11. Don't run straight for that shiny car, crashed heli, or tent you see. Scout the general area out first. Most people leave a guard to watch the car, crashed heli's are camped, and if you see a tent, always a chance someone could be nearby to come deposit / withdraw some loot.

Me and a few friends are new to the game, and have a few unanswered questions about tent / vehicle gear storage. We've researched around a bit and found the following facts we would like additional info on : "Vehicles do not save gear upon server restarts." Is this still a current problem as of the recent patch 1.7.5? There was no date of when this info was added to the page we read it on, so, just curious if its safe to leave our guns in our jeep. "Tents despawn after 'owner' dies" We read that these stay for about 2 days after the 'owner' dies. (is owner the placer or who saved last?) And does going back to the tent and saving it again prevent it from deleting itself? OR would we have to empty it, pack it up, and replace it? Additional questions we have and couldn't find any reasonable answers on google: What does saving actually do? We know cars teleport back to their last save point on server restarts, anything else? and what about tents? Do they just disappear if you forget to save them? How much inventory space do tents have? Do cars all have different inventory spaces or all they all the same? (and how much is that number) Thanks in advance!

Some servers do not have side-chat enabled if you are using text chat. If you are using in-game voice, it could be A: Your microphone is not plugged in. B. You are talking too quiet. C. They have their own sound turn down. D. They do not speak english. Some people also may just be blind / deaf.

Does anything trigger the random sounds in the game? IE, if a player is near me in the forest, does the branch crunch sound go off? If a player is near me in a town, does the gate opening sound go off? Just a few things ive wondered, and I've always been more cautious and scan the area more when I hear the noises. I've noticed me sprinting through a forest has caused birds to flutter away above me, while if I was crouched I never noticed it, so I'm assuming some things do get triggered. Anyone know?

Now, does that mean I could effectively store 10 weapons, 50 gen, and 5 backpacks at the same time? Or like, 1 weapon and 40 generals. Or 3 weapons, 20~ generals and a backpack? etc etc. Thanks for all the info, explains why I suddenly couldn't pack the tent anymore in one of my previous lives. Bump + also, nobody answered if vehicles do indeed wipe their inventories upon server restarts. Can anyone confirm?

Personally, my group has found a total of 6 vehicles in the past 9 days.. 1 bike, 2 atv, 1 bus, 2 jeeps (unsure of the name) and a GAZ. Its just a matter of being in the right place at the right time. Scouting the edges of the map works aswell, as most players have their vehicles horded back there with their tents. We've only found 1 in their actual spawn location (an ATV). Your best bet is to just play the game normally, and wait until a player parks their car need a town to go loot, and while they loot take the car. As I said above, most 'clans' have their horde of cars on the edge or out of the map for their personal use, effectively out of gameplay, due to the largeness of the wasteland out of the map they can hide them in. If you are really desperate, just camp gas stations occasionally, they have to fill up sometime.

'Clans' are a globally used term on online gaming, usually consisting of real life friends, internet friends from a previous game, or an entire online community. To make them, well, you just find some people you enjoy playing with and change your IGN (in game names) to have that 'title'. (Edit your player profile in ARMA 2 to do this) Note : Changing your names isn't required, but a lot of clans like to do it so people can identify them. As far as managing them goes, most games have a built in 'clan' 'faction' or 'guild' system, however, this is DayZ, and we don't have that. So most just use skype, teamspeak etc, and some even have their own website to help organize and manage them. Hope this helped in some way.

This is a problem me and my friends had to try for a good hour to figure out. There are the propane-looking tanks fenced off near gas stations. Go to those , crouch, look into the 'cracks' inbetween the tanks, and scroll wheel. This is the only way we have found to fill up the jerry cans. Some barns will have brown propane tank things you can fill up at aswell, if you need gas, you could try your luck looking for one of those. Hope I helped!
