Anyone knows if it´s possible to add headbob and motion blur to the game?
William Sternritter replied to exwoll's topic in General Discussion
Only if it's optional. I usualy hate both in games as their implementation is very annoying. -
@Kyiara Please answer this question about Books :)
William Sternritter replied to Pyongo Bongo's topic in General Discussion
There are more than enough books in public domain, same as the few paintings hung in homes, thus copyright is not an issue. My best guess is that they were a source of paper and back in the day you could write notes on paper. This mechanic is now gone. -
Certainly there's plenty of room for in-game item adverts. Snacks, drinks or a line of clothing. Could be a "brand" poster, for company that makes a selection of these. But here's my idea: A variant of any existing (or new) poster that has emergency information slapped on. Like directions to evac site, information about ongoing military and police activity, directives for civilians or something like that, which would add a bit more lore surrounding the spread of the infection.

RISING FROM THE DEAD IMMEDIATELY
William Sternritter replied to SpideRAlfa's topic in General Discussion
You need to check if they are dead. There is verbal and visual confirmation, plus you have an action available to check their pulse. Not making sure they are dead is on you. -
@desolate-master I also see Vaiga as more than enough. You can of course switch to semi auto, so it's easily the best shotgun even with a 5 round mag.

1.19 Stable Release / Wipe News
William Sternritter replied to Kyiara's topic in News & Announcements
Every game in development gets wipes. Why is this such a drama? There is sufficient time between wipes to enjoy your char. -
DayZ performance on AMD cards?
William Sternritter replied to William Sternritter's topic in General Discussion
@DefectiveWater ah I missed that post. -
I remember reading that the performance on RDNA2 cards was sketchy. Since I'm potentially eyeing one, I'd like to know how is it these days. Thanks.

DayZ performance on AMD cards?

How what goes? 🙂 People confirmed it's no longer an issue. -
DayZ performance on AMD cards?

Based on a reddit thread (takes me back to university years, source, internet 😄) it's not an issue anymore for any of these. -
DayZ performance on AMD cards?
William Sternritter replied to William Sternritter's topic in General Discussion
I mean the 6000 series cards. While the game is old and run flawlessly on my current GPU, new HW is always a bit of gamble due to drivers. -
Because USMC under UN mandate were present to quell a civil war. Hence you have blue helmets and USMC gear and hardware in the game. Check the lore over at DayZ wiki.

Will I be able to run dayz with this pc?
William Sternritter replied to Nyzee1's topic in General Discussion
You'll have to set graphics to medium with this one, but it'll run. -
When will helicopters be implemented in vanilla ?
William Sternritter replied to Raptor97's topic in General Discussion
Because it will never be a proper simulation. Cars are passable, but having arcade helis brings nothing to the game. Also this. The simplest planes actually are not much more complicated than a car to start up and winged flight is easier. So it makes a lot more sense to have simple planes around. Still the maps are too small for these. I'll argue that maps are already too small even for cars. Cars are at this point are good just for transporting more stuff. But by driving around in a car you, ironically, miss a lot of the map. Or you constantly get out and walk and you always have to return to your car. -
Hmm, I rarely have an issue with this. I even feel that infected alertness was decreased significantly. I remember them chasing each door slam in like a 30 meter radius. Now I can go in and out of a house and even jog around indoor and they won't notice.
-
While the light is a very atmospheric idea, it kinda makes no sense. Because even while the power grid is connected, there is no power to it. Otherwise, survivors could just plug their base lights and such in the wall and not bother with generators. Conventional power plants simply shut down due to lack of fuel and there is no nuclear power plant running on automatic.
-
Or just snooze them with rubber bullets and run away 😄
-
Rozkomnadzor just might do that first 😄
-
Remember, no russian.
-
Yes, that was my experience as well.
-
Must have been older patches then, because my experience was that they stuck close and it was not hard to aggro them again. So I only took naps in between but still suicided by infected no problem 😄 It is true that F11 is still much faster though.

Respawn when uncon, but also don't worry, they do not let you just leave once you wake up. It just takes longer to get killed by them but you will still die. This mechanic can really save you only if someone else takes care of them or you somehow manage to limp away. But that frankly never happened to me, since they do not despawn or go away. They linger nearby and resume chasing you when you start moving.

Are there any plans on improving and expanding headtracking? Current implementation freezes constantly. More tracking options should also be added, like leaning with head rotation and possibility to look around while ADS. Old implementation was much more refined.

I rather mean random insta death, AFAIK beanbags have some chance of causing cardiac arrest when you get hit in between heartbeats.
-
I hope it's not gamification, that beanbags would be effective vs infected and rubber slugs vs survivors. It would be a twist though if they are essentially the same but beanbags could cause death.
