  1. I agree its too long, but the darkness is good in my opinion. You used to be able to just turn up your brightness and essentially bypass the night. Plus most people I've played with could hardly see in 1.01, meanwhile the other half are "bypassing" the night.. Atleast now everybody essentially sees the same thing for the most part. I think everyone would be happy if they made night 30 minuites, dont plan ahead you might end up having to navigate through the darkness, unlike now where unless you want to sit at a camp for an hour, your forced to move through the night cuz its so long (or switch servers). I personally love the darkness especially because its truly dark and people can't bypass it, being forced to play through an hour of pitch black isn't good gameplay though, its just too much. However lower the night cycle to 30 mins you now offer players different playstyles, Camp through the night, find a building to post up in, or continue traveling through the night. Where right now night just lasts so long it doesn't make sense to even stay on the server. 1.01 night was manageable but most people could exploit the night time by turning up their brightness and everyone had different results so i feel like a 30 min night cycle with the darkness of 1.02 brings things back to a manageable spot while keeping it authentic as possible. Thoughts?

    Anyone having ambient audio issues?

    Nah its pure silence until you relog, no wind or anything ambient. Only footsteps and player noises (gunshots and whatnot), you would notice. Although ive seen videos of people having the same audio issue im hoping its just a 1.01 character thing. Are you using a character from 1.01?

    Good 2 know, its probley just my 1.01 character having issues then. Im aware of the binocs working now, my point was theres always a new issue every update, just frustrated waiting a month to be able to use binocs, then having another issue come out and knowing it will be awhile until its fixed, but hopefully the audio is just for my old character.

    Really hope we dont have to wait a month for this bug 2 get fixed. No point waiting, next patch there will just be 5 new bugs that we'll have to wait to get fixed and so on... Crazy how this is a full release version, i can already see half the player base gone by next patch if BI dont get their shit together. I just want to play this game with ambient audio and binoculars that work, can't even do that till next patch & like i said 5 other things will be broken by that time. Not looking forward to playing this afternoon to be honest which sucks because I've been waiting weeks for this patch only to be disappointed by more bugs that are worse then the ones i was waiting to get fixed.

    Night is now HORRIBLE!!!!!

    Atleast everybodys basically seeing the same thing and people arent turning their brightness up to get a game breaking advantage. Although the moon setting the brightness sounds cool ( i never knew that ) i bet its gone to make it so people cant abuse the light from it too see way more than they should. But ya i was really disappointed when i first heard of the night light but i dont really care now unless it gives me or someone else an unfair advantage.

    I like the night changes, although im not a huge fan of the night light, it has a haunting glow that i like. I like how nobody can see at night and you can't just turn up your brightness and see perfectly fine either, encouraging people to camp or use light sources, which were pointless before... However with the night being so long it sort of drags on for too long, I'd personally enjoy it more if it was 30-40 mins so i could chill by the campfire and take a break from intently focusing on not dying, instead of continually playing through the hour of night because its too boring sitting at a camp for an hour, your kind of forced to move in a way.

    Im usually on the same server. I used to not use an online map, but after getting lost for 4 hours once, i now check it when i need 2. I would suggest using the map for the coast tho, especially if you plan on meeting up with your friends, it takes away alot of the time it takes to meetup and is nice to get your bearings from the start but thats my opinion.

    Can someone help me please...

    So for me i just quit the game whenever that happens and never loose anything. The freezing is game chat related, im pretty sure it occurs when speaking in game chat whilst the fps drops to 0. Only way I've ignored that freeze bug is by just using party chat or not speaking often in game chat.
  10. If a lag spike occurs while in game chat and you are speaking your game will freeze ( client) on the server you will be frozen but able to speak.

    Watch out if you use game chat

    Had it happen multiple times 2 me and my buddy, hasn't happened since we started using party chat. 2 lazy to make n account for the bug report page lol. Should be able to do it from this website to be honest. Hopefully somebody from their team occasionally takes a look at the forums.

    I use 1st person only servers so i dont think whatever your talking about applies to me. Controls are 100% better though, but i doubt the rolling whilst trying to freelook in prone was intended.
  13. So i am on xbox one x and the performance isn't that great, i cant imagine OG xboxs. A performance mode is possible to implement, wrong?

    Issues with update 1.0

    Ya i was playing with a squad of 4 we ended up getting in an epic fight in Novy with another squad. Unfortunately the server crashed but it didnt do anything everyone had to force exit out, 3 of us lost our characters me being one. Shortly after killed a fully looted dude with the only bullet i had. This guy decided to unload on some zombies then come reload next to me in the middle of the night, crept up and saw his purple bag, shot him in the head. Felt so good, sks, Fx 45 extra mags, mp5, he had an armband so i ran into a nearby forest and hid, paranoid, i thought i was hearing footsteps of his friends looking for me, Probley just smoked 2 much... I waited till sunrise behind a tree then moved out back to my camp. Another day another adventure I was moving my tent to a better location when i lost my sks because of a server restart so that was unfortunate. Honestly love the controls you guys are crazy, only thing is the rolling when laying down. Fps is still not great, i think duping or base building degrades server performance because a server i played on exclusively gradually got worse in terms of fps, unless it was my stashed loot? Also weather desync is annoying. Also your game will freeze if lag spike occurs while your speaking in game. Definitely needs work, definitely not finished. kind of disappointing like i wanna drop days into this game but its hard to play with the FPS (although improved) + the bugs. im still going to play in hopes that a fixed version of dayz is a patch or 2 away. Still a good attempt on the devs behalf.. I mean it's something better. I just wanna see FPS improvements more then anything.

Has anyone encountered problems with the sound of other players footsteps, they seem terribly quite. it's to the point where people can run up next to me in the woods & i cant hear them & i have decent headphones. it would be sick if they added sounds of branches breaking as a player would run through forest area. an overhaul of other players footsteps in general would be nice, even just a minor one that increases the volume of the footsteps. Just imagine you're walking and you hear branches cracking or water splashing behind some trees. it should atleast be tuned to output different levels of volume based on what the player is doing, currently the max volume threshold of a players footsteps is really low. I think it would improve the game not only for immersion purposes but for tactical purposes aswell. i really hope this could make it for full release if even possible.
  16. I feel like I've spawned by berizino everytime, its kind of annoying following my old footsteps. I feel like this creates an unbalanced playing field when it comes to looting "first come first serve" if you will. Hope its just my bad luck and not something that's going to take a year 2 fix.
  17. I don't know about you guys but these server crashes and restarts are an extreme hassle and feel like the biggest problem on the xbox version of DayZ, aside from inventory issues of coarse. Actually seeing a different time of day would be greatly appreciated, along with rain and all that. I get its in Alpha but this game been out forever your telling me you can never see day & night go by... i just this server restart system this gets fixed next content update. The server crashes on the other hand hope too see fixed within the next hotfix or 2 because that just defeats the purpose of any tactical gameplay. Stalking a survivor just to have the server crash and get plopped into a bad situation upon your next server where you loose all situational awareness you gained from checking your surroundings in the last server you were in that crashed is not good for a game where one wrong step can kill you. Just would like to see everyones opinion aswell as thoughts on the server crashes and especially restarts.

    Switch fire mode is in the game.

    You can do it if you spam fast enough, ive never been stuck in a firing mode, however its definitely not useful on the fly.

    Xbox update 05/09/2018

    Honestly don't think the inventory problems have been fixed, i still can't fill all my inventory slots. However it dosent feel like the number of things you can carry is so random anymore... doesn't the pc version have a way of arranging your equipment within the diamiter of your bag, is that possibly why we cant fill up all slots because everything's just getting pilled up?
