    day z needs more vehicles!

How about make jerry cans very rare, and make the gas at gas stations very limited. After like 3 refills you can't refill it until the game either resets or a certain time of day that is unknown to the player, and that each server has a different timer for when the gas can comeback. Because when you think about it once you pick up a jerry can you are good to go forever with a car, but making the fuel limited at gas stations might change things up a little. Or they might just be doing that already and I was late to hear.

    What clothing will YOU wear???

Either a full hazmat suit, or a gas mask with a tux. Actually it would also be nice to look like one of the Brothers from Brotherhood of Steel, or a Enclave power armor suit.
  3. Title says it, I just want to know for a friend. He doesn't want to wait for the standalone.

    A zombified self?

How about when you die, you have a chance to find your zombie self and get your stuff back or some of it? Like when you die, and it's not a headshot, your former self comesback as a zombie, roaming around with some of your gear, where people or you can kill it again to take the stuff on it. Do you think it would make the game to easy? I would at least like to see my zombie self, with nothing on it. It's pretty easy to spot survivors compared to zombies because survivors have backpacks, if you die your zombie has it on it's back. What do you guys think? Make a zombified self in standalone? Make it with retrievable stuff? Or just make it so it's just there? EDIT: Sorry computer spazed and made 3 posts. I am sincerely sorry about this.

    stackable items

Well you can't just stack beans in your backpack and automatically make more space in real life. It doesn't work that way.
  6. BearGravy

    A zombified self?

Yeah I think that would work effectively. Maybe make it so that the stuff is just on the floor leaving a trail, but it goes away pretty fast.
  7. BearGravy

    How about a BTR-70?

It could work, it should just be as rare as the at-4 and it should need A LOT of gas intake, along with no machine gun. Then it would be good. imo.
  8. I'm not sure if this would work to well, as if you die, you automatically can respawn, I wouldn't want to wait for someone to come by and revive me, just to kill me one more time. Also if you are with a buddy it would make the game to easy and take out the perma death aspect of the game. This is was a pretty good idea though, it just wouldn't work in a game like this were perma death is a strong aspect of it. By the way mouth to mouth isn't used anymore, it's proven to not work.

    A zombified self?

Didn't think of it that way, maybe it could just be basic stuff. Just an extra bit of ammo, some food (If you had any) and your sidearm and like one tool. I think that would balance it out, no?
  10. I only want one thing, (because it seems everything else I wanted is already going to be in), non the less, I want to see my zombie self after I die. When I spawn back in, I want to find my zombie self wandering around the place I died. Sort of a way to get your stuff back, but he would be harder to kill than most zombies, would still have your stuff, (Free game for others) and doesn't stay exactly where he died, let him wander, even to different cities. I think this sort of counts because I am still talking about myself, just my dead body is all.

    Body shields

What if you want to leave somewhere but you can't because there are people coming to the area you are in, or you need something to bargain with? Being able to take another human with a gun pointed to their head and using them to escape a bad situation or if you just want beans would be a great thing to add to the game. What do you guys think?

    Hide tents offline

This is not a good idea. Once YOU put the tent down YOU run the risk of losing anything you had in it, even if you're away from it. That's like pitching a tent in real life then picking it up every time you aren't near it because you want nothing stolen.

    Explain Your Avatar!

    Mine doesn't need an explanation.
  14. I think they should do something with the 'in combat' system and the skins. Earlier today I had to shoot a guy because he fired at me. I am guessing he barely started on his life, he just picked up a gun and got scared, because when I killed him I got a bandit skin. I am not complaining about the skin or anything, but I think there should be a way to stop getting the skin, especially early life characters. Because now people will shoot me on sight when I try to help them. What do you guys think?

    1,300,000 players

I think there will be a surge of people coming to the standalone because it will only be $10 dollars from what I heard, and that's more than 75% off to a regular game, and you only hear good things about it. Actually the other day I could've sworn that I saw it said 2 mill. I guess that was just a farce.
  16. BearGravy

How fast can you get the basic gear?

Depends on your definition of basic gear. Mine is 1911, a bandage, some beans, and a bottle of water.
  17. If possible, why don't we get the community, or developers (In the standalone game) To make a sort of small city map. One with giant corporate buildings, that have a lot of loot, gun stores, highways, freeways, subways, and some wilderness around it I would see this as a better opportunity to bring more people to the game because the map would be relatively small and some people don't want to put a lot of time in this game, or don't have time to because of school, work etc. Not only that, but it would sort of force player cooperation, because if it's going to be a smaller map, that means a horde around almost every corner, which would ,again force the players to come together, to run or mow down the mass horde of zombies. Also you can't just check the map to see if the zombies spawned in another area to warn you about another player because of all the tight space there will be. What does the community think? Is it a bad idea or a good idea? Why? Do you think it's possible to see this in the games future?

How about a small city map?

I can understand where you are coming from, and everything you say makes sense but, with the finishing touches to the standalone would make it work. I mean he did say, for one, that he would add something like, having to relieve, with enough of that there that could cause a constant sickness that people need to find a way to fix. And probably not giant buildings with a bunch of loot, but at least a moderate amount. I honestly just want a more urban map. One with buildings all around me. Most not enterable, and it would be very hard to find doors to the open ones, and I would want to run into people a lot more.
  19. BearGravy

How about a small city map?

Well that is why I said developers in standalone at the beginning.
  20. BearGravy

How about a small city map?

I'm not trying to make a crazy bandit kill town, I want to make a map that sort of makes co-op a bit easier to find, and sort of bring players together. I mean who wouldn't want a subway buddy?

Thinking of getting DayZ, need help

Hackers are on the rise right now, and your friend is correct, in order to actually play the game, you will spend many hours in one sit down. But if you actually want it, wait for the standalone release, which will come out next month I believe. But if you want a pretty good military simulator you can pick up Arma II Combined Ops, because in my opinion its not that bad of a game, and I hear most people agree with that opinion.

    Trade a M16

I will trade a m16 for a m16 with acog, CZ, or dmr. I need something long range. I don't want any M107's or as50's, in my opinion those guns suck.
  23. BearGravy

    That was weird.

So I fined a fellow wanderer in Cherno inside an apartment building. When I confront him I say "Hey buddy." In my head I thought he didn't hear me because he didn't look at me as he had his back turned looking at gear. I type in chat "Hello" That grabs his attention as he looks around at me. At this point I believe he is terrified because I do have a bandit skin. I turn and run to a corner where he can see me, back turned, and without thinking I say "I am not gonna hurt you!" Remembering I type in chat "I will not harm you." He still has his gun pointed at me. I turn around, gun on the stairs while looking at him, his buddy goes down the stairs trapping him from going up. Next thing I say in voice "What kinda gun you got there?" I honest to god was looking for a trade because I don't like the m16 I have right now and would enjoy akm or einfield. Finally, I get a message saying. "Session lost." I literally told the guy that I wasn't gonna harm him, but he still left. Are people getting extremely cautious in this game now? When someone tells me they won't harm me I trust their word with whatever trust is left in that game with a watchful eye over the person, I don't just leave the game, especially if I was host.

In combat with heroes and bandits.

Really? Killing zeds raise your morality up?
  25. BearGravy

    Do you use custom skins?

I think they should be allowed in the standalone. I would like to add a little personality to my character. A little customization before entering the zedland would be cool.
