    Possible cheat or admin abuse?

If tags are on, then people can easily swip their weapons around until they find something or someone. Makes finding vehicles FAR easier, and makes finding players a bit easier and keeping track of their movements so much better it feels like a cheat. If tags were not turned on, then I don't know. Maybe a great clan has entered your server and is setting up camp? (Changing the server type without updating the title is not uncommon, same happens with patches and servers not stating they are NOT updated and the titles saying they are when they aren't)

    murder counter bias

Then the debug menu would start to cover people's right side of their screen, and god help anyone with a small screen! No. And taking out the counter won't help much, as those same people would keep tabs on their kill count (although they might add a little more beef to their lies to amaze friends). If you want less bandits, get a bunch of people together and HUNT bandits. They'll have something to do, you'll have something to do and the fresh spawns benefit with less aggressive players sitting on nearby hills with high powered rifles (and they have a chance at finding the corpses of the bandits and vigilantes, FOR THE LOOTZ!)

    ALT+F4 after getting shot..

I like expanding on that punishment. 20 seconds if you've taken a round or fired a round. You log, you die. Abort tab should give a warning, incase someone tries it the legitimate way and finds that zombie kill 18 seconds ago would have killed them. They can wait a little longer.

    A possible small addition..

But then my teammates would know when I take all their heatpacks, or run off with the only bloodbag!

What is considered out of bounds?

I generally say the darker grey lines are the out of bounds, or where the numbers are (top, and side). Depending on which map you use (ingame or out) and how far you've zoomed in. Vehicles and tents outside the borders are deleted when the server is reset. Or atleast, that is what is suppose to happen.

Player Collision - Bug or Feature

Walked into a friendly on the top of Balota's ATC. He phased through the wall and fell to the ground, breaking his bones and promptly falling unconscious. He lived. Barely. After that, all those weeks ago, we let 1 person handle the looting.
  8. I can easily find people's camps litering the wastelands of our beloved chernarus. Seriously, take a map of DayZ and draw blacks lines from each high traffic area to all the others. Then draw blue lines from each loot town and deer stand near each other by 2 kilometers squared (2 blocks in every direction). Turns out, the entire middle of the map is a huge high traffic area. And knowing that, people like myself find everyone's camps just outside of those lines. I found 5 camps today on US124 and stolen everything from 3 of them. I was nice enough to return a boat to one, and the last one had defenders (counted 2, good fight guys, excellent use of concealment) and wiped me and my newbie colleague out in a matter of minutes. That was in 4 hours of searching. I even left a marker on one of the camps, and I don't know it it shows up for others, "Camp w/boats". Not the best loot, but they can easily field like 7 people with those AKs. Edit: Maybe it was US142, but in any case the area coordinates are like 138,016. Southern bump on the small bay (inland) and is poorly camoed with all the wire and tank traps they leave around.

Hackers are taking over.Or took over?

They play a game where a rabbit can run down a hill and instakill them when it hits their legs. I doubt hackers are the worst possible threat they are facing between other players and bugs.

Hackers are taking over.Or took over?

I see like one hacker every 2 weeks. You either have bad luck, or the type of server you usually play on happens to be the same target as these kinds of hackers.

    Storming The NW Airfield

Yeah, from my experience Stary ALWAYS has someone. Except the one time I had a friend join a server with only one person. He was a fresh spawn in Komarov, and on the coast near the industrial building was the ONLY other person on the server. I still think when he killed that guy, the dude probably ran straight to Stary and started to camp it. But yeah, there is always someone at Stary. Just remember, sometimes they are on a piss-break, so they need 5 minutes to come back.

    This mod's community is awful

This. People seem to think that everyone in real life is friendly and will share everything they have with you. They won't. People steal, cheat, and even kill to get what they want. If they don't like you, they don't usually kill you for 1 simple reason. Because there are laws against killing people, and trained professionals with guns will kill them if they kill you. Ingame, there are no professionals protecting people from each other. There is no law, there is no police, there are no people stopping them from killing you. So adapt or die. You want to find someone that won't kill you? Search on forums, or play with friends. Otherwise, you have to deal with: *Players that kill for fun. *Players that kill to defend themselves, and running at them with a gun will excite them into firing on you. That's all it takes. *Players that are going to die, either from lack of food/water, or from running out of morphine, bandages or other material. They'll kill you for your loot. *Players that hate you, or are guarding something. Guarding looters in town, guarding camps in the woods, or even trying to repair a car and you just happen to be too close. And remember, if you want to approach someone, don't do it in the open. And don't expect them to be friendly. Give them 10 seconds to respond, and then expect them to be hostile if they don't. Self Preservation first. After man hunted wolves and wiped the last real threat down, we became our own worst enemy. And this has continued until today. Humans are no friends to one another. At a distance, you are not a person, you are an armed and dangerous threat with the potential to end their lives and they will treat you as such.
  14. Roughly 30%. What is really fun, though, is to get a pair of binocs and sit on a hill out of a city (any many city), then find a server with side chat enabled. Now, call out each and every person's location that you see, and watch them Disconnect. "Hey guy running down the street in Cherno, you have a zombie chasing you." *Prompt DC* "LOLZ" I have respect for players that take a hit, take the time to bandage it and then hunt for the player that fired on them or attempt to escape, instead of hitting a few keys and closing the game.

If you want adrenaline don't log out.

Someone recently lost a kill due to a DC'ing coward. I've even ran with some of those people, and it is the worst feeling in the world to know the man you expect to have your back will probably disconnect at the first sign of danger. In the past 17 days, I've probably lost 5 friendlies to people who disconnected when my team returned fire (they got a kill, but didn't have the balls to stand and fight) and I've lost 20 kills to people who disconnected as their friends heard the crack of rifle fire. I love knowing atleast 15 of those DC'ers will load up to find the "MALE FEMALE" respawn screen. That first shot rarely misses, and almost every time it finds your head before you disconnect. The only thing you cost me was 1 bullet, and I'll easily find a replacement.

I used to be friendly like you once

Actually kind of funny as my first death ever in this game was when I was looting some random town straight from my spawn, and seen a player running in the distance with a zombie on him. I ignored him, thinking he would leave me alone due to the zombie. Nope. As I sneaked past a few zombies, I found something on a dead zombie body. I can't remember what, but as I tried to loot him my character stood up. A second later I spot that same player now running down the road at me. *BOOM*, he fires an 1866 at me, hitting me in the leg. As he ran by, the now much larger crowd of zombies stop to devour me.

    A weird incidence

Hacker, or very well prepared defender with M203 training. Due to it taking so long between each kill, I'll assume guy with M203. But someone should have heard something, and not just the explosion. Although, it could have been a very slow script kiddie not knowing how to really hack and slowly running the scripts to spawn explosives at your feet before setting them off. But then someone would be on here saying so-and-so server has a hacker because everyone is dying. So hacker or M203 crackshot. My money is on the latter.
  18. Easy. Random player found a clan's campsite and discovered the charges inside one of the tents or a saved vehicle, then proceeded to take a joyride and quickly hit random buildings while awaiting his eventual death. I've found many things in tents, and more than once I have found vehicles. Usually due to the servers going down within 2 hours, without a restart warning, I can only assume it is the clans running the servers resetting them in an attempt to reclaim their lost stuff. As I have no proof of this, though, I will not report them. 2 hours is a long time, and many servers reset after only 8. But yeah, you can get your hands on those charges. Plus, what is the point of having them if you aren't going to us them? Well, someone did.
  19. I think I might try that if I ever get into that range... Chances are, they'll just be added to the body count when they decide to ignore me. +1 to the guys in the video.

Add lens flare to sniper scopes

Lens flare? What? No. I know in BF3 they were trying to tone down the amount of "Bush Wookies" from BF:BC2, but they dropped the ball on that and made snipers almost a laughing stock, their only plus being the rifle they carry on such large maps. Anyhow, lens flare should not be ingame. Infact, if you want to kill snipers, travel in groups with friends. Spread out and don't all bunch up and when a sniper drops one of you, your group can easily track them down and kill them. It's actually very simple, you just need experience. And this isn't WW2, there is no lens flare. And I'm happy I don't have to see it in underground subway tunnels any longer... (Sometimes I couldn't tell the difference in a flashlight at long range and a sniper's len flare. Either way, it helps get counter-sniping going and nets you easy headshots)

    Fix for the Crossbow

Bump, as many people tend to post threads about the crossbow, and never use the search function. I'm bumping this in the hopes of them seeing this thread and adding their own ideas to the already ongoing discussions on MANY threads that are no longer at the top of the forum. Oh, and I like to see my threads riding on the first page. So sue me.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO But seriously, no. Check out the AI in this mod and the AI in Arma2. Do you really want that? Short answer, "No."

    Was this a hacker?

I'm not offended by you. But in red, please, you still seem to think that he might have been in a group. On our first encounter, he was roughly in my area, and fired two rounds at me with his M4A1 SD. I took the hits, stood up and ran back across the side of the hill without him giving chase. I never logged off, I only bandaged myself and waited behind the hill in a bush before I heard him begin firing. When my friend and I triangulated his rough position, I decided that it might have been a different gunner and the first SD user was taking fire from him. Instead, I find the sniper sitting in a bush firing on a random player running through Electro, so I fired 4 rounds into his back. He DC'd. His body was fine, and no one came over to kill me or secure the area. Next, not 5 minutes later, he logged back in under a nearby tree, using the branches as cover. Instead of firing at me, he fired at another random player in the distance, and ignored me again. This time, I put him down. Had he had support of any kind, they had more than enough time to cross the map to help him. And by his own actions he didn't have any skill or environmental awareness. He tried to fire at me the last time, but the damage killed him before he could get a round off. Due to the .50 M107 in his hands I knew he was the sniper. But when I checked his pack I found the M4A1 SD that had been fired at me some time ago. So either his group was completely incompetent, and couldn't even defend a sniper after 3 engagements in a 150 meter area, or even get a kill on players in the town, or they were NOT THERE. From the time elapsed, I can only assume, outside of playing with a group of mentally retarded players (and I use that term in the most insulting way) that he was alone and had no idea what he was doing. But who sets up a camping spot with NO medicine (bandages, painkillers, morphine, or anything of the like) NO food, (not even cans or meat) and only pepsi? Of which there were 9. In an odd string, there were also 9 Stanag SD magazines, which I'm not sure Hayabuse mentioned. How many players do you know like this? How many set up outside of a town without the basics needed to survive a fight? Or even to survive 1 hour alone? And who shows up in the middle of the day with 2 NVGs??? Someone that doesn't care at all about what they are carrying. That means either he was quitting and just wanted to get some kills before he went out (odd way of doing it), or they were hacked/duped items. I'm not claiming HE was the hacker, as I have no proof. But with such limited evidence, is it not likely that the items were duped or even hacked in? I switched servers to test the NVGs after we had secured the area. I moved away so I wouldn't spawn on any other snipers in the area. As I said, the server was DAYLIGHT, and I have never had NVGs before so I wanted to test them. I was not server hopping, and I didn't log out until the fight was long over. I wasn't hopping servers to find a night server to gain any advantage over anyone. I wanted to test out an item I had never had in my possetion. Such accusations are annoying. Also, you need to learn to read, and stop making stuff up as you go along. You want to throw me into a crowd of server hoppers, ghosters and combot loggers, when I do no such thing. Subtle insults are just that. EDIT: Your posts make me think that either you pick and choose sentences to read and fill in the missing blanks with whatever you want to think, or you were recently killed by me. Changing servers to test equipment that only works in specific environmental conditions is not 'server hopping'. That is the act of DC'ing from a server and connecting to another, either to avoid combat (Combot Logging as one such name) or to loot the area in another server (this is the general usage of the term on these forums). In any case, I explained what happened. Your first opinion is now pointless as you were making an opinion without all the information.
