  1. @Foxd1le and cameron: Perhaps DayZ should evolve into a hybrid game, with elements of PVP, MMO and SIM to feed the appetites of different kinds of gamers and prevent boredom among those already present. Increasing realism will by definition require more complexity.

    Evil Evil Bandit Video

Baha, oh wow. I love this guy.
  4. How can anyone think that bandits should marked or punished in any way beyond being killed themselves in turn by the victims buddies? WHEN WAS the last time you saw a big sign saying KILLER over a person's head IRL ffs? Realism moar, and if you're too afraid of being killed randomly by the mean people perhaps you would enjoy a more predictable and friendly game like Plants vs Zombies instead. Otherwise, I'm really sorry I shot you and hurt your feewings. Give me a f**king break.
  5. Agree plus infected and minus supplies simply can not work and would be adverse. I was thinking of more complex things, like mission oriented goals which endow specific skills, NP characters to keep alive i.e. a simulated family and facilitating large scale operations like securing a small town and the supporting mobilization of machinery and equipment. In other words, starting to rebuild the society which was lost. These are ideas which could only be implemented by the dev team with extensive core development. Realism of ANY kind, including the limiting of weight carried is always a good idea imo.
  6. Seems to be a lot of agreement in this thread, so let's not debate the obvious. I've only logged 24 hours in the DayZ world so far, so take my thoughts for what they're worth... In the event of a RL zombie outbreak scenario, I would not be an anti-social murderer by nature, however I would revert to that style at any moment in 1\20th of a second without remorse to protect the lives of my loved ones. Suggestion 1 >> Unless DayZ gives me loved ones to protect or a reason to work together you may expect little from me beyond a well placed sniper bullet coming from high in the tree line in the head of a zombie near you, or your head as it may amuse me. With a text apology about seeing you on the other side first before you go, of course :D Suggestion 2 >> Infected women, children, babies and animals. Suggestion 3 >> The ability to melee with a stick or rock if weaponless.
  7. FIRST DAY 1 Died 20 times in a row. 2 Walked over mountain tops alive for 30 minutes. 3 Proned in the grass alive for 90 minutes. 4 Entered buildings in infected areas and found loot. 5 Learned to when to crouch and not bother proning. Patience.

    Hello and custom models needed?

Thanks Legacy, the guys were screaming green patch items so I'll start there. My boss shouldn't mind if I crunch out a few of these at work tomorrow :P http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/3646/dayzcompassselection01.jpg

reply if your good with PC's

what arrius1226 said. i'd have recommended say $800-950 asus intel X58 quad 800w min. i've built all mine for a decade and wouldn't take one off the shelf if i got if free. it's a matter of plugging in the cords basically.

Rough models for the green pouch items.

Thanks for link and suggestions, I'll send some test meshes to staff in a day or two work permitting.

    Hello and custom models needed?

Yeah, I'm thinking hyper realism because I don't think demons, fractal skies, and alien plants would fit the bill.
  12. Hi guys, So my son and a 25min youtube intro vid have me pretty hyped about your game, and I think it may be the coolest thing since EFLC. Since I spend every other waking hour in 3dsMax I was wondering if staff needed particular types of models for donation, IE buildings chars weapons etc.
