I could film myself crashing a helio, pulling a gun from a secured seat and fire it, prove the sight works and then you'd come in here and say, "How do we know you didn't edit the footage?" Have fun. I'm trying to show that sights are not as weak as people seem to think. And it wasn't a wall. It was a concrete floor. Let's do another test, try jumping off a chair into concrete, use your head for this study. Let's find some helicopter crash footage, see what kind of damage I need. If I need to, I'll run over the sight with my truck (Ford F-150, 1997)

1. Okay, good call. 2. Sucks for you, I've never had this happen. If I were you, I'd try to get a refund from walmart. 3. See 4. 4. The helio crashed. The gun doesn't seem to have dropped from the crashed huey, but instead spilled out onto the ground when the zeds walked out of the crash site. Dropping a scope from 5 stories is great for breaking a scope, but doesn't have the same impact force (sure, neither does slamming a red dot into concrete) as it being in someone's hand, or harnessed to something as the helio crashed. EDIT: Also, I live in the country side, the nearest 5 story buildings are the condos on the coast. If the zombies, whom are still alive, survived the crash, it isn't impossible for a scope to. Remember, zombies in this game are NOT undead. Without watching it crash, we can't even tell if the crash was that bad. Remember, these things are built to soak up the force when they hit, so the people inside survive. Same with modern cars.

1. I will test this on my red dot sight, by throwing it across my room multiple times. I will edit to tell you how many attempts it took to break it. NOTE: My floor is concrete. 2-3. Okay. Tell me these servers with 50% of the people. I want these items, and snipers camping are my main source of rifles. 4. Tell me everything a thermal sight can do. You have time, I'll be trying to break a 20$ red dot sight (please note: I also own 2 rifle scopes, which I will not test due to their cost, a holographic site which is real, and this red dot.) EDIT1: Testing Red dot to see if it still works, without being thrown. Yep, works, starting test 1. End of test 1: Thrown against wall, dropped from 5 feet, no damage. EDIT2: Hit it with a metal flashlight, hit both lens. No damage to either, red dot still works without flashing. EDIT3: Third and final test, gentle tossed red dot into the air roughly 5 feet over my head (I'm approx 5'11", so that's a 10 foot fall, or slightly less than 3 meters), then I slammed it against the ground (note: Concrete) with due force. No lens are damaged, though one side of the lens has a small dent now. Red dot works, lith battery didn't even pop out. And this is from an Aftermath AIRSOFT 20$ red dot sight. Sure, thermals and nightvision are easier to break (maybe), but a military version with over 7,000 USD cost probably can withstand a lot more.

Yeah, if you ask this guy I'm sure he has one from his monsterous collection of millions he has hoarded over the past few minutes. Cause you know, everyone has one. Except fresh spawns, but they are heading back to camp to claim like 20 extras. Oh, and they are OP. You know, like everything else.

Everyone has NVGs, Vehicles and AS50s, too, right? 4. Ghillies take away the importance of using concealment. .50 cal rifles take away the importance of AIM, as any bullet insta-kills. M136s... Yeah, I can miss you and still kill your whole team and your truck for good measure, with 1 rocket. EDIT: M203 HE, I miss and you still take 8k damage and get knocked out. Frag grenades make cover indoors useless. Tents make death useless. Trucks make running useless, but fuel gets a use. Give and take. If you start using the L85 and stop using your ears, people will walk up behind you can get a new L85 as a gift from your corpse. I counter points as I can. I switch because I've hit the same point over and over again. OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER... It becomes tedious.

I can change textures from anything to pink, and everything else to grey. Makes it easy to spot people. But I don't. I don't care. But thanks for the subtle insult.

Wait, let me get this straight... Thermal can see THROUGH things? What? I just thought that it made the surroundings a different color than the people in, near or on said surroundings. I was under the impression that the L85 made concealment useless. Obviously, in this new patch, Thermals see EVERYONE all the time, and even place beacons over their heads for miles that anyone can see. A tell-tale billboard of sorts. Well jeez, you convinced me. I should use wallhacks. Infact, I'm going to go to Battleye and DDOS every server they have so everyone can use wallhacks and make the game fair for everyone. Not the direction you wished for me to take, was it? EDIT: Because people don't 'get' sarcasm on the internet, I do not condone hacking of any kind, I will not be using hacks, and I will not DDOS anything.

Sadly, neither does the schools. I'd rather take the 50/50 chance that the parents are idiots, instead of giving the schools a 100% chance of fucking them up.

Obviously, then, the Ghillie suit, all .50 rifles, all high explosives, vehicles and hueys are OP, as well as NVG and anything that even remotely resembles a firearm. Out of context? Sure. Cite it like God? Rocket is no God. But he is the creator of DayZ. If he wants it added, it will be unless the engine doesn't allow it. If he doesn't want it, it doesn't go in. It is up to him in the end, not you, not me. Personally, I like to believe he stopped posting so often because he is busy doing things in real life. Oh no, never. Never. How would removing the L85 make a positive impact? Ghillies would have less counters against them. 1 less, that is rare, and beyond duping nearly impossible to find. There is no balance, other than the balance you will put in. I will put in the features required for you to either destroy this world into mindless PVP, or create something else. Analyzing. Analyzing. Analyzing. BUTTHURT PLAYER DETECTED. [...] complaint* [...] Scope isn't all seeing. Walk into cherno and try to spot people before they pop you. Scope works great in areas filled with little cover and a lot of concealment, but it is nearly useless in enclosed or urban spaces.

A lot actually remains intact. Infact, many times the US military hits their own crashed aircraft and vehicles with cruise missiles when they can't drag the wreck away. Scopes aren't as well, weak, as you seem to think they are. I'd have to hammer mine against hard objects over and over again just to break them. And unless something vital is destroyed, you can put loose parts back together. Also think of it this way, 7 zombies, 3-4 guns. Something was destroyed in the crash. You don't find a ton of working stuff, and those walking zombies sure did survive, so that'll mean that hardware probably made it out as well. I'm not capable of having a civil conversation, no. I have a short temper, and people tend to set me off rather quickly. And the sight is fictional? Cool, better tell the militaries of the world they have been giving thermal weapon sights that don't exist to their soldiers. And we aren't reverse engineering it. We are USING it. We aren't building it, we are using parts found on a wreckage. Turns out, they work. Who knew? Oh and my favorite part, "Says who? Most snipers pop someone and leave the corpse there to attract other people so they can get more kills. 3. Inflation WILL happen. But the extreme rarity means they will be RARE. Find a few? Cool. People do it all the time, I had a guy with a Lee Enfield kill me with a shot to the back of my head, eventhough I had far better gear, he didn't even touch my stuff. Really? Yeah, because when a military aircraft goes down, everything explodes into a million pieces and nothing is recoverable. Better tell North Korea or China, because their best way of stealing tech from the West is by knocking out aircraft or salvaging tech from downed aircraft. Pakistan better be notified as well. I mean, the zombies survived the crash, but I guess human bones are so much stronger than METAL. EDIT2: Oh hey, I can buy a thermal sight for 2,000 USD. Look at that, night vision goggles for 2,000 USD as well. But that is unrealistic, as military organizations can't have them, so how can civilians right? God only knows how many british, french, belgian, german or czech forces were in the area.

Dupers won't matter when they erase the database in the full release. In a dupe free environment, not everyone will have access to the gun. And not every person can claim or reclaim a weapon from a dead body. Many people log off when they take fire, and when they die the body sinks into the ground. Sometimes the gun is in a tent, or vehicle, and them being destroyed causes a loss of the gun. People dying and never going to reclaim their body, or the journey back taking too long causing the body to disappear is another thing. Simply, just because you can find them, doesn't mean they stay around forever. Some people will quit, some servers will go down, and sometimes clans just stop playing and their stuff disappears a few days later. Needing to reexplain, as you didn't read what I said, "L85s are suppose to be extremely rare". That means their isn't one for everyone. Without dupes, many people don't find loads of weapons or gear that others claim to have tons of. And of the hundreds of FN Fals and Bizons I have found, the dozens of M14s and the single digit AS50s and M107s, as well as the handfull of LMGs near crashed helios, I have never once found an L85. FN Fal with nightvision? Yep. But never an L85. Every time I die I go crash site hunting, as the FN Fal is my favorite weapon. You'd think I would have found an L85 after 2 months. Not everyone is so lucky.

Okay, so I'm on sniper hill with an empty AKS-74u, and a Makarov pistol. I was watching people run around in electro, and then spotted a guy with an MP5A5. I thought, "Hey, maybe he's friendly, worse case he shoots me and takes my empty gun." So I take a step forward and get stuck... I look down and see something wiggle around below my feet. A guy in a ghillie suit. I'm pretty sure he logged in, as I hadn't seen him there before, I think I would've noticed the black boots sticking up now. So I aim down at him and pull the trigger, forgetting my gun is empty *click click click*. Either the sound, or him being unable to back up caused him to turn around and spot me. He fired off what sounded like an entire magazine, but my erratic running with him poor aim only managed to land a single round in my back. I got away clear, and ran into a nearby bush, just down the hill on the south side of the hill. Thinking I'm going to ambush him with my Makarov (before the nerf, still sucky weapon but not as pathetic as it is now) I pull it out and start backing up behind a larger bush... And then I hear someone reload behind me. I turned around and there is another ghillie with a .50 cal (possible M107) aimed at my face. Knowing I might die, and this was my only chance, I pulled the trigger, overjoyed to see the iron sight lining up with his head *click click click* My pistol was also empty... Luckily for me, they seen the crappy guns, the patrol pack and the civilian uniform and decided I must have been a newbie, and instead of killing me they robbed me. When they found nothing on me, they told me to run along, and if I turned around they'd kill me. Poor judgement on their behalf, the guy I killed for the AKS-74u also had a grenade. I managed to get it off, but I'm unsure if the grenade even killed one of them. I came back to find my dead body, nothing missing, and them gone.

This is an alpha, and most of the time games are wiped in beta or on release. That means EVERYTHING is deleted from the saves. No duped items. I expect this to happen either when Arma3 comes out, or when the game goes standalone. Either way, all the duped stuff will be gone forever, baring someone finding a new way to dupe items. And Thermal sights are a counter to concealment, like NVGs are a counter to nighttime, Ghillies are a counter to some looking in your direction, and grenades are a counter to someone hiding in a building. Want more counters? AS50 nato .50cal rounds for vehicles, as well are M136s. And heatpacks for cold. Antibiotics for catching a disease, and let's look at silenced weapons. They counter themselves. L85s are suppose to be extremely rare. Ghillies are less so. Thermals are a hard counter to people hiding in bushes and ghillie-suit users hiding on hilltops. You don't balance a game based on exploits, you fix those exploits.

Two different ways. 1. Most youtubers are clan-oriented. That means they probably have designated looters whom go out and look for and loot everything that is rare. Their lives mean nothing, they are just a mix of blood hounds and pack mules. They collect rare weapons, stockpile them, and when a clan member dies they just resupply themselves from a camp that the looter(s) provided. 2. Duplication. Using exploits to get multiples of the same gear. It is very easy to 'dupe' gear (I won't say how) and many people dup anything they get their hands on. Find 1 L85? Dupe it into 15. Find a single NVG? Dupe 20 more. Find a ghillie? Now you, your friends, your clan and even your grandma can have their very own set. So yeah. Most dupers have everything (excluding flashlights), the best backpack, AS50 or M4A1 CCO SD, as well as range finders and NVG. They don't carry much else, as they dupe it on the fly (yeah, I know how to do that, too. It is way too easy, and only a method panzies use). Some people are legit, and actually find it. Others killed dupers and just took the loot. Not everyone is a duper, even though most dupers believe that everyone else does it so it is okay for them to do so as well.
