Yeah bit of a brain fart on that one, was thinking about the burlap sack in regards to putting it over a players head which I haven’t had any success with as of yet. Totally forgot about the improvised bag. Good job there’s someone with a bit of sense on here, that can correct my BS info. Never needed to craft one myself, as always found a backpack early on. Any idea what the capacity of an improvised bag is, off the top of your head?

Both the spray paint and netting are yet to be implemented in to the game. There are also certain items in the game that have no use at the moment i.e. burlap sack & bones.

Teddy bears do contain more useful items than rags. Anything from pistol suppressors and ammo to food and drink. You won’t have much luck finding the NATO suppressor in teddy bears or anywhere else for that matter. This suppressor has yet to be implemented in to the game.

After downloading the latest patch I am having major issues with my FPS. Last night after logging in, the game was almost unplayable. I thought this may have been due to the fact that it was a full server and I was in Elektro, but after testing this out in the sticks in an empty server I was still experiencing issues with zombies walking on the spot, and shots not registering until some time later. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Hopefully it was something server side and I’ll have better luck tonight. Thanks for the input guys.

Is this working for anyone since the recent fix? Tested this out last night and still does not seem to be functioning.

I have been able to sprint and jump at times where my stamina bar was well below half (closer to quarter), and then other times I haven’t been able to sprint after dropping all of my gear. There is definitely a bug with this, and I have submitted a report. On other occasions I have been unable to walk correctly, but then whilst going prone I could swim around the map at sprinting pace without my stamina going down.

I’m up for it, we definitely need the community to do things like this to keep the game interesting, whilst the devs get additional content ready.

So I was taking my usually route NW last night, and whilst taking a forest trail I noticed a ‘small stone’ right in the middle of the path. I picked up the item and carried on with my journey, then, I saw another then another. There were numerous littered across the path. I have taken this trail many times and have never come upon this item, so my question is, does anyone know if new items have been added to the game? I know that on PC you can use stones for crafting a stone knife etc. but in all my hours on the Xbox version I have never come upon one until now.

I don’t understand why some people feel the need to implode because their character has been wiped. If you paid any sort of attention to this game then you would know that a) this was always going to happen, and b) this will happen many more times before 1.0. I too had a character that was countless hours old, and last night I spent numerous hours attempting to find an SVD because mine had been lost earlier in the night transferring gear near to a server reset. I’m not going to bitch about it, and in fact I am looking forward to looting and gearing up again as there isn’t much else to do within the current build. With regards to the £30 or 40 dollars/euro etc. you might have put into the game, again, you knew it was a game preview. Regardless if BI have spent 10 years developing the game, it could be 20 and i’d still say the same thing, you are your own person and can make your own decisions. Nobody stuck a gun to your head and demanded that you purchase their game. If you really aren’t happy with the product you bought then you only have yourself to blame. There were no false pretences whatsoever from BI. Regarding the latest patch, I think the VoIP fix is a game changer and will add a new dynamic to game play while we wait for additional content. Can’t wait to try it out.

Yes, I believe so. Haven’t used it myself, but from what I’ve read to then use the megaphone you have to press LT to bring it up to your mouth and then use the push to talk feature.

When attempting to insert a mag in to a weapon, make sure that you have the weapon in hand and then combine the mag from your EQUIPMENT menu and not from the VICINITY menu. The bug occurs when trying to do this or whilst trying to reload a new mag by pressing Y. With regards to using a scope; firstly hold LT to aim your weapon then press RB to look down iron sights and then finally LB to switch iron sights, to your scope.

I felt exactly the same when I started out. I was always scared i’d drop something that i’d need 10 minutes later, and was always over encumbered. Now i’ve done a complete 180 and have dropped everything I can to shed weight, which included a fully kitted AKM and M4, as well as numerous mags and an abundance of ammo. At the moment I am running the following: - silenced USG45 with both ACOG and M68 optics - SVD with PSO scope and improvised suppressor - green hunting backpack - green UK assault vest - green M65 jacket -green cowboy hat - TTsKO pants - Jungle boots - 1 mag in each weapon and 2 spare, a combat knife, 2 canteens, a bandage and some tactical bacon. Speed is key and makes all the difference, and with everything being green, I hope that it helps me blend in to my surroundings. I like to think of myself as a ninja chameleon, wishful thinking!

So instead of using a dual male to female splitter, you just use earbuds inside your headphones, right? Will definitely be going that way if the splitter doesn’t work, but would still like to know if I could just use my headphones as I like to hear each and every sound in game and would worry about not being able to her footsteps with buds in as well. I’ve been trying to get my head around this for a few days, thinking of a way to be able to use both party and game chat. The only reasonable solution I have been able to come up with is maybe using the Xbox app on your phone for creating a party and then using a 2 x male to female 3.5mm audio jack. One end plugged into your phone, the other your controller. I don’t even know if this will work, the audio might be conflicted, the volume of one source may be a lot louder than the other or you may not be able to output your voice audio back. I’m sure I’ve got one of these cables hanging about somewhere, if so I will do some testing ASAP and let you know. Even if there is only one person in your group that has the means to do this, at least he can communicate with any random survivors your group encounters and relay everything back. Wouldn’t be so bad if the proximity chat didn’t carry so far or had a whisper feature, but it seems very counter-intuitive to walk around, especially in a major town, with your proximity chat open for all to hear.

Have you tried deleting your save data file for DayZ?

Not implemented either. Leaning is another thing that has yet to be added, possibly due to the fact they’re having difficulty on deciding a control scheme for it all.

Freelook has not been implemented yet. Fingers crossed it’s sooner rather than later.

Yeah there’s not much else to do apart from loot when everyone wants to KOS. Never thought I’d enjoy mindlessly running around a huge map for hours on end. To be honest, the hardest thing to find for me, seems to be pistol mags!

The only server issues I’ve come across, is where I was unable to join very low pop servers and being kicked from high pop ones. This has not been a problem since the hot fix this week. Even the player locked in database problem is not an issue anymore. Thoroughly enjoying the game at the moment. i have owned standalone on PC for a long time and maybe have 20 hours playtime or so logged due to my limited keyboard skills. Console on the other hand is a different kettle of fish, I haven’t been able to stop playing since the day of release and long may that continue. The only slight issue I have is the push to talk feature clashing with party chat as it makes interaction with others impossible when playing in a group. Patience is a virtue though, and I look forward to an RP style of play that no other game (console anyway) can offer.

I’m willing to trade under the right circumstances. I have plenty of food and bandages that are of no use to me at the moment (I need to lose some carry weight). Also have an AK with suppressor and PU scope, an M4 with ACOG and improvised suppressor, and an SVD with 3 mags, improvised suppressor and PSO scope. Suffered with this problem for days, and leaving and re-joining became tedious very quickly. Whilst standing look at your feet in third person rather than whilst prone, this fixes the issue every time for me.
