What is the sound output on DayZ on Xbox? I have a 7.2 surround sound system running through a Yamaha receiver. Is there an appropriate setting that utilizes all channels correctly for directional bearing? What is DayZ’s sound capability? It seems to top at 5.1 but is putting out to 7.2 via the receiver. Some stuff functions through surround perfectly (such as flies, owls, and ambient noises) and others just are put out through all channels (such as zombies, gun fire, and water splashing). Any tips for better directional sound or receiver setting is much appreciated in advance!

Ah. Yes. Stat tracking seems sparse at best. From appearances alone, I would assume plate carrier protects better than the press vest, but without data to back this up (i.e. as you said, they are claimed to be the same), I cannot say with certainty. By weight penalty alone, I would (again) assume that the PC/BV offers more protection than the press vest. Who knows with DayZ haha. What seems intuitive is not always the case.

The plate carrier is the ballistic vest. They named swapped a few times on the PC. Not sure what it's called on the Xbox version, but I always call it a plate carrier because that's what it has always been for me, as shown in my profile photo. My understanding, for protection, it is ballistic vest/plate carrier > press vest > anti-stab vest > tactical vest > field vest. It's nearly reverse for slots however, except anti-stab and plate carrier/ballistic don't have any capacity. The best of both words is probably the press vest, as it carries a bit, protects a bit and isn't too cumbersome. Where the anti-stab is good against slash attacks it isn't good against projectiles. Where the ballistic vest is the best against rifles and handguns, it doesn't have any capacity. (At least not for the Xbox version, as the pouches and carrier-specific holster isn't in-game yet). So the press vest can mitigate slash attacks and to some degree handguns (mitigate, not proofed), but not direct rifle shots, and still lets you carry a few slots. Not bad for being on the move while also being a bit cautious.

The pistol suppressor could be attached to the Skorpion. In fact, I had it attached at one point last night (12/12/18) and once I moved the Skorpion around in the inventory the pistol suppressor became unattached and wouldn't reattach again. So question: Other than improvised suppressor is there a suppressor that works with the Skorpion now? I have tried numerous pistol suppressors, cleaned the Skorpion, etc and it doesn't reattach despite being attached at one point. Or, am I doing something wrong? (Thanks in advance)

Tango, good buddy! I will be on the hunt for that till I can ditch the Skorpion.

They were both worn. But maybe I overlooked something. Appreciate it!

Servers are back up. However there wasn't any update or anything. Keep expectations about the same haha.

Yes. I bought an Xbox One X in hopes to boost the performance of DayZ. However! 1) Buildings re-render nearly every time I turn around. Especially in cities. 2) Zooming in with the PSO scope gives me a second of gray out, then a few seconds of lag after I swish the scope around which freezes my character and forces my them to catch up with the surrounding activities (doors closing, gun fire, zombie attacks, etc). 3) I sometimes get frozen with a odd consistent buzzing before the game closes. Happens like once every hour. 4) Often I unload a half-to-full AR or AK mag into someone and am taken down with a few shots or two by the enemy. Not sure if my shots are registering. Some other things. I'm curious as to if I have a faulty Xbox One X (as I already exchanged one based on these issues and heard there were a litany of faulty One X's) or if this is persistent with other Xbox One X owners as well? It seemed to run slightly smoother on my Day One edition Xbox One, which is odd, though it didn't look nearly as crisp. I expected leaps and bounds with the performance when transitioning to the Xbox One X. Should I buy a solid state drive and install the game on that, will that help with game performance? Or is all these issues buggy for everyone and going to be fixed down the road sometime? Or is this a connection thing? I never played on PC and DayZ on console is the only game I play currently. Having choose to be a Survivor and give up nearly a decade of playing Battlefield. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY INFORMATION!

I feel like this after almost every death, and I jumped on when it got to Xbox, so I die a lot. However i I found playing to kill is less rewarding than taking the risk of helping new spawns. If I get killed doing that, it sucks, but I at least sought out to be a good dude instead the quick and the dead. May my good endeavor not be lost on those I helped!
