If I have 100 alts all with 1 m4 each, I can obviously only play one character at a time, right? So that means there is only one m4 removed from the cle by me at that time, right? So, the other 99 m4s on my 99 other characters are not counted anywhere since they are not ON THE MAP.

Strategy is key. I've taken down one bear on the North Eastern fringe of Zvir; I climbed up on top of the shed by the red House there and waited (I'd been hearing the roars for over 20 minutes and had scouted around until I narrowed it's location down to here.) I waited for it to come out into the open and switched my blaze to double fire. Aimed for the neck and fired! That only made it mad and it rushed me. For a second I thought it was going to climb up on top of the shed coz on it's hind legs, it could have done so, easily, but fortunately this is DayZ, lol! It took another 5-8 vaiga shots in the upper back before it dropped. I got approx 6 steaks and 2 lumps of fat off of him. Certainly an adrenaline rush, but I won't be going out of my way to hunt them with such little reward unless bear skins become useful for something...

Yeah, I'm in the same boat as far as having an AR (been playing since launch on xbox) As far as playing the same way and it being boring, I totally agree with you and that will never happen, but that has nothing to do with people surviving how they see fit. It's quite interesting when you think about it; no one is forced to play the game a certain way, but at the same time you are: you will more likely survive if you prioritise food and water over getting geared up, but along the way you will inevitably come across different situations; do you kill the zombies or avoid them, do you pick up the guns and sacrifice carry capacity, do you pick up ammo for guns you don't have and sacrifice carry capacity, do you run towards the shots or away from them... As you said, every one plays as they see fit, but when you boil it right down, we all face the same decisions. What I need to survive is exactly the same as every other player: food, water, clothing and shelter. Anything else is a luxury.

No, the point of the game is to survive as long as possible. There's a difference between "keeping what you find" and hoarding. If you find 3 AKMs, but you only have enough carry space for one with mags and ammo, what you do next determines if you are a survivor or a hoarder. Guys who have tents full of aks, m4s, tundras, nvgs, etc are hoarders and are ruining the game for you and me and everyone else. People who dupe and hoard are mostly pvp-ers who suck at pubg/fortnite/cod and come to DayZ to hunt on the coast. Tbh, I'm fine with not having an m4 or an ak coz I've just come to terms that selfish people play this game. But to come on the official forums and spew illogical garbage will always get my goat. If you were "an actual survivor", you'd only need a hunting rifle, knife, cooking pot and a tent and you wouldn't be stocking up on guns; you'd be stocking up on food.

Say I have 3 alt accounts, fully geared and I've been playing consistently on one server, but then my buddy is building a base on a different server, so I hop on that one with one of my characters. Then, my other buddy needs help raiding a duper base on yet another server, so I hop onto that server with 2 of my characters, in the likely event that I get killed. So, what that would mean, according to your theory is that the loot economy of 3 servers is affected by my characters, despite the fact that they can only be on one server at a time. And by your same logic, if I have 6 characters, all with ak's and/or m4's and have been playing on multiple servers, but then don't play the game for 6 months, the loot economy of EVERY server I have played on with all of my characters will be affected!? If this were the case then NO ONE would EVER be able to find an m4, ak, lar, svd or vss, because it is a fact that not everyone who has ever played and picked up an m4 etc is still playing, so there would be countless tier 4 weapons "in the cloud" and inaccessible, according to you. If this is what you are saying, then I am pleased to inform you that you are 100% wrong because there are still players running around with m4's and ak's and every other tier 4 weapon. ALT accounts have no impact on the CLE. It is only the account that you are PLAYING ON with the weapons ON YOU that have an affect on the server YOU ARE ON AT THAT TIME. I've been playing since the first week it came out on console, like many of the other people here who have been telling you you are wrong but haven't been listening to. If you want to keep pushing the issue then I hope you like the sound of your own voice, coz it'll be the only one in here when we give up on trying to help you. Peace.

Just to add to what @TheYetiBum said, after you kill the animal, make sure you wash your hands, or are wearing gloves when you cut it up as this will stop you getting salmonella poisoning. You can wash your hands at a stream, lake, water fountain or using a bottle or canteen. Never drink water from anywhere other than a water fountain or a bottle/canteen you have purified yourself. You can purify water using chlorine tablets which you can find mostly in hunters shacks, cabins, deer huts etc. My main advice is stay fed, hydrated and dry. Keep your eyes and ears open for other players; I've had players literally run past me laying prone within 2 metres. Never run into a military camp without scoping it out from a distance and bear in mind that most players will kill you on sight, but particularly in a military camp. You can live a long life without an ak or an m4 or even any military loot, so don't feel like the only way to play the game is by gearing up. @DayzDayzFanboy will tell you all you really need is a knife, a long range weapon and a pistol and you can survive for months. I can testify to this, as my oldest character is 4 months. Good luck!

Not really, since there are hundreds of survivals of headshots. It really depends on the point of impact ie front of the skull, back of the skull, temple etc. Front of the skull, as in the forehead has high survivability whereas the back of the head and temple not so much. This is real life I'm talking about. If day z is in increasing realism in the game then it is totally plausible that a headshot from a pistol in the forehead will not be a 100% kill. Just saying.

Why do you think DayZ is going to die soon? I'm sure people were saying that years ago, and yet here we are. I play on official and community servers and there are HUNDREDS of people still playing, so I'd like to know what you're basing your theory on...

Also, the high damage spot on the bear is the throat. 3-5 shots and it'll be down. YouTube has a plethora of guides on this. If you want to kill big, scary creatures with minimal danger, then go play farcry or Rdr2.

@RussianReavers I trust you are reporting these issues in the bug report section. One thing I don't understand is how people can have so many issues in the game with glitches and whatnot (you) and yet other people experience very minimal problems for months at a time (me). Maybe I'm just lucky, but the people I play with and many other players on this forum don't seem to have half as many problems as you guys... I just find it interesting.

I had just logged on and in the distance I saw smoke, black smoke. It was about 2 minutes away from 8pm. I started making my way over, all excited. The clock struck 8 and the smoke ceased. I crested the hill and where the crash should have been was vacant. Needless to say, I was disappointed, but I was also intrigued; I had never seen black smoke before, only gray. This has led me to theorise that, maybe the smoke color indicates how long you have to loot. I'm sure I've read somewhere that heli crashes spawn and despawn every 30 minutes, so, maybe when the crash first appears, the smoke is white or light gray, after 15 mins dark gray and then as it approaches 30 minutes, gets increasingly darker until it is black and then stops entirely, indicating despawn. I'll try to confirm or bust this theory and if anyone would like to contribute, that'd be cool, too. ✌🏻

I have found that my game is experiencing more desync and persistency issues than before; I've had at least 8 items just vanish from my inventory after relog and have desync every gaming session, whereas before the update, persistency was at 90% and desync was maybe once or twice a day... That's just my experience, tho, maybe it's my Internet...

Are there servers that allow both? I didn't know that. Do you like the idea of putting yourself at a disadvantage? It's one thing to have a handicap, but even if I got the drop on a kb&m player with my controller, I have absolutely no defense against his instantaneous flick turns. I mean, kb&m players can literally turn 180 degrees in an instant, where as a controller, even with sensitivity settings maxed out will take longer. I don't have the specifics in front of me, but I hope you get what I'm saying. I do not like the idea of having controller players lumped into servers with kb&m players as the only option. If we absolutely must have kb&m in the game on console, then, if it were up to me, there would be a system in place that does not allow kb&m use on non-kb&m servers. I don't know if this is the case, but, as I said earlier, it will put controller players at a severe disadvantage if it isn't. (I haven't played since the update. Just got home from work and will be hopping on to find out 🙂 )

@thepoey I totally agree. Additionally, there should be no server join time increase for changing from a Chernarus server to a livonia server and vice versa, imo. Same deal for changing from official to community...

The pc has come a long way from when it was first invented, but the primary function is word processing and data input. Console is designed for gaming. I really don't care who plays what and why, but if kb&m was going to be allowed on the same server as players using controllers, this would be a huge imbalance. But it's not, so I really don't care 😊

I call nonsense on you calling nonsense. LOL "in essence it's a pc". In essence, a PC is a typewriter and why the hell are you playing video games on a typewriter?! A console is specifically designed for gaming with a controller and it works perfectly fine. PCs are only "better" for gaming because of the higher rate of development of tech for graphics and RAM and the fact that pretty much any one can go out, buy more RAM or the latest vidcard and install it themselves. Just because you PC players don't like/can't use a controller has no bearing at all on the console community by and large who are perfectly happy with a controller. OP is far from voicing the opinion of the majority. Why you PC guys keep poking your nose into the console sections, I'll never know. Maybe I'll go on over to the pc section and laugh and crow about how there aren't any hackers on console and how, as such console is superior, how about that?
