem in previous patches apparently it is now. If you have fps stutters every 2-3 seconds, disable vsync and it should take care of the problem.

    Hotfix Build 1.7.2.3 Rolling Update

Well I posted about an fps stutter in 1.7.2, now with this newest patch the fps stutter is even worse. Before every 2-3 seconds my fps would drop about 10 frames and freeze the screen for about 1 second. Now it drops by 20-30 fps every 2-3 seconds. Same location on singleplayer, 0 problems, this is also on all servers so I highly doubt its a server issue.

Horrible FPS with my monster rig, Help me out?

Right, I understand that, but everything else is essentially the same, figured I'd give him a good baseline of where to start tweaking.

Horrible FPS with my monster rig, Help me out?

I've got a very similar pc and aside from the fps stutter in 1.7.2 I'm at 60fps most of the time, major cities upper 40s. Screenshot attached with my ingame settings, as for the config file... My Documents/Arma 2 folder/Arma2oa.cfg -Look for and disable AToC -Set PPAA to 3 My Documents/Arma 2 folder/(Your Username) Search for "mousesmoothing" and make sure it =1 Also I've added (-mod=@DayZ -nosplash -world=empty -cpuCount=4 -exThreads=7 -maxmem=4096) to my shortcut, whether some of those work anymore, better safe than sorry. I've messed with my settings for quite awhile trying to find a good balance for graphics/performance and this is what I've come up with, for myself the high fps as well as no jerky camera movement when looking around. Try this out and see how it works for you. One great resource I've used for settings is; http://www.rockpaper...-on-performance My Specs (aside from what is in my sig) HiS Radeon HD6950 2gb OC i5 2500k @ 3.30ghz 8gb G.Skill Ripjaw X @ 1600mhz PC Power & Cooling 750W Silencer Mk.II (80 Plus Silver) 2x 500gb 7200rpm HDD

    Build 1.7.2 Rolling Update

I havent seen much regarding this but after updating to 1.7.2 I have an fps stutter while playing, I'm at 60 fps almost constantly while playing and no problems with 1.7.1.5 but now my fps will drop every 2-3 seconds from 60 to about 50 and it almost freezes my screen during this, granted just for a second.

Kick on Connecting on most but not all servers

I actually just got mine to work, by deleting my arma 2 beta folder, reinstalling the 1.60 patch and then installing the beta 94700. I'm not entirely sure why that worked but it did lol, maybe give it a try, as well manually updating my battleye did nothing, but after reinstalling the patch & beta patch, my battleeye updated once I joined a dayz game.

Kick on Connecting on most but not all servers

I haven't played since before the 1.7.1.5 update, everything is updated now and I'm having this happen. "You were kicked off the game" on every server I try to join. No reason given, haven't been banned.. haven't cheated or exploited or hacked at all. Arma 2 retail (non steam) Dayz 1.7.2 beta 94444 I'm using the new DayZ Commander launcher but even just using the in-game server browser is the same result.

    COMING SOON: Six Launcher Replacement

Looks really awesome, especially the friends feature and the server time. Only thing I would suggest/something I wished was in six launcher or the actual Arma 2 browser was a favorite system, I know you can just type the name of the server but it would make things easier. Other than that I'll definitely try this out when you release it!

To Simon travelling to NE airfield. From User

This reminds me of missed connections on craigslist lol Pretty awesome you found a friendly person though, only people who I find that are friendly are fresh spawns with no guns :P
  15. Server ban more than likely if caught by an admin, as for a global ban I don't think so. Going to be patched soon where it's not possible to do it anyway. Tell you friend to stop being a coward and play the game the way its meant to be played.
