This started tonight and I'm not sure what the problem is. DayZ was working fine a few days ago but now whenever I join the server and make it to the loading screen it'll just never get past the waiting for character to create screen. I'm really puzzled as I haven't updated or changed my version since my last time playing but never encountered this problem before. Any ideas? Edit: To add on I've tried numerous different servers to no avail, same thing on all of them. I had just died on my last time playing but didn't respawn.

Yeah battleeye did nothing for me, that's an odd bug. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon.

I'll try re-installing DayZ and Battleeye and post back here.

You no longer start with a weapon or food. You gotta use your stealth skills to get some.

Gamebooster is pretty good on older PCs but disabling your antivirus is unnecessary when you can just give Arma 2 a pass.

Yep, I don't think the Arma 2 version is backwards compatible either but I could be wrong.

You likely need to install the beta patch or update your version of DayZ. Though the beta patch is probably more likely.

Are you using the launch Operation Arrowhead beta shortcut?

Pick one up, you might have to reload and then you just click normally to attack. No attacking while moving as per the Arma 2 engine and yeah. They're silent and really effective.

They don't seem to have any effect on gameplay, just click continue and you should be good to go.

Shot from far enough away you wouldn't hear it at all.

I've gotten a lot of those tonight as well, it's possibly a beta patch or a new patch that hasn't gone through to Steam yet but I'm not 100% on that.

Have you launched Arma 2, Operation Arrowhead and Combined Operations all separately and unmodded before trying? I had the same problem earlier, took a few restarts but after I managed to get them all to launch Day Z launched fine.

I've been getting a lot of the bad version pop ups too. I have no clue why, also running on Steam.

Same thing has been happening to me all night.
