some of my suggestion based on my experience
William Sternritter replied to Mosi2142's topic in Suggestions
If you are rejoining the same server, you do not get moved, sorry but I miss your complain there, since OP clearly talks about rejoining the same server after a random kick or server restart. Also, in my experience this was so bugged that 90% of the time server hopping was the fastest way to get together since it would have the tendency to drop everyone in the same general area. -
Seeing through the map when logging in on console
William Sternritter replied to Tommygunz89's topic in Suggestions
Depends on your drive really. Since I've put DayZ on SSD, it no longer occurs or it is so quick that unless you happen to be looking at something you won't use this to any advantage. On an old drive though, this was a proper x-ray vision where I'd have several seconds to look around and see everything. I would never use it during gunfight though, to be a sitting duck for 15 seconds and then give the other guy more time to get in position and wait for me while I relog ... I might just as well walk out and stand still. -

Dayz's Flawed Foundations: Movement and Gunplay
William Sternritter replied to lakevu's topic in Suggestions
Arma like controls and bindings are a shit show, thank God for Jim Sterling and this decision. It was coming, controller support or not. Not to mention that thanks to that, driving is now at least somewhat nuanced and you can actually steer instead of going full left or right each time. Control re-wamp is the best thing that happened to DayZ since early access. -
The Awesome Vehicle Thread
William Sternritter replied to THEGordonFreeman's topic in General Discussion
A $3000 server solves player latency? Interesting 😄 -
Are you seeing that kind of pattern? Because there is a lot of geometry pop-in in DayZ and that is a feature 😄 especially with trees you can see a lot of rough shapes in the distance and when you zoom in, the geometry corrects itself. I'm on 2070 and 1060 before that, but I've not see these dots type of artifacts once through the years.

Imagine a server where people must push the button every 108 minutes in order to save Chernarus from massive explosion.
William Sternritter replied to kevo1414's topic in Suggestions
I imagined it. The explosion is beautiful. Every time. -
I sincerely wonder, what is these people's impression of the game before they buy it? Is it all the pew pew "EPIC CLAN RAID" gameplay on YT?

When I'm roleplaying a murdering bandit, my RP is to kill my victims 😉 No one is stopping you from roleplaying what you want and if you want mandatory roleplay from everyone you can go ahead and play on one of the community servers which mandate it. I personally love the element that I can decide on the spot and according to situation. Just because I don't want to shoot everyone I meet that does not mean, I won't fire unless we have a five minute conversation. I wish that rather instead of mandating roleplay or whatever, people would actually think about the situation they are in and how they approach it. That is what creates that organic and unique experience and not mandating a certain type of gameplay.

Location change when switching servers
William Sternritter replied to General Zod's topic in General Discussion
Yep, it's quite pointless these dayz. -
From this video, so I'm looking forward to more and have my own experience as well, it looks more like an indicator where the hit is landing. Name of the item in patch notes is "UI indicator when being hit". That by itself to me is redundant. We already have audio and visual indicators that we're being hit. Furthermore, directional audio works in this game and to this day it never seemed to be an issue locating where hits are coming from. Spotting the assailant, if it is a ranged attack, is another topic entirely. In my opinion, this adds nothing to enhance the experience. On the contrary it clutters the screen with an awful effect, which looks like straight from early 2000's game. I sincerely believe that in combination with screen blackouts that we already have when getting hit, this will further reduce players ability to respond to ongoing attacks effectively.

And other players are not attracted to gunshots? You go loud, you attract all sorts of attention, it only makes sense. Where are you even coming from with this line of thinking that players are punished for using guns? There are logical consequences to using loud guns.

Maybe not next to nothing but certainly lower nutritional value and once you do get sick of Kuru you will not get enough nutrition, as I understand from any food?, so you are on timer once you contract it. That should allow people to survive in emergencies if they chose to and even fully roleplay cannibalism. That way they could function fairly normally, with a rapid decline in health in the final stages. So cannibalism always leads to death but if you want to be a balls to the wall maniac, who lures people into traps and eats them, you could. I would even add the possibility to display body parts on sharpened sticks.

Well if no one knows about it and it's really something for admins and their friends then there is nothing to advertise, I'll give them that. Above we're discussing monetization of this mechanic. If it is being monetized then I guess it is being advertised. Because if it is a server where admins and their friends have all the power, then perhaps queue skipping is the least of your worries. But why would you ever play on a server like that? 🙂
-
Understanding what advantage it gives you is not a problem. I just hope that all servers who allow it properly state it upfront. I'm not sure if you can know who actually has it. Thus making the decision on what to do at restart depends on how lucky you feel I guess.
-
I just wonder what happens during scheduled restarts if majority of active players are paying for priority queue? 🙂
-
The server offers a service and people who pay for it get it. Not really a question of ethics but rather if you want to play with people who are paying for some kind of advantage? I believe you have more than enough choices to go elsewhere.

No updates are listed on the store and pictures look exactly the same as the printed ones I have.

Hunter clothing 😉 but the problem stays the same, at the moment you need to wear best insulation or nothing and I fully agree that something like a shirt, raincoat or NBC shouldn't even have pockets but should be worn as layers. This is being suggested over and over so hopefully, one day, devs will make it work.

@aux7 this indeed looks much better than what was linked ...

Have you tried pulling a structured report out if it?

What to do? Tired of endless KoS, but feel RP would be too sanitised...
William Sternritter replied to rickyriot's topic in General Discussion
My point is, people who really are friendly do not say "I'm friendly" or "Hello friend". That is a lesson learned. People who are friendly start the interaction differently. -
Because the studio released it on console and thus it must maintain certain performance.

William Sternritter replied to rickyriot's topic in General Discussion
Did you start playing yesterday? 😄 When they wave at you or say stuff like "Hey, how's it going?" you can give them the benefit of the doubt. But if they say "Hello friend" or "I'm friendly" or any of that bullshit, you immediately attack or run, whichever is more opportune for you. Roaming and observing other players (occasionally sniping them) is still enjoyable and sadly maybe the only way to play if you want your character to survive longer. Playing against the environment is also fun, but it's a different experience. Let's you see all of the map though 🙂 -
Toxic Zones shouldn't kill you so quickly.
William Sternritter replied to Yojimbo2019's topic in Suggestions
Of course it kills infected. That is why new infected in NBC magicaly spawn in.
