Thanks for posting this chap. I've actually been watching that post too. it's where I found that it had been successfully done. sadly nobody who worked it out will share how they did it. I'm using CFtools.de at the moment and, while it's better than using DaRT or another RCON app, it still won't allow us to see death messages. Remaining hopeful!

Except they are VERY broken! We turned our tents back off again. They're completely unusable at the moment. I'd suggest you wait for them to be released properly through Bohemia. Just not worth the freezes, players getting stuck, not being able to see them, and no persistency.

Welcome to Tribez! Tribez is a real, ever-evolving, fluid community. There is no good and there is no evil. There is no right or wrong. There is just survival. How we survive is up to us and our tribe. There is no law, but there are communities which each character will choose to belong to when they first arrive. These communities are called tribes, and each tribe brings with it a bespoke set of tools to help the survivor make it in their chosen role. Belonging to a tribe does not inhibit you from interacting with other tribes, nor does it mean you are allied or against any one in particular. It is merely a stepping stone into meaningful RP with people who choose to play the game like you. Tribez is split into the following areas: Cultivation (e.g. gatherers, hunters, farmers, survivalists) Services (e.g. police, medical, fire, search & rescue) Military (e.g army, security, engineers) Civilian (e.g. teachers, traders, drivers) These tribez are not mutually exclusive, but are a firm foundation for your character and will allow you to interact easily with fellow survivors. For instance; a survivor who plays within the civilian tribe as a taxi driver has access to the civilian OOC radio channel on Discord, a place to call home in their safe trading town of Pulkovo, but are free to interact and play with any survivor from any other tribe. By using this foundation we aim to bring a mix of players together in a vibrant world. Natural alliances will form within tribes, but also outside of them. Wars will be fought, disputes settled, and life in Chernarus will evolve organically, for good and for bad alike. Life in Chernarus never lasts long, and Tribez is the same, and the server will be wiped every 2-3 months and reset to its original state. This is always preceded by a character purge the day before, allowing survivors to let loose, have fun, be silly and make as much mess as they can. On server wipe day, everything starts again. Tribez community towns are reset to their original state, new characters are made and new alliances formed. And we encourage everyone to try something new each time! Take a look at our website tribezrp.enjin.com for more information. As this is a roleplay server we've tweaked some of the code to allow survivors to worry less about their health and more about their interactions with other people. For example, a new survivor now spawns in with 3 apples, rags and a compass, rather than the dreaded road flare. Stamina has been abolished (thank god) and you lose less water now when sprinting. Zombie spawns have been brought more in line with 0.62 (currently they just don't spawn anywhere but at the coastal spawn points. We've fixed that) We're still waiting for tents and vehicles to be implemented, and so we're asking for patience while we wait for the next server file release, which should be any day. Then we'll build the communities and everyone can go wild! Have fun and see you in Chernarus!

And another bump. We're filling up really quickly and will be switching to whitelist only very soon!

I'd definitely be interested in implementing this on our server! Any advice greatly appreciated!

I'm talking about PC, sorry. And yes there are. Our server is a private hive and we've modded the crap out of it already :)

They are in game, although disabled. I've turned them on on our server, but they're glitchy as hell at the moment. They're invisible unless you're next to them, and they're not persistent. So you lose them on a restart.

Bump

Bumping this because it took ages to write and I'm lazy.

I have the same issue chap. Just posted myself on this problem.

So our server is up and running and working well. It's on a virtual server. We can connect to it (can't see it in community though, not sure why) but zombies are only spawning in the player spawn areas. All other parts of the map are completely empty. Any ideas?

I can say for one that I had to also open up port 2303 and 3389 on my server before it would allow it to be seen. Once that happened I was able to connect DaRT to it too. Mine isn't local, it's a virtual cloud server somewhere in London, but the premise is the same. Try making sure those ports are all open on TCP/UDP (Dayz uses UDP by the looks of it)

No support for Linux just yet. I reinstalled my virtual server to Windows. All working now.

Hey all. So after a lo-oong night on our virtual server opening and closing ports, reinstalls and all sorts, our server is now up and running and can be accessed ingame. It doesn't appear in the server list in the community tab, not sure why, but I'll get to that. My question is, is there a programme that can sit server-side that will do the server restart schedule? Something that alerts the player that the server is about to restart ingame, and then restarts itself. We want two restarts a day at 12am and 12pm respectively. Any thoughts please let me know! Cheers :) PS: I think the server isn't showing in the community tab because it's password protected, rather than whitelisted - which i also don't know how to do yet :D

So I'm wanting to set up our own server. I've got the server files. I can run it locally on my machine and make a LAN game. All fine. But how do I get this onto the virtual server?? I'm using a Windows server, I've copied the files onto it... No idea what to do next! Help!
-
Am I right in thinking that these files are purely for you to host a server on your OWN machine, and not a virtual server then? I can't see a way to make this work using the virtual server I've just rented.

I have the server files. I've got a virtual server (just reinstalling it to Windows as it was Linux) Have NO idea how to set it up though!
