In my opinion, it barely matters what guns do besides their damage because there are almost no shootouts whatsoever. In my case that is. I'd say I've had 120+ hours on this game and maybe 1-2 minutes of that total playtime was there a actual shootout. Shootout: Two(+) players know each other's positions and shoot at each other. Most PVP deaths (70-90%) are caused by killing somebody without the victim even knowing that the killer was even in his vicinity.

Do a 360 degree horizon sweep with a L85's thermal scope and mistake a bunny for a proned player.

Suggestion: Have the server check if players are using a legit skin. ( eg: Ghillie Suit, Camo Outfit, Civilian Clothing) and I guess in Rocket's case.. that Red Beret dude. If a player is caught using an illegal model have the Hive record it and further actions will be taken later. Reason: Too many times have I been killed by hackers with military clothing/pilot suit/red beret dude. I've been stalked by people morphed into dogs as well... Also: What happens if a hacker transforms people into an illegal skin? (eg: sheep,dog,cow, etc.., what was mentioned before..) Well this is a hole in my suggestion. :/ Open to ideas though. I am unfamiliar with the engine of Arma II and the way the game is coded but if it's possible it would be nice.

Hackers cause more worse stories.

Me and 4 others (last time 7 of us) died yet again to an invincible hacker. Multiple recordings (fraps and stream) of us hitting him and we can visibly see blood. We lose our NVGs, Range finders, Gps, best guns.. etc.. AGAIN. Last time this happened was only 2 days ago.

Don't forget guys of how fragile helicopters are. You can ever so gently rub the side of a tree and part(s) of the Helicopter will be orange/red. You can take a CZ 550 and hit the body of the Rotor/Engine and it will be orange/red. Take a AS50 or M107 and shoot the helicopter anywhere.. it'll take less than a clip to take down.

Yeah they are overpowered. I flew one for 4 hours with four other buddies and found so many hidden camps and vehicles. (I didn't even know the radar at the top left identified vehicles/tents etc... I just looked straight down lol). I'm glad though that you can literally just look up at a helicopter with a CZ550 and take out its rotor. And.. if you have a M107 or especially a AS50 you can literally just shoot it down.

Step 1: Exit steam, or to be safe go offline. Launch Steam as Administrator. Go to Arma II (the original) and right click and go to Properties. Click on Local Files tab --> click on Verify Integrity of Game Cache. It will say "1 File failed to validate and will be retrieved" Now Launch Arma II as a standalone game (ie just launch Arma 2 and not with combined operations). You can now play Arma II without getting that error. Step 2: Repeat Step 1 but for Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead. Repeat it exactly. Step 3: Launch Arma 2:Operation Arrowhead with Combined Operations. It will work.

I'm sure if helicopters were re-introduced into the game it would be more publicized. I think it's safe to say natural helicopter spawns aren't in the game again yet.

I'm not saying I flew a hacked-in heli that I didn't spawn (I really didn't spawn it) but me and 4 others (me as pilot, but the heli doesn't exist so how could i of piloted it?) flew all around chernarus doing some badass raiding. I landed next to crashed helis.. landed next to markets.. I even landed right on the factory rooftop that's south east of Polana. Desyncs happened every few minutes except for the pilot (me but I didn't pilot anything) but when the desyncs happened.. it looks like I crash the heli or whatever for others but for me (the pilot) I never desync. I really don't know what the problem is with helis other than the desyncing issue which is just a pseudo-reality when it happens as everybody resyncs a few seconds later. :) Oh and Helicopters are awesome other than the fact you can just just look straight down and see EVERY SINGLE THING through the miles of trees. Can see stashed vehicles and tents easily. Sorta kills the point of spending hours trying to find a hidden camp.

My story is me and 6 others playing for a week, having 20+ of the best guns, tons of ammo, all tool belt items, a bus, 2 atvs, and then die because of a hacker

Found it a unnatural-spawn-looking place. Right on the dirt road by a barn lol. Is it a hacked into game gun? It's not in the dayzwiki.

I was rolling with my decked out group, 7 of us, all ghillies, l85s, mks, as50s, gps, nvgs, etc.. in a bus and we came across someone on the coast bleeding out. We stopped the bus, one of us bandaged him another blood bagged him. He then said 'Thanks' and got on our bus without even asking lol. We then drive to some barn west of Solnichniy and we drop him off. He says thanks again. End of story. My first and only act of kindness so far of playing DayZ for a month. Every other player I just shot cause they would of shot me if I didn't take them out..

Uh oh now I'm scared, I have an AS50 with 18 clips on me.. and I just found and equipped a Ghillie suit. On another note, I've lost 2 l85's, 4 m107's, and a mk 48 in the past 30 hours because of glitchy shittiness of servers or mod bugs

Before my best crashed-heli site loot was: 1. Nightvision Goggles, L85 2. Bizon 2 clips, ammo box with 10 stanag & sd And now my best loot is: 3 m107's..

It worked for me, thanks bully. I averaged about 20 fps in big cities. Now I get 30-40 fps.

It literally takes 5-30 minutes for me to get an Alice pack, main weapon, secondary, bandages, bloodbags, morphines, food,and drinks if I spawn at Elektro or Cherno. I understand a new player wouldn't be able to do this but it isn't hard with some experience.

Today was amazing. Me and three others were on a pitch black night time server. Three of us together while one person just stole a Ural with tons of supplies. The plan was to meet in Solnichny. I was with the group of the three and instead of trying to sneak around the city to the incoming Ural.. we decided just to run through the darkness of the city. The fact it was raining extremely hard didn't matter to us. We started to run through the city aggroing every zombie nearby. No problem as we were going to jump in the Ural and just drive away. Now.. thirty seconds seconds later we all hear a snap. My friend just broke his leg in the middle of the city. We rush back to him and literally killed 20+ zombies. That didn't matter though as the zombies just kept coming. The guy that broke his leg was knocked out and bleeding. Us communicating was just as hectic as the situation we were in. The driver was wondering what was going on while two of us defended a disabled person. We couldn't even see 5 feet in front of us too. Everything was black and the rain made vision even more difficult. Finally, we were the sound of a truck coming our way. It had to be our driver. Our driver quickly identified our position by the muzzle flashes of our guns. When he flipped on his headlights.. I felt the most calming feeling ever for some reason. The guy with the broken leg crawls and gets in the Ural and me and the other guy get in as well. We drive away amazed at what just happened.

Press my macro key to hold W for me and watch a livestream of somebody playing super smash bros or something..

- AMD Phenom II X4 980 Processor - AMD Radeon HD 6850 - 8gb Ram Note: It is not a temperature issue and this problem only occurs in DayZ/Arma2. My in-game settings: All normal. Shadows off. Post processing off. Windowed 1440xblahblah. Video Memory Very High/Default. The different ways I crash: 1. Sudden sharp crackling sound from speakers, game textures become misplaced and broken, ARMA2 has stopped working, crash to desktop. Following this is the rest of my running applications become 'Has Stopped Working' one by one within seconds after each other. Attempting to open any other application such as Mozzila will cause it to crash instantly. There will also be misplaced pixels on anything I launch. PC restart is required. (Most common) 2. I get a bluescreen. The two different types are IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. (sometimes) 3. ARMA2 just 'Has Stopped Working'.. nothing else. (rarest but when it does happen, it happens consecutively until #1 or #2 happens) Ways I tried fixing my problem: 1. I've checked my RAM for faultiness using Memtest but no errors come up. 2. I've done the cleanest possible method of removing drivers (combination of safe-mode with CCleaner and Driver Sweeper) and then reinstalling the latest driver. ______________________________________________________________ Any help would be greatly appreciated. Soon I will just reformat (that's how bad I want to play DayZ). If reformatting doesn't do it then there's probably something wrong with my hardware.

True avengersoul, but I read in multiple sources that Arma2 is heavy on cpu and if my PC is crashing on simple stress tests.. it's a good sign that it is my cpu. The final test I'm going to do is boot from disk with memtest unless anyone else has any recommendations for me. Soon I will replace my cpu/motherboard and see if my problems are gone.

Thanks for the post. I used OCCT and in 59 seconds I got a error on core #3. Let me run it again a few times. What should I make of with this error? edit: Ran it four more times. Two of the times I get an error on Core 1 and 3. The two other times I Blue Screen'ed. Is this a for sure sign my cpu is crapping out on me?

I reformatted and I just crashed from #1. Someone halp meh :(

I am unsure what you mean by 'next to me' but when you see zombies spawn 50-100 meters from you.. that's how the game works. Zombies aren't spawned unless a player is a distance away from a zombie spawn location. All deer stands have a zombie spawn on them. You can tell by approaching it. The deer stand will be empty but as you get near, 3-6 zombies will spawn on the same patch of grass and spread out. You can witness this (zombies spawning on one pinpoint location of the map and spreading out) in numerous places such as small towns.
