  1. Here, there is this game called, "Dead Island". No player killers, many zombies and loads of stuff to do. Or Left4Dead 1 and 2. Tons of things to do, over and over and over and over and over... Or Dead Rising if you want some comedy in a zombie game that doesn't take itself seriously. Same with the sequel. Or Dead Frontier, if you don't mind top-down games. But if you are after survival more than zombies, try any number of survival games out there. Or go outside and walk into the woods. Or if you are in a city, nothing is better than the concrete jungle.

    Having problems with zombies?

Who needs a weapon? People defending themselves from other people. But otherwise, yeah. Zombies are easy to avoid (minus random bugging suckers) and even easier to lose without taking a hit. But I've always liked killing the mindless hordes, and possibly killing those trying to find where I was when I did it.

    NPC Bandits / Sasquatch?

No AI people, and by "large arm fire" I hope you mean "Small arms fire". Small arms includes but is not limited to: Assault rifles like M16s and AK47s, Rockets or propelled grenades like RP7s, AT4s, as well as handheld grenades. I don't know what a "large arm fire" would be. Possible military mobile cannons like the M256? Either way, I don't support this.
  4. I'd kill you for a compass. You are both a threat and a hinderence to me, but you compass, water canteens and potental ammunition is a boon. If I knew you had none of these, I might leave you alone. Unless you looked at me. Then I'd kill you for my safety. Is that a mental disorder? Self Preservation? Go cut yourself, because in your mind anyone reeling from the pain must have a mental disorder aswell. Not everyone kills for the hell of it. Starving people value their life over yours and will kill you for food. Same with people with broken legs, bleeding people, or those that are terrified due to their last not-so-friendly encounter with players. Human nature, the side many don't see and in turn tend to ignore.

    suggestion on pve coop

I hear Freeside Trading used to do trading. I don't know if they still do. But this is a survival mod. Why would there by AI tradeposts where you can go and live with relative safety? That would defeat the purpose of the mod, to be a sandbox survival mod. Player-created content, please, not artifical AI bunkers complete with handholding.

    FPS Dropping Randomly

In green at bottom. There is also the problem that your system could be overheating. It might have ran well, but due to less-than-needed gel it is heating up more and more, and is now showing problems. There could also be issues with loading certain textures. But if it where the case you'd be able to find what is causing it by moving further away and then closer to the source. I doubt this is the case. You could also be lacking updates for your software or hardware, or be running something in the background you forgot to turn off. There is so many different things it could be, so just guessing is all I have. I'd need to see your system for any real knowledge-based guesses. EDIT: Could be the amount of zombies ingame, or player corpses. These tend to cause slowdowns of the player's system. More zombies, slower gameplay. Too many zombies=Noticable FPS drop.

    [1.7.2] New guns?

If it has an icon and uses ingame ammo then it might be legit. But, it is also likely (more likely than the former) that it is hacked into the game. Your call. Risks are attached.

    FPS Dropping Randomly

Well aside from posting, "Crap" I'd suggest redownloading the last patch incase it was corrupted, and verifying files on steam if you used that to buy it. You could also turn off Six Launcher in the background, as that might be the cause (heard some people had FPS spikes when it updated server lists). Virus scan as well. And restart your comp. And your video card could be going bad XP
  9. I spawned prone in the debug wasteland. Exitted and reconnected to find myself on the coast, prone. Happy I got to keep my stuff through this patch. Bring it on 1.7.2.4!

SVD "type" sniper rifles only please

Try hitting a target moving at roughly 60-80 kilometers an hour at 300 meters with an RPG-7. Also Wire, Tank traps, or anything else does not little more than make a route take longer to get around. And you have to KNOW where they are going and set that up long before they reach it. Even then, not everyone takes obvious and predictable paths (like roads). And if an RPG-7 has even a smiliar spawn rate as the M136 ingame, I doubt most people will ever see it, nor pick it up due to losing their backpacks for it. So no. An RPG-7 will not suffice. And on the same side of this hand I am dealing, with a catch, that RPG-7, if it is given a spawn with higher percentages, will cause smiliar grief as long range .50 rifles. "I got sniped from 1km away!" to, "I was looting in cherno and my building blew up!"

    Server Hoppers and Combat logging.

Obviously collecting ammo for his team on nighttime servers. Anyhow, I think every person that takes a hit ~20 seconds before disconnecting should insta-die. Add a warning to the ABORT button, so people don't acidently kill themselves. This way, legit players can log out without issue, or wait a small period of time, and fools disconnecting to avoid death will die upon loading up in the next server. Also, anyone that stays to get shot to death gets respect from me. Had a group of 3 disconnect the other day, after they killed a friend of mine twice. Unarmed player, cool they'll stay and kill him. Armed player? ALT+F4!!!! Hit 2 of them before they disconnected. The amount of damage I pumped into one means he won't survive an attempt to bandage him.
  12. It's a bug, the server you were on didn't save when it went down, and now, because you haven't logged out correctly, you keep your old save data and revert back to it randomly. Just find another, more stable, server and disconnect and join another. Should start saving your info again unless they restart it while you are playing. Then you get the same bug.

SVD "type" sniper rifles only please

Then those vehicles you see would take more rounds to stop. Sometimes you only get 2 rounds to place, and you aren't always going to hit tires or the driver.

    Blood/Health Regeneration

I'd rather see food heal you over time when you are full or nearly full. Instead of 200 HP at once, try 5 per second until you have gotten 200 blood. I think this makes more sense than trying to stuff your mouth with cooked meat. As it is, you can eat an entire cow and then get up and run for miles. I couldn't do that without getting sick. Infact, I don't think I could eat an entire cow. Or run for miles... Not at the speed these guys can. Maybe walk... Maybe walk 6 miles... Without the cow-dinner.
  15. Mao Ze-Dong (China, 1958-61 and 1966-69, Tibet 1949-50) Adolf Hitler (Germany, 1939-1945) Leopold II of Belgium (Congo, 1886-1908) Jozef Stalin (USSR, 1932-39) Saddam Hussein (Iran 1980-1990 and Kurdistan 1987-88) Tito (Yugoslavia, 1945-1987) Benito Mussolini (Ethiopia, 1936; Libya, 1934-45; Yugoslavia, WWII) Ho Chi Min (Vietnam, 1953-56) Fidel Castro (Cuba, 1959-1999) Al Zarqawi (Iraq, 2004-06) Osama Bin Laden (worldwide, 1993-2001) Just a few of what humanity does to itself. Those are people, doing BAD things to other people. Times, areas, etc. Want to know what stops people from doing bad things? Laws. Or better yet, what are behind those laws. A rule means nothing to an individual unless there is a large group behind it forcing the rule on them. "Don't murder, cause we will get you" type deal. Want to know what stops genocides, wars and other killings? When a LARGER or more powerful group of people come in to stop them under the idea of a moral justice. Humanity can't wipe itself out because although these people want to kill each other, a MUCH larger majority does not and will stop at nothing to halt and capture them. In this game, this SANDBOX mod, YOU have to stop them. Can't do it alone? Get a bunch of friends. Not just 3 or 4, but dozens. Dozens and dozens. Get support and go hunting for these bandits. Cutting ammunition by a small percentage won't stop them. Infact, cutting ALL ammunition out of the game won't stop them. That might only slow them down as they have to cover that 1.2km gap to chase you down with a hatchet while FRAPSing your pathetic death. I'm tired of people thinking that everyone thinks like them and those that don't are either pursuing their own agenda, or just want an unfair advantage. This isn't minecraft. This isn't COD. This is a sandbox survival mod for a military sim game that happens to have ZOMBIES. If you don't want to play this game then DON'T. I know it is hard to understand that, but you are just one of hundreds of thousands of players and the loss of you is the loss ofa single target and a competitive looter, based on which side of the matter you are on. I agree that there is too much ammunition spawning now, but a cut by 90% will not decrease murders. Where is my data? The same place your's is, the prior patches of this game and what people did to each other when one supply or another bugged and became nearly impossible to find. Did people get together and start trading? Some did. Did people hand it out to those without? Maybe a few did. But most killed each other by any means. When guns were taken out from spawns, people led zombie trains into each other... People are going to find ways to kill you. Too much ammunition gives people less of a reason to not shoot you, but does not force them to do so. Very little ammunition forces people to decide if they should kill you for your ammo, or leave you alone and possibly die later due to lack of ammo. People will generally look after themselves before they look after you. Look at WW2 as an easy example. Did Britain risk it all to save Belgium or France? Nope, they retreated and came back later. Did the USA risk it all to save Austrialia? Nope. Came back later. They came back when they thought they were safe enough to do so. People look after themselves first. Beggers don't give to charity.

SVD "type" sniper rifles only please

Yeah, most servers don't have actived rangefinders on mouse scroll, and even then people like myself can judge the distance, Zero in and pound out a well placed headshot. Miss? Cool, because the next shot won't unless the target starts zig-zagging and changing direct VERY often. But I would love to see more rifles (and firearms) added to the game. SVD without camo, More AK varients, more M16/M4 varients, more pistols, some Submachine Guns, some more LMG/MMG and any older model weapons for residental spawns and barns (like the Lee Enfield or Double Barrel Shotgun, just stuff like it, not advanced modern weapons). (To be honest, I'm a far better shot with the CZ550 than the DMR. Makes me feel terrible when it takes me 3x as many rounds to kill someone... Which tends to be 3 rounds instead of 1.)

Zombies ain't doing shit + no loot

This. I used to mod games (made a massive 6gb mod for Star Wars Empire at War once) and you can easily tell when someone has never even attempted to make a mod for a game (by the way, XML files are easy). Plus, this is an alpha, it doesn't "Get Better". It gets buggier. Buggier and buggier and buggier until everything that should be added is pretty much there, and things that can be added get started on. And when Rocket and his team finally gets the ground floor working, he'll call it a Beta. THEN he will start to crush the bugs, WHICH WILL CAUSE MORE BUGS, and might even break the game in a few places. Then, either by shear hard work, or total luck, this mod will enter a period of time where it will be called, "Finished" and released as a product to buy. And even then, it will be full of bugs. All games are. All software has, or gets, bugs. Hardware has bugs. Humans, as perfect as some people tend to think themselves, are bugged. So deal with it OP, and to the other whiners, STFU. Either HELP by pointing out the bugs, and if you have ANY knowledge on the interworkings of the engine or the mod you can try to point out workarounds, or better yet total fixes. Until then, REALIZE that you are playing a free ALPHA MOD, and whining will be see as just that, with all the perks of being beseiged by the community and anyone that is tired of people thinking they can do better, or people whom can't understand the point of an alpha. So. Play for FUN, but remember you are nothing more than a tester.
  18. Search function. Also, I support this. But please, next time look for old threads about the same thing.
  19. You almost get it. There is a point where something good becomes something bad. 90% is too much and creates more killing. 100% decreases killing, but creates a problem with a GUN-BASED combat system to be unused in a game where it is the near only working system (melee is very buggy). I agree that there is too much ammunition now. Finding assault rifles with 4 magazines next to them is a bit much. But a drop of 50% is fine. 4 becomes 2, and 2 becomes 1. People have what is needed to defend themselves or hunt players, and can change depending. But are less willing (though it doesn't STOP the willingness) to fire at random things. Clans pretty much are unaffected due to how many of them get their ammunition, which is by using extremely boring people to hunt down each and every magazine they can find, or duping it. This won't change for them. So man, you need a middle ground stance. Too much is bad, too little is bad. We can see examples of this already ingame and in prior events in past patches.

    a few suggestion/ideas

There is this secret thing on the forums no one knows about. I'll give you a hint. SEARCH. BAR. That is all. EDIT: Guess I could be more constructive. I don't support any of this, and discussing it here is pointless with other similar threads. I think that is constructive enough.

    nerf ghillie suits

That's why most military operators in ghillie suits are almost naked underneath, with armpads, kneepads and maybe a little bit of something else... Also, they pee on themselves. So yeah. Anyhow, Ghillie suits are GREAT for hunting players. There isn't much you can do to stop the advantage they give, and almost any con is overpowered by the single pro they give. *Can't be easily seen by anyone unless the player is moving or is retarded. (See: Prone on a road in a city.)

Top exploits to be fixed all in one post

Think of teamspeak as headsets that each person is wearing. Those headsets only link them to each other, and only those on that frequency can hear them (You have to be in their TS, Vent, Mumble, etc). You can't do much to stop players from using these. Communication is key to teamwork, and few people want to communicate with each other having to send messengers hundreds of meters from one groupmember to another to relay messages. Ingame chat might get more use if they add radios or similar. So, uh, thanks for the list. I guess...
  24. Learn to read please. Murder rates are not 100% nor is it close. I don't kill everyone I see, nor am I killed by everyone that sees me. You are over exaggerating that number. People shoot on sight when they are with groups of friends, so outsiders are not allowed in. People get jumpy when they see someone with a gun running at them, and when they are alone they react with violence more often to a potential threat. But as it is the only people that kill everyone they are as those rare clan-enabled bandits that only do so because they have camps backing up their ammo supply and gear refills when they die. Dropping the Ammunition drop rate to such low ammos wouldn't really slow them in the slightest, and instead those players that don't want to engage others if they don't have to will either be forced away from towns (due to lack of ammo) or will be forced INTO towns (due to lack of ammo). Those outside stay outside until thier lack of ammunition starts to endanger their survival chances when compared to going into a town, where they WILL find people looking for ammo, which they are probably carrying. I think the point is clear, extreme decrease in ammo spawns will do the same thing the food-bug did. Increase murders. Meaning the point to limit murders by limited the amount of ammo that is around actually defeats the purpose. EDIT: I am very tired, and my spelling errors show that. So this is probably going to be my last post on this thread. Probably, though, does not mean 100% guaranteed.

dayz on consols such as xbox and ps3

Sorry, too many buttons for it to work. They'd have to cut down on a ton of stuff just to make it work with console controls. After that, I don't have any current knowledge if said consoles can run a game like this with the amount of players, graphics and size of the map. Sure the consoles can run BF3, and the PS3 as MAG, or whatever it is called, but they are limited in many areas (BF3=Players+Map, MAG=Graphics). I'd just suggest buying a 550$ computer with a good CPU and Harddrive, and then dish out another 100-200 dollars on a graphics card. You can upgrade it in the future for less than it takes to buy a new computer, and you'd probably save money in the long haul. Infact, you could probably sell that Macbook for the money needed. One of my friends sold a mac laptop for 1550 dollars and bought an Asus G73J Gaming Laptop with a 5870 HD graphics card. Works pretty well for a laptop. Although that same money could have gone FAR more with a desktop.
