I noticed I need food more often over the weekend with last update, I also thought it has something to do with being wet and cold as I haven't caught any illnesses yet so I chalked it up to that.

Found epoxy puddy. Haven't found a use for it yet. Checked online and it looks like it may go with the tire repair kit but I haven't tried anything with vehicles due to them being broken currently.

Damn must be me then, I can never get the battery to work for one of the sights for the M4 as well. Tested that too because my buddy gave me his and he had the red dot working fine, but no matter how many times I've tried I cannot. Makes me wonder if the glitch followes my character, no matter how many times I've had different characters, everytime i log on Dayz since the second or third last patch, i get a different random spawn on my main screen until I join a game then leave. Apon returning to the main screen I get my regular geared up character.

I believe it's broken like other devices that accept batteries. I haven't been able to get mine to work either.

Just had a military zombie start fast crawling at me full prone! Has anyone seen that yet?
-
Yes me too 2 times today so far. I do the same to fix it.

I'm really impressed with what they have done with the revamped fire stations, so much more depth. I didnt know they could do that so I'm excited to see what the future holds for other buildings aswell!

I believe the different illnesses you can get in pc vary quite a bit. I remember reading something about people getting sick from different viruses but also spreading those germs just by interacting with another player in game and boom the other people are sick with it too. Maybe the tetras are for other types of illnesses that haven't been implemented yet? I noticed the Alcoholic Tincture gave me the promp to disinfect my axe so that got me thinking similar to bloody hands getting you sick if they stay bloody too long, I wonder if you dont disinfect sharp objects before opening food maybe that can get you sick too? The new loot definitely brings alot more depth to the game which I'm loving.

Happened to me also, just after reaching Staroye evac site. Took me almost an hour to navigate in the dark and rain from the coast but that's just one of those Dayz things innit. I definitely wasn't prepared and it taught me a few things for sure. If I was better prepared it may have gone different so I respawn and start off again. Always check your corners! -
Zombies seem way easier to kill with melee now aswell, and I get random ones that go prone after one hit and start biting my ankles! It was quite funny leading him down the street! Definitely gotta try to get a hoard of crawlers going lol!

Having the same issues in larger cities with glitchy ones, but really digging the new zombies! Really liking the new voices too, brings it more variety.

That's what I was trying to touch on in a previous discussion, coding wise it may be quite difficult mainly because you wouldn't want the game spawning you halfway in a wall or tree then your stuck or say you left the server on the roof of a building and then respawn in the adjacent field but still at the same height. I know if you leave the game while falling, you come back into game at the same height then drop to your death. It also may be a "core" part of the gaming code implemented early on in the development of Dayz, so to change that would require a complete overhaul of all coding after that implementation, which they don't have the resources for or can't allocate the manpower that would take. Heck they could fix that one thing but break 100 other things that would crash the game.

Just found tactical bacon on a military zombie for the first time, and also found kiwis on civilian ones. What have you guys found on zombies?

Wishing for these kinds of interactions... and keep trying but everyone I meet either tries to kos or runs away :( Ah well, lone wolf it is for awhile. -
Sensory overload! Can't wait to try out the new stuff tonight. Great work you guys.

I have found an issue of the game completely freezing and it has now happened twice. My loadout is as follows right when it freezes: ttsko jacket, uk assault vest, ttsko pants, boonie hat, assault backpack, M4A1. I have found it happens when I am changing the order of my layout by dropping gear and picking it back up. My jacket, pants and backpack are all full of items of all various kinds. I used the vicinity when in the inventory menu to pick up the last 2 items, my backpack my M4. Once I do that I attempt to scroll down to the backpack in my inventory with left joystick and that's when the game freezes. The only option I have is to restart the console. After restart and entering the game again, I can scroll down to the my backpack in my menu without freezing but there is a lag.

Its 12:44pm Czech Republic time fella. Maybe they're busy eating lunch first lmao.

If by cheat you mean ghosting or server hopping into another persons base, you don't really have to since bases take like seconds to tear down. The loot someone could possible keep in their base doesn't interest me tbh, I enjoy getting my own gear either from random spawn or pvp. BUT I am an opportunist so if someone had a base with loot and I just happened to come apon it, I may or may not take a look depending on my loadout and current survival status. I said I was going to enjoy scouting out others bases more than building them.

That's what I was trying to touch on, coding wise it may be quite difficult mainly because you wouldn't want the game spawning you halfway in a wall or tree then your stuck or say you left the server on the roof of a building and then respawn in the adjacent field but still at the same height. Bye bye character after that fall lol. I'm no coder and I have no idea how game development works for fixing issues like this one but it appears to have alot of variables.
-
Agreed, or even have every spawn in, be a slightly different location like .25 km away from last know location. There's a ton of good ideas that I'm sure could be implemented and I do think a fix is most likely possible, BUT it seems to me the current way of leaving game and returning to game in the exact location is a "core" part of their game code that was most likely implemented very early on in the development, so with that and game development in general, you usually can't just change something without other corresponding issues popping up. It could cause so many issues it crashes the game and then it leaves them with needing to fix more issues which they haven't allotted time or resources for. I'm kind of surprised there has been zero feedback from the devs but maybe they don't have the answers to our questions..

Yes I understand your point is for them to “fix” ghosting, I just don’t think it’s going to happen anytime soon. From what I have researched, this has been a problem with base building in Dayz since its inception on PC 0.61. I think the biggest problem that can’t or won’t be fixed is when you leave the game it saves your exact location right? Yes. Unless they somehow fix or change where you spawn back in game after leaving then ghosting is going to be a constant issue. There is a lot of suggestions from the community on how to address this issue but with zero feedback from developers, it doesn’t seem like anything is going to be done anytime soon. But even minus the ghosting into bases issue, there’s a lot more issues with base building. There are several discussion threads about base building, advantages, disadvantages, ect on this forum, this being a few of the things mentioned: Nobody can "own" a base other than being online 24/7 or having friends to defend it 24/7 Bases and barrels seem to de-spawn approx. every 3 days or so. Bases are no different from gameplay around any standard military structure already a part of the core map other than they can be destroyed in seconds. They are fragile sandcastles to kick over, and nothing more. The amount of material and time it takes to build a base just to have someone stroll along and destroy it in mere minutes or seconds on a public server seems silly to me but lots have fun doing it. The only thing I could imagine any sort of current base building to be viable would be a temporary small base, that will give a loot stash advantage or maybe a vantage point somewhere on the map. Possibly barricading existing structures on the map or accessing rooftops that you don’t normally have access too. The modding community will definitely be able to add more value when it comes to actual bases that have a use, right now there is just no meaning to it and no word on any fixing of the issues anytime soon.

Beans is good in my book lol. Even if you are lying, it'll give me something to test out, something to do. I wonder if you get more human steaks with the hunting knife lol.
-
Well, I wouldn't go as far to say there's no point in them, but as far as keeping your loot safe.... I wouldn't lol.... I'm still learning a lot about this feature so just some advice for you and anyone else reading this that's new here, hop over to the PC side of the forum and search base building. There's ton of good reads about base building and what we can and can't expect on Xbox.
