1.7.2.5: Bad position saving
Zeromentor replied to omgwtfbbq (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This, your location save was corrupted and you appeared on the coast at a spawn point. Be thankful you don't spawn in the ocean, or the treeless nomansland. -
Thermal sight needs to be removed
Zeromentor replied to SpeedyBanana's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Unless you are beyond 800 meters. As I said. Thanks for using my words out of context, though, shows what kind of troll you are. Anyhow, you have proven that you lack experience with fighting snipers. The first one to spot the other wins, and a CZ550 zero'd to your location is just as deadly as an AS50. No advantage unless you are past 800 meters, where the CZ550 is unlikely to hit you, even if he spots you first. -

1. They were bad hackers, most use GODMODE. 2. Moving targets are very hard to hit at long ranges, unless they are running directly away from or towards you. Most snipers sit in one spot, and the get shot because they were spotted. Unless you run right up on them, or miss your first round, the first person to spot the other wins. An AS50 has no advantage over the CZ550 unless you are beyond 800 meters away. A well zero'd CZ550 will kill you. A well zero'd AS50 gives you leeway, as you can miss the head and still get a 1-shot. But that, and the increased zero range, are the only advantages it has over the CZ550 (oh, and M107 magazines have 10 rounds instead of 5). -
To those Who picked on the people with Battleye Problems the Last Few Dayz
Zeromentor replied to Sammy101's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
From what I have seen, in multiple threads, those posting are either hackers, or thought they were banned but instead were kicked from a server with (Global Ban) in the message. They never checked to see if they could access a DIFFERENT server, and instead freaked out and posted on the internet. The vast majority are hackers, scripting little cheating kiddies with too much money and not enough sense, and that money probably isn't even theirs (Mommy for instance). Sure, a few might have been banned that are innocent. Battleye checks ALL your folders in relation to the game, as well as a few extra, so something sparked it and caused it to ban them, so maybe they didn't hack Arma. But they DO have something that made them a threat, which caused their ban. If they send in a support ticket, and a human goes over the files they were banned for, they might find that it wasn't "Hacking_Script_21" but "Skype_Chat_Log_21". They'd be unbanned. But whining on a forum does not get them the help they are asking for. -

Zeroing in on an unmoving target means you can easily net a headshot with a CZ550. AS50 just let's you hit the chest and still get an insta-kill. In all seriousness, you CAN do the same with with a CZ550, and most players use the AS50 from 500-700. Usually, no more. The CZ550 gets that range just as easily (note: It zeros to 800). Neither are likely to hit a moving target. I know, I had a bad M107 user miss 20 rounds before giving up on me. -
Just sent this to BattleEye - honestly it made me feel better.

Hackers trying to get people banned
Zeromentor replied to miket's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You can not get banned for using or possesing hacked weapons. ONLY HACKING THEM IN YOURSELF. As the hacker has to send the info (script) to the server, it comes up as them, not you, hacking. You should be fine. Next time, tell the hacker over directional chat that you aren't sorry for plowing his girlfriend. -
North when I feel like gearing up. South when I spawn, or feel like killing snipers for a sniper rifle (easier to kill them for a DMR, M14 or M24 than it is to find EVERY deerstand, military tent and crash helio AND PRAY FOR A LUCKY DROP!!). Central, for hunting tents, North is also good for that. Anywhere mainly, the entire landmass is my hunting grounds. And I hunt well.

Dayz white trees and bushes and sometimes cars?
Zeromentor replied to kylebeed (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Go to Video Options ingame, Advanced, and then turn AA (Anti-aliasing) off. Tell me if it helps. -
I now know why people shoot noobs in Electro
Zeromentor replied to LetterKilled's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
They are trying to increase their kill counter to show off to friends. Next time, do this: Find a frag grenade, sometimes you can find them in electro, cherno, berenzino or balota's airstrip. Go to Sniper Hill, find where they might be firing from, and toss the grenade in. Quickly stand up, run to the location and beat them down with an axe. Hide the body. If they have friends, they will scatter as the grenade goes off, giving you plenty of time to make a mad dash for the nearest target. DO NOT LOOT THEM, unless they are alone. Otherwise you WILL die, and they will get all their stuff back (excluding skin). -
Undocumented features for the lulz- What are they?
Zeromentor replied to Noise (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's the phrase, "rocket wuz here" tatoo'd on all female's lower back. But seriously, I want to know as well. -
Well, then the problem is on their end. Either try to contact the server admin for that server, or check to see if they are undergoing some kind of maintaince. Either way, you'll be waiting a little while as they fix their own server. So really, there is nothing you can do. So either wait, or play on another server until that is up. (Contacting the admin for that server will only lessen the time you will be waiting, if they don't know about the problem already)
-
That particular server could be having problems. Maybe it is down, maybe it is bugged, maybe it crashed, or maybe something corrupted. Either way, it sounds like you can't join. BUT, to make sure it isn't a problem on YOUR end, you still need to try a different server. If you are still having issues, you have now gotten closer to your answer to fixing your problem.

Try a different server.

US 905 best server admin ever
Zeromentor replied to Hayabusa (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Nice try, Hayabusa, but we all know that Chuck Norris is the best server admin. He personally catches the hackers and let's a small band of mexican children swing sticks at the new pinata, while the rest of us watch from CCTVs, forming bets on which small child will, "get the candy" first. -
Why I help unarmed players
Zeromentor replied to killingwillum's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Actually people do things ingame that they couldn't normally do in real life (like getting away with murder). Some can very easily make the distinction between killing a HUMAN BEING, and killing pixels on a screen. Some, however, can not. These people have a warped, or super-sanity, which is not what many would call, "Normal". However, they are not really a threat to society for the most part (like all disorders, any percentage of the population is dangerous, even 'normal' people). BUT, what you are willing to do in a game does infact show what you might be willing to do in real life, if you do not have to worry about the consequences of such actions. Is does not mean that you WILL go on a mindless killing spree because you did it in Saints Row, but it shows that if you KNEW you wouldn't be arrested, or even known by the rest of the population, there is a slim chance you might. But, there is an equal chance of being struck by lightning 24 times, and then having a meteor fall on your head. Not likely, but possible. -
I, too, am like, "wtf". Try very hard, next time, to form your sentences into logical thoughts, then type them down and reread. Otherwise, english starts to look a lot like gibberish. Or mindless rambling. Other than that, good story. Possibly a hacker, no proof so maybe not.

I, too, have heard that Stanag SDs disrupt your accuracy when placed in a gun that is not 'silenced'. I believe people said it would be zero'd to 1000 meters when you do that. From my experience, this does not seem to be true, but my testing was limited to SD mags in an M4A3 CCO. Headshots were accurate out to 150 meters, I didn't try any further (lack of zombies).

Is the little island in the sea a save spot for helicopter?
Zeromentor replied to LoG Steppenwolf's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The treeless island is out of map (atleast I think it is) but the larger islands with trees should be okay. -
(PvP) What's your combat preference?
Zeromentor replied to Taggert1313's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You admitted to killing unarmed players because you could die to them if they have weapons, proceed to call anyone that doesn't do this, "Moral Fags" and then add that you aren't phased by this and couldn't care less. You, sir, are a coward (and you ARE phased by this). -

Zeromentor replied to Taggert1313's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I like killing snipers. Most of them aren't real bandits, so I just picked the 'Well Armed Survivors' one. Easy places to find them are: North of Stary, on the hillside overlooking the tents. North-East of Electro, on that massive hill nicknamed, "Sniper Hill". North of Electro, on the smaller hill with the power lines. North of Cherno, has a TV broadcasting tower on it. North-West of Cherno, hill covered in trees and bushes, harder to find them unless they fire off a round. They tend to have any scoped, high-powered rifle (DMR, M107, or an M4A1 CCO SD, though rarely you'll find them using an AS50), a Coyote Backpack, and every tool (minus GPS, and maybe flashlights) in the game. Some have ghillies, some don't, but if they aren't wearing camo of one form or another they'll be hiding in a tree. Move slowly, wait for them to fire (get a friend to run through town to get their attention) and make sure you are close enough to not miss. Free lootz for you if you land a lethal blow. BUT HURRY, these players are known for quick logging, and their gear will sink into the ground soon enough. -

Why I help unarmed players
Zeromentor replied to killingwillum's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I don't fire on unarmed players, unless: 1.) They watch me for a long period, in which case they are probably giving out my position to their own teammate, whom is now attempting to flank or ambush me. 2.) They lead zombies towards me, which to me is the same as running at me with an axe. Otherwise, killing unarmed players gives me no real loot for my bullet(s) spent, and gives away my location to any passerby. If an unarmed player follows me around, I usually pay them no mind, but I wouldn't hand them a gun unless I, too, am a fresh spawn. If I just died, what's the worst that can happen? They reset my spawn point? -
You can't get banned by Battleye for using hacked in gear. You CAN get banned by server admins, that label it under battleye, for using hacked in gear. Best to just not wear hacked in gear.
