Even though when they had integrity they said all dlcs will be free in the form of post 1.0 updates ... how so many things have changed in such a short amount of time . The Dayz devs have officially sold their souls and their game to the devil of the video game industry , which is the shallow end of gaming called battle royale ... but before that they cut out all the good and expected content from Dayz sa even though they had it all in a mod built on an engine with less “capability” than this enfusion engine that took them soooo long to make . We were supposed to be happiest with the product closer to the final 1.0 but it’s been the opposite with Dayz sa ; most of us were happier before when vehicles actually worked and we were only a few years into development with hunting and fishing working perfectly fine with an albeit simple yet working disease system . ... now everything is being streamlined or pushed off further into the distance even though we were promised quite the opposite when the engine was finally put into the game 100%.

I don’t even remember what I paid but I was far more excited to play the game at the time of purchase more so than I am now , which is funny cuz it’s like 3 times the original price or some shit ... they need to finish it (read : feature complete) and at that point it will be worth the price they are asking for now even with lots of bugs ... it seems worth it play for the player encounters still of course , but for a day one player like me there was soooo much more in the pipeline that I was so excited fro that we still have yet to get even a small taste of . I play dayz only a few hours a week now if that , where as when I was optimistic and 100% sure they would feature complete within just a couple years after the decision on the engine change , I would play for 8-10 hours every day off ... but times change, business plans expand , and I guess future games needed dayz to be a silly guinea pig for its testbed engine to drive the new series of BI games . I don’t mind this at all so long as dayz isn’t stagnated on for more years to come , we need to see serious progress soon or else it will be a huge kick in the nuts to us OGs who we’re supporting you before you dropped your mentality of “pc first” (pc version was supposed to be a feature complete pc version before the console releases debuted - your words not mine, this did not happen but you can say it’s “technically” feature complete, but many fans would disagree). -

Helicopters , barricading , advanced soft skills , bikes , c4 , shooting from vehicles , electricity to towns via substations , alcohol + weed , dynamic zombie hordes and much more... we deserve all these features as these were all teased and posted on status reports , roadmaps and trellos alike throughout the years as a “to come before or after 1.0” type deal. I was mostly excited for the advanced soft skills , I thought they would be a priority seeing as they can create long term persistent situations like medics and helicopter pilots or auto mechanics or what have you , but now it seems we will never get to that 😞 -

There goes any chance of all the features that were originally planned , this post is basically a reinforcement that they don’t have to stick to any more deadlines nor do they have to add any specific features that they are still missing (which there are many). I really hope the dayz dev team picks up the pace in terms of content adding , survival tweaking , and fixes , but not just one of the three because we need all 3 especially the content adding (game is bare bones compared to its planned content before the mess of a rushed beta and messy/rushed 1.0 launch). -
Survival shouldn’t be the main goal IMO when we have so many damn features missing still . These are Just some missing features from the ole’ Noggin that still need to be produced and put into game otherwise we paid for legit nothingness but what we’ve already seen in arma 2 dayz mod (or possibly even less): barricading aerial vehicles 2 wheeled vehicles advanced medical system advanced soft skills (pilots , medics , combat experts etc) bears cannabis , alcohol , tobacco and their positive / negative effects Zombie hordes climbing (shown about a year ago) shooting from vehicles (teased legit 2 years ago) rearview mirrors (“coming soon to a chernarus near you” MY ASS) Electrical repairing to reactivate town lights and substations (talked about a lot through the years) contaminated zones (where the hell are they Brian hicks??) carrying a body and/or helping a limping person Less than lethal weapons (thought they were all set and modeled 4 years ago , what happened?) diving under water (probably cut by now) birds to hunt (probably also cut for good - I swear this was talked about and on many early-year roadmaps , only to disappear on one of the heavily disappointing roadmaps of yesteryear) Namalsk map (like wtf) God there’s just so much to add (I’ve probably forgot some things too) and they have so very little time before we all go batshit ... what happened here ? Was it simply just a lust to push tons of copies that destroyed our well deserved beta and end of alpha which in turn created this Frankenstein mess of a game ? We were so close to finishing and now with all the feature cutting and manpower shifting from coding new features to building and advertising new clients (Xbox / ps4) we feel light years away from what dayz should be at its final state .

Yuck 🤢 survival was lost and now we have to go through another 1.5 years of them “bug fixing and configuring features” to be done with that BS and then finally maybe they will consider finishing the list of features that was on every single roadmap before “full 1.0 release” (if you can even call it that). -

Please make their “working hours” more effective somehow mr “I’m not a dayz dev” . We want dayz 1.0 not dayz “1.0”.

So trying to prove “ the other guys” wrong is a moot point seeing as the numbers WILL drop again unless the developers kick it into serious high gear - there’s just nothing in dayz right now worth seeing that the average steam chart population hasn’t already seen .... pvp can only be had for so many months unless you are absolutely manically obsessed about the player interaction . The only reason why we point out that the steam charts going upwards (albeit by a very small amount) mean nothing is because these developers get a big head over nothing as of late ... We don’t want them patting themselves on the back when there’s plenty of work to be done - and with such long gaps between insignificant patches and such little communication between us and devs of anything important to the future of the features we are missing, it doesn’t seem like we can just sit back and let them work - to me it seems like the perfect time for criticism , seeing as most of us super fans With 2k + hours have been silent for so long in the good times we deserve to put in our 2 cents when the times are so rough .

Only due to people thinking the game is finished ... people’s ignorance about the rocky development process (and misleading advertising to the mainstream) leads them to play the game , but only for a month or two until their friends quit or they get bored of glitches in a “finished” game and find there’s only pvp to excite them . The numbers on Steam mean nothing when they are positive , but everything when they are negative , especially when compared to overall number of copies sold - which if I remember was in the millions for dayz , so where are they all ? Certainly not in the group of 1.5 k people who have just started to play the game that are increasing the steam charts (ever so slightly). If the game was so good as you infer , by stating that the “opposite” is happening of a slow death, then we all wouldn’t feel this way ... We would be happily playing the game as we all were back in alpha when we were enchanted over awesome features (still) to come . But nay , we are here expressing constant frustration after frustration due to disappointment of a game once touted to be the future of survival games .

Whats your opinion about post 1.0 updates, development pace and game quality ?

I’m incredibly disappointed with how the game development has transpired over the past year or so. The devs want us to believe they are doing their best and that they listen to us ; this was true years ago but we know things are different now because we aren’t stupid and we know how to compare apples with oranges , they are just good at damage control and some of us mistake that for them “listening to us and doing their best” . These are not the same things . I wouldnt give yourself credit yet devs , the small increase of 1.5k new players pales in comparison to the MILLIONS that bought into this idea and supported it for years, and even the tens of thousands that we have had at peak at one time , or the expected number of at least a little bit more than the peak players seeing as we are at “1.0” status . Why arent tens of thousands of people playing this game like they once were , it’s better isn’t it ? Dayz has the potential- but not the meat (features) that it’s supposed to ... and why haven’t we topped the 45 k peak that happened so long ago if the game has improved greatly ? Because it’s only been improved in the smallest of ways that’s why , and then those achievements are being inflated as if it’s a milestone like when we first got vehicles or when the new engine was 100% complete and enabled (wasn’t that a year ago or more now ?). Until we get helicopters , soft skills fully developed , zombie hordes and properly implemented barricading (should have been done before base building tbh), I feel like this game will have no purpose other than for new people to come Into the scene and see how tense and amazing dayzs pvp is , and then unfortunately get burnt out when you realize that’s all there is. In fact , the only reason why I log on for an hour every week or so is because I think of the literal thousands of hours I have and how all of those hours were chasing amazing pvp battles and scenarios meeting strangers, and I want that again but can’t stay on long enough for it now ... running around for hours biding our time with pvp and player encounters all in the hopes that one day dayz would be more than that - but alas , years later it’s still just chasing a dream. Ultimately, that’s why you see a large jump in numbers , it has everything to do with new pc / Xbox players finding the game for the first time and social media communities seeing the pvp and player encounters for the first time, and it has nothing to do with the great work devs have put in over the past few months because truthfully the work has been far and few between and mainly focused on the Xbox version , which I can’t stress enough is the exact opposite of what the devs intended years ago ; pc was supposed to be priority until it was fully developed , but It’s not and was quickly put in parity with the Xbox version for these desperate number pulls for 2018/19 holidays . Please devs earn our trust and respect back we gave you our money years ago and continue to give you our time and attention even though you’ve jaded us and backstabbed us , reneging many great statements or promises you’ve made. List of renegs for historical purposes : 1) stated they wouldn’t work on Xbox version too much until pc version is complete , although this was thrown out the window more than a year ago now to bring parity to Xbox version so their plans of selling dayz 1.0 on Pc and Xbox for Xmas 2018 and New Years 2019 respectively would fall into place silently . 2) the beta was ended too quickly for “unknown” or poorly explained reasons , although after being explained #1 above we can clearly see it was aligned with their business plan to sell more units 3) features like helicopters , advanced medical system , soft skills , zombie hordes and barricading (arguably main selling points that got many of us to buy the alpha in December of 2013) on every roadmap to be released before 1.0 but then on the last few roadmaps before that pushing it off until after 1.0 which we’re now almost 6 months into . No sign of these features yet and no word from devs when we can expect them . 4) The enfusion engine ; you said it was going to be made for dayz , you said it would be the best decision for dayz even though it would set us back another 2 years , and that dayz could run smoothly with faster patching when the engine was in... so why now , have we been sitting here for 5 months after 1.0 struggling to get the engine to work with what little we have in game compared to what should be ? I thought alpha was for adding new features , and beta for fixing those features ? Why then, are we sitting here for 5 months AFTER 1.0 RELEASE fixing the Xbox version while the pc version sees nothing but more minute fixes to problems you guys created due to such a short beta ? Maybe you oversold the power of this new engine to create hype in a game you weren’t even sure would work with the engine , or possibly overenthused us on the competence of your team to work with this “better” engine ? Is this engine even better or did you painstakingly create it solely for the future of Bohemia games , even at the expense of thousands of dedicated testers hungry for just one game to be completed and work properly (dayz)? Hopefully we get where we are supposed to be before 2019 ends with all the features I mentioned above in at least semi working form, but to be honest unless the devs are cooking up a mega patch while being super silent then I don’t know if I can be hopeful for this year being the “year of dayz” - more like the year of many fixes for Xbox... man I remember playing dayz mod and getting the best feels due to base building and helicopters working well - lets get that for dayz SA please . -
Actually as of the last 8 - 10 or so years gamers have made a point to tell developers not to make overly flashy cinematic trailers as they don’t represent the game in any real fashion , especially in a game where half of its content is missing still . This would have been a given not to produce an overly flashy (read : fake) trailer if this were the dayz devs from a couple years ago ... But alas , we have the only-interested-in -flashy-sale-promos devs of 2019 , so now we have to deal with the backlash of all the new players saying “why can’t I dismember people, scar them or trap zombies inside of buildings to kill other players”? And then we will just quit instead of trying to provide them answers lol as by that time we still won’t have helicopters , bicycles , soft skills , shooting from vehicles , advanced cooking , less than lethal weapons , birds , bears , and that couple dozen weapons that they teased but never released . Time to seriously get moving dayz devs , you can’t keep working on trailers forever - eventually you will have to come out of that cave and finish our game for us.

Pc players already have this patch and it’s nothing special . Be prepared for even less players in your region . Truth is the devs need to haul ass to bug fix , add content (barricading , advanced soft skills , aerial vehicles) , bug fix AGAIN , and then balance all of the content they added and THEN they need to add all the extra content that wasn’t even promised until after 1.0 (shooting from vehicles , bears , birds , extra vehicles like bikes) . Not until all that has happened will the population begin to rise again - although it honestly seems like the devs dont care anymore ; as we are in such a dire situation yet we still see the same slow progression of development that we saw for years , no new content being pumped out and the fixes are coming soooo slowly it almost doesn’t matter to tune into most of the new patch notes . Just an overall disappointment really , I never visioned dayz being so unhealthy and poorly managed this far along , especially not in a 1.0 stage . -

Lol are you kidding me ? Content WOULD have been #1 priority if the devs didn’t screw us and themselves over by blasting through the end of alpha and beta (alphas are for adding content , betas for fixing it - they blew through BOTH stages to make money for Xmas of 2018 and that’s on them). Now that you have been enlightened , do you STILL believe that the devs should be raking us over the coals by pushing off fixing persistence ? Or have you finally had an epiphany that 1.0 should mean fully fixed , fully working persistence and THEN we should get the content that they promised us so damn long ago , the content WE DESERVE for supporting them for so long . So TL;DR: you’re wrong , since the devs screwed us by rushing the development when it needed to take its time , persistence needs to be #1 priority , and then they need to pump out content like crazy .... they screwed ya over and now we have to pick up the pieces - thanks dayz devs , thanks a lot . -

Ouch , whatever happened to the enfusion engine being able to do anything dayz needed it to do ? You know , the reason why the game development was exacerbated for so many years ? Strange that things are taking longer and even more constraints are presenting themselves with this new engine compared to the old , when it should be the exact opposite . i hope to see a brighter future for dayz very very soon , as of right now lots of little things (and big things) that use to matter to devs are now thrown to the wind without consequence as long as it meshes with new customers mindsets , and that scares me seeing how we still have broken persistence almost two months into 1.0 ! -

With all the issues with persistence , base building , broken economy , easy to farm and kill zombies , no real threat and no soft skills + no aerial vehicles , these little radios are essentially useless cuz no one is keeping them long enough to do anything realistic with them so basically you will never use it in a real situation unless your just doing it to test with a friend . Dont expect anything fun to work proper until this game reaches an actual 1.0 stage unless you’re forcing it to work with friends of like minds . Cant wait for devs to get off their kush vacation and actually start to work on this damn game ! And no I don’t mean small hotfix patches that they prepared before they went on this long New Years break to make it seem like they are around .

Use the broken economy to loot farm all the burlap strips you want - as soon as you find a place with a common burlap spawn just take all the loot , go ten - twenty mins away (not Even) and then go back to the spot and watch as the loot reappears as broken as ever !!$$$ #broken1.0dayznotmydayz
