Maybe this question belongs in the modding forums? https://forums.dayz.com/forum/159-assets/

Is it possible that you are having problems because there not enough SLOTS in your TOP clothing item to hold all of the items?

What files should I back up to preserve server persistence? I will be carrying out the back up MANUALLY... As and when free time allows... Also... If a server is restarted, does the persistence go too? Thank You
-
Thank You Radar, I have saved your script and will use it manually to back up the server persistence, (taking it for granted that it is okay to end the server by clicking on the little red [X] in the top right of the window ad its not corrupted already)

I was unable to get BEC running properly, So I got rid of it completely. The server just runs with BattlEye enabled and no admin control panel. What I normally do is wait until there are no players logged in, then I manually restart the server, by clicking on the little [X] in the top right of the window. I reboot the pc then restart the server running again. I know its not the best way, And the message display is now handled by the server itself since V1.00 so I never bothered to install BEC again. Maybe at a later point in time I will use the BattlEye RCON.EXE to manage it. I'm still learning as I go along... I just leave the server running non stop most times. I get around 10 hours daylight and approx 22 mins of night time (These values are REAL TIME 10 hours daylight and 20 mins night... then its day again) And I just restart it occasionally to stop the log files getting huge. Please don't laugh Hahaha

The whole of dayzOffline.chernarusplus folder? or the whole of the Storage_1 folder? Thank You

Sorry - My Bad, You're quite right it's not there in the LAN tab...

Hiya mrwolv, I don't know if you have read this page.. https://feedback.bistudio.com/T122839 I'm not 100% sure it is the same thing as what you are suffering... Maybe it is worth backing up your profile folder to a safe/ext drive then deleting the profile folder (since you will still have a back up) and retrying your game

For a while now I have been on the receiving end of DDOS attacks. After each lot/bunch of these attacks the server does not start and I see the following in the logfile What can a person who hosts their own server at home do to combat these attacks? Naturally, I will also email the abuse@provider.com email for my internet service provider. No doubt they will give me some spiel to extricate any and all responsibility for themselves as most service providers do... So what can I myself to combat these attacks? My dayz server is down and offline now since even though it is running and no errors reported, I cannot see it in Dayz Spy or in the LAN tab or in the community tab no more, since this has been happening. Any help anyone please? Thank You
-
Thanks both THEGordonFreeman and Sy8282 for your input, YES you are both right... Its bad news since I love the game... Also, I'm just curious, Has anyone else serving dayz from home had any DDOS attacks? Does anyone read the logfiles?

I'm still having problems logging into BEC Its tries repeatedly then closes the connection. The Battleye has connected (so I think) because in my battleye folder I can see the beserverx64.cfg file changes its name so that the word ACTIVE is the file name and some random numbers too. (I stated beserver_x64.cfg because I use a 64bit OS as opposed to those who use beserver.cfg with a 32 bit OS) So that makes me think the battleeye is working? Yet I still cannot connect to BEC.

While suffering from the same problem. And reading up on it one night... I came across a forum thread in some forum, maybe this one? (not sure) But the OP said this is how he resolved the problem. 1. your time settings in serverdz.cfg are correct (in so much as the format is YYYY/MM/DD/HH/SS) 2. set your ACCELERATION to x48 - Yes I know its more than 24! but it works! Once you see that daytime is coming, shutdown your server then RESET acceleration to x1 And when you start your server next time everything is right That ought to do it.

I am using the same method and I keep coming up against this: could not login? I cannot insert the image for some reason - its uploaded already on photobucket

Your IP number 127.0.0.1 in the bec config file should be the same as the other ip number in the other config file, not 127.0.0.1

Do you have a folder called PROGRAM in the root of your c: drive? If you do or did have and when you restart the PC, does a Windows warning message appear stating that this could cause problems?

My IP number changed... The old ip number used to be... 146.90.194.139:2302 The new ip number is... 80.189.166.186:2302 Should I be worried? My server... JD - DayZ SA - PvP pop30 Runs in my home and I have a traditional dynamic? Ip address and NOT a static ip address... I only noticed because of the multiple entries on Dayz Spy So should I be worried? What implications will this have beyond the obvious not being able to save the server address? UPDATE ======= Well it was a very simple and easy fix. A one off charge of £5= to my service providers and they gave me a new static ip address 80.229.163.133

I'm sure I've read in other threads in these forums that when you add a file-path/folder-name to a bat file, if the file/path have space in it then you should wrap it in quotes . start DayZServer_x64 -instanceid=1 -config=serverDZ.cfg -profiles="C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DayZServer" -port=2302 -BEpath="C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DayZServer\battleye" -noFilePatching Try that FIRST, and if your server does NOT crash, then you can try adding your mod.

Hello again Community, Well my server is running okay doesn't seem to have got hot or anything. Mind you there's only been one player playing most of the time (me lol). So I must make a note to keep an eye on the temps. I found the extremes of the weather a bit too much at time, as well as the darkness of the nights! And since this is my PvP server I would much prefer bright daytime and just keep looping and looping one day into the next. So I thought I would try to implement a scheduler next. And I tried to follow this thread by the community member mrwolv. And I am working through the instructions and have reached step #6 I would prefer to re-time the schedule and this is what I want: 1. Start the game at 8am 2. Stop the game at 6pm - This gives me 10 hours of game daytime taking up 5 hours of real-time at x2 acceleration. 3. Shutdown server - maybe do a backup? 4. Automatically restart server (from the startserver.bat batch file which is already running?) If I restart the server will it start at 8am again? The reason for asking is that the idea I had in mind was to use these settings in the serverdz.cfg file for when the time is between: 8am-6pm // Server Start Time serverTime="2018/11/27/08/00"; // Accelerated Time (value 0-24) serverTimeAcceleration=2; // Persistent Time (value 0-1) serverTimePersistent=0; And then during all other times change the server acceleration from x2 to x24, and back to x2 in time 8am restart which should give around 35 minutes of REAL-TIME night which equates to 14 hours at acceleration of x24 after which the whole thing repeats but before the day starts again at 8am I would like to return the acceleration back to x2 Is this possible? Thank you.

Hiya all, I think I must also be very stupid or its something beyond my control. I now have the server running and I can see it in the LAN tab on DayZ SA - but I cannot see it in the community tab. I have tried setting the fire wall settings as others have posted on here. but it didn't work. I have pasted the code in my start.bat file and the code in my serverdz.cfg file and the beserver_x64.cfg is empty. I don't know how to find the ip address of the server... I think I need it to configure BE I have DayZ Server Files running on my secondary PC And I wondered if using two pc's from the same hub is affecting it? I have everything at home or a normal home connection not a business connection or public./static ip either. Finally when I have the line above in my serverdz.cfg file - then I cannot see the server listed in the LAN or the community tabs when I DONT have the line above in my serverdz.cfg file - then I can only see the server listed in the LAN tab Please can someone help? Still... cannot see my server listed in the community tab
DrZeddy replied to DrZeddy's topic in Servers
Oh that's strange, I can see it in the community tab and I can join it an play it too, via the community tab. The server no longer appears in my LAN tab. Did you try to join it? were any errors displayed? Maybe Monday I can go to my friends house and try to connect from there and see if it works and he can join it or not. Also later tonight I will add the preliminary start-up player load out (players initial kit) -

Hiya barci335, I dont know if I have static ip at home. I think it is a dynamic ip and changes every 3 months or so. The server used to work before with the same provider (Plusnet) And I could see it in my community tab (see the photo higher up in this thread)
