I like this idea, but it would be great if they could go 0-60mph while crawling. That would be terrifying.

To Everyone Complaining About 1.7.7
BearGravy replied to NovaDose's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's funny how a long time ago people where saying they want the game to become hard, and if you can't deal with it man up, now it seems a lot of people are complaining because it's too hard. -
6 New decayed Zeds ? that's against what rocket said
BearGravy replied to ponc's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Well he said it is an infection but no one really knows what it does, or how it affects the body. So maybe after a long period of time infected, it stops renewing the skin. You have to remember this is an infection that takes over a host, so it might have to shut other processes down in order to make the host do what the infection wants. -
I agree with what OP says. I would like to see more screenshots and videos. Not only would it probably generate more players, but also remind us every now and again that this game is still a thing that is happening. There have been some points where I forget the game complete or think that the devs have abandoned the project. Just a little screen picture of the game would do good by me. It doesn't have to be anything in general, just something to show that the game is still going to become a game and not a mod anymore.

WANTED: DEAD!! REWARD OFFERED
BearGravy replied to {NCK} Lady_Lamp's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I love it when these come about and those survival ones, were once you die you are dead for good. I hope Rocket supports these in the SA. -
In my honest opinion I think all sniper rifles should be gone. They are probably the cheapest weapon in the game. The only one to stick around should be the CZ. I would also say keep a 50 cal one as well, but those are usually used to kill people in this game, not take out light armor. What do you guys think?

Non of that really helps. I can practically be anywhere on the map and know where I am going and where I am. It's a good idea for some other people. But I really don't need a map to know where I am going on Cherno as it is.
-
I have the same experience, I know the game too well. It's just not as fun as it used to be, not knowing where I was going or anything. I remember Elektro and Cherno were so new to me I loved to just look around and piece together the city, now I know it like the back of my hand and that feeling of exploration is gone. I remember the trick with the night were people would put up Gamma and brightness to see. I remember following power lines because I didn't know where I was going. I want that feel of exploration back. It would be nice to see the team make a new map for the SA along with Cherno. It would be nice if servers had a map generator like minecraft so it is always new. That's what I want back. Atleast that is the only thing I can ask for back. That feel of exploration.

Just wait for SA then. Don't play the mod, if you want to play Dayz+ I believe it is. In the SA and Dayz+ the zombies are going to be and are much stronger, and it forces teamwork among players. I am pretty sure Rocket will add other situations or something to make teamwork a normal thing, but as of right now the game isn't even in Alpha so teamwork is broken right now. Sorry for the inconvenience. But I will say to start working on the teamwork stuff now, they should take out anything highpowered and practically anything military. Make Ak's top tier by dropping all other top tier weapons. Make a CZ the only sniper rifle. Take out M16's or just make them as rare as a m107's or something. That is just my opinion.

Why DayZ will fail as a standalone game
BearGravy replied to TheMachine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Oh god not another one of these threads. -
It's happened to me before. I die log out then in and I am still alive, I didn't question it I just went with it.

Why does everyone have a hat?
BearGravy replied to Imafighter's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Do you know why hats? Cause Team Fortress 2. -
I never pondered on this, and now you are making me ponder on this.
-
If I am close to Cherno or Elecktro, I grab essentials and go. If I spawn in Kamenka just head to Zolenigorsk. If I am to for East I head to Berezino.

Question about Standalone (which no-one knows about)
BearGravy replied to DayzForumer's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
They should probably add a seatbelt to the game for things like this to happen. When I say this I mean a feature where once you get in the car you have to put the seatbelt on to prevent from flying out. -
Why DayZ sucks, is unrealistic and needs to get fixed!
BearGravy replied to banditkilla92's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
OP doesn't get the game, OP is fag. I like fag OP, he makes me laugh. But seriously man, nice feedback. We will send it to Rocket, maybe he can tweak the community, make them nicer and stuff. The title will say DayZ is bad because it's bad, we won't even give him facts or anything, just your opinions. He will change it for you, just watch. Honestly I like the determination you gave it. You literally made a profile just for this thread. Just to tell us we are bad, and the game sucks. Nice effort champ. -
Will Snipers Be Removed Or At Least Tweaked In S.A?
BearGravy replied to Pokerguy12's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I was thinking about trying to clean it, but I thought what would be the point of having dirty lenses if you can clean them, and hoped that no one would catch on. But The reason for having them dirty is so a sniper doesn't have a great advantage over you. They would have to look around or something. I know that the lense is one of the more sensitive areas of a gun, when I went shooting once I dropped that sucker in water. The water was literally under the lense. So there was no way of cleaning it except waiting for it to dry out. With water the target could be further than they appear, and throw off the sniper. So maybe if you don't take care of your weapon something of that nature happens. Like if it rains, and you just have your gun on your back, without something to cover it. I'm just guessing here, but the fact that someone has a sniper they already have a extremely great advantage over you, which should be changed imo. -
Will Snipers Be Removed Or At Least Tweaked In S.A?
BearGravy replied to Pokerguy12's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Correct. That id exactly what a AM rifle does. It rips right through light armor. And it is lacking power in the game if this is supposed to be as realistic as it gets. But there are parts which the car can be unaffected. Like the door for example, you shoot that and the car keeps going. But if there were passengera in the back it would go right through both of them with ease. Regardless if there is no light armor there is no real reason to keep AM rifles around. I am just stating thay because they dont do much to vehicles as it is, its just a cheap one shot weapon. -
What's your longest survival time?
BearGravy replied to craft (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Believe me if you want or not, but I went on for about 75 days. I didn't get on for long, I usually did little tasks or help a friend reach a zone. I got tired of having all the gear I had (Ghillie, dmr, nightvision, etc.) so I just went to a zombie and killed myself. I have a video about it, from a series that is no longer anymore...for now, I will post if you guys want to see it. -
Will Snipers Be Removed Or At Least Tweaked In S.A?
BearGravy replied to Pokerguy12's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I just don't want snipers in the game at all. They can keep the CZ, but force it to spawn without a scope. And when you find a scope (Which I say should be extremely rare) make it really dirty, so that way even though they have the sniper advantage they can barely see out of the lens. They should also let scopes be applied to the Lee Einfield in the SA. They should do this, and make regular military weapons extremely hard to find as well. Make people praise they found an AKM or something of that nature, there was a thread about it earlier this week I believe. -
3rd Party Interaction, and why it ruins the game
BearGravy replied to applejaxc's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Just because you don't do these things, like forum medic, trade, or teamspeak, it doesn't mean everybody has to as well. That's like being in a lunch line and saying "Hey I got the pizza, you should too because everything is crap." Everyone has there own taste, sure some people will get the pizza but not everyone. Besides if it bothers you don't do it yourself, let others do it because it's open to them. In the game I am heart extremely bad, have been for days. My blood meter is literally empty, have I asked for a medic? No. Have I gotten mad at others for using a medic? No. -
Longest gone without seeing a player?
BearGravy replied to Imafighter's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Back in June I want to say of last year. My friends would always get shot down by anyone so we started playing on German servers at night, so no one was on ever when we got on. This went on for all of June, and some parts of July. I remember that because we celebrated 4th of July on NW Airfield with chemlights and road flares. Now I hate doing that, it is cheating and just plain boring, I prefer playing with a decent player count. I love the thrill of hunting the baddies, I feel like a predator from the movies. -
Well if you like that you will like SA. Zombies will be a stronger threat, all will run in doors, and you have to press a button to point your gun up. All ways to sort've...not force...but make friendlies an easier thing to come by.

Whats the plan post Standalone?
BearGravy replied to freeman83's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I would like to see Rocket do other projects beyond DayZ when DayZ goes SA. The fact that he created the mod alone is crazy enough, but now he is adding an even more insane level of detail to the SA. This man is practically a role model for my future career. I love the attention to detail he gives DayZ, the use of the feedback from the players, the idea that if a game mechanic doesn't work it's overhauled rather then adapted. It's great I love it. -
I like the idea, but what about the people who get shot at the right spot in the back, are they just gonna have to crawl everywhere they go forever? Actually that doesn't sound have bad, instead of killing a bandit, cripple him, that is worse torture then finishing him.
