    Ya but a separate map wouldn't split the playerbase on every Chernarus server, like a paid expansion for Chernarus would. It just doesn't sit right with me. pc might have this problem as they've been playing the same map for awhile, but i doubt Chernarus servers will ever die due to one paid dlc, especially on console. I feel you though.

    Mehhhh i don't know about splitting the playerbase like that.. What happens if you're chasing someone and they go to a dlc area? Get a pop up telling you that you don't have the required dlc lol? Why not just have a new official map at that point? Sounds more like a free game buissness move to me.

    Gameplay

    Houses can spawn civilian items + weapons(pistols, bolt action rifles, ect), military areas contain military grade items & weapons depending on how far inland the particular base is (the further the better gear). The point in looting towns is to find loot to stay alive, whether it be food so you don't starve, or a gun. DayZ isn't all about getting the best gear as fast as you can (it's not a battle royale its a survival game) yes you want good gear but it takes time. Also im not sure if you can just run to the NW airfield without atleast looting some towns along the way for food & water.

Main thing for me is that the 3rd person peaking is meta in 3pp, it's an advantage that changes the approach to combat whether you abuse it or not, also if i don't abuse it i have to rely on others not to if i expect an even playing field it's just cheap. On top of that in a 1pp server, being able to look at a building and rely on my eyes to see if someone is watching me or not is comforting. Just imagine a 1st person shooter, csgo for example, being third person, it would be a whole different game, but to each their own.
  8. Honestly if there's such a powerful exploit in a game for so long it's naturally bound to get abused. It's not hard to imagine why someone would dupe, everybody comes to this game for slightly different reasons, some people value the idea of pvp over survival & vise versa. Not everyone's gonna play by the rules, even if you had the opportunity to change all dupers mindsets there would still be the few who would ruin it for all, so not duping and convincing others to agree with you won't make a difference. I can agree duping isn't exactly the most considerate act (ruins the game for the majority) but i don't blame the people who do it, as probably the majority of dupers only contribute a little if anything to the CLE problems duping creates, it only takes one crazy person to ruin the CLE on a server. That said i think BI is responsible for the entire problem & fixing it. I'm not saying be mad at BI, I'm saying people will be people, if theres an exploit that is basically a cheat code, people will use it. So you get more where im coming from, duping among other problems has ruined the game for me, i ended up duping myself with the logic from above, had fun for about a day but quickly lost interest in the entire game, as it wasn't the experience i was looking for & showed me how broke the game was. I haven't played for a month probably 2. Excited for 1.04.

    Character

    I survived i think it was a week in electro, 30+ interactions (some good some bad) ended up leaving with a guy i met there and a vehicle i put together while surviving, although i died an hour before we drove away so i didn't get to leave with the same life. Try surviving in one location, helps you learn the area and can be interesting(especially populated areas). Im planning on surviving in chernogorsk for as long as i can next, (once 1.04 is up) starts getting old after a week so i suggest adding an objective that allows you to leave like fixing up a car. My longest was 3 weeks though with maybe around 10 interactions if less. At the end of the day we're mostly surviving from other players though, hopefully private servers offer more of a challenge in terms of PvE.

    Lol me and friend found eachother in 20 minuites the 1st time we ever played. Bumped into eachother as i was explaining how big the map was & the possibility of finding eachother. I believe we used a train track & the sun to head towards eachother, still lucky i guess, times after that weren't as easy...

    I hopped on the other day and i could only lean in one direction. Regardless, i like the controls personally but there needs to be custom binds for controller.

    Yes and no, you're probably looking at modded weapons/server gameplay, which i think BI has said theres not much chance to get mods on console, but who knows. Anything not modded we will get forsure.

    @ThePugman Wow i really hope it is, it looks beautiful, i especially like the wheat fields.. reminds me of ukraine. Saw another video from the recommended list i thought was abit better of a preview. Heres the link for anyone whos further interested.

    What about adding a medical tab to explain your characters current medical conditions and treatment options? I think this game being hard is what drew most players towards it, nobody wants a walk in the park. Additionaly i notice most people left the game because of how buggy it is, not because they couldn't figure out how somethings works, or because something is too hardcore. You guys might aswell go all in instead of trying to cater to both sides, as the casual side isn't exactly a crowd that would be interested in this game to begin with or for long, and if they are then i don't see why they wouldn't enjoy more hardcore systems, as long as theres a way to understand them (i.e, a medical tab).

    Didn't they add the ability to check someones pulse in 1.04? Hopefully that replaces the ugly text when people talk on the ps4 build currently, hoping i don't see that on the xbox build come 1.04.

    Private server cost

    I wonder how much upload speed you need 2 host a 100 player server, hopefully everyone hosting has decent internet lol. I'd like to see a server that focuses on realism in everyway it can. What's with all the pc private servers having infinite stamina, shits wack imo.

If they were to clarify the medical system into its own screen like i said above then there wouldn't be a problem for those who may have a problem understanding, not like that would take much effort to make either. Never have i seen anyone talk about how complicated the medical system is infact it's usually the other way around.
  19. Just brain storming, i think the tutorial should take place on your 1st playthrough automatically, starting you off with a broken leg & drenched in water ext. (maybe have tutorial spawns). That or have a way to see what items you need to fix your condition, like a textbox in the inventory screen or if they really wanted to overhaul the medical/injury system they could make a whole new screen just for displaying your characters medical condition aswell as ways to diagnose and then treat your conditions. It's hard to imagine that BI seriously think that this feature would make the game to complicated, as @azimov stated, it sounds like an excuse.
  20. Ya there are plenty of other features that are way more complicated then the medical/injury system. Might aswell have a survival tutorial, that way we don't compromise aspects of the game just to make things easier to understand for new players, compromising now is pointless as like i said there are more complicated features already.

    Honestly great news, i always felt like BI needed to focus more on bug fixes & stablizing what we have atm. Though not committing to an advanced medical/injury system is disappointing especially with the explanation given. Apart from that, i really like the direction BI is going as long as this isn't some big excuse to stop adding features & content. Cant wait to hop on 1.04 once its released on console.

    I once was watching a squad from afar, when i noticed one of the them had human steak in his hands that he was feeding to his friends. Instantly regretted not taking the multiple opportunites i had to snipe their faces off, i awaited for a good opportunity to get a clear shot when i lost sight of them behind a few containers (they all left the server as it was turning night). Sometimes that's all the action you can get in however many hours of playing. That's why a fat que is worth it in my opinion, you get to play the game but with alot less fuckery.

    I was thinking if you just added some locked servers you would get better game experience in that player interaction would be better as the players in that locked server are looking for a similar experience as you (not talking about kos i think that's fine) reducing things like combat logging, ext, which will always plague the game. The fact that everyone most likely will be waiting in a que for awhile before they join would indicate that they have some amount of patience and also maybe indicate that they value their character or just a more authentic game experience... I just think the difference would be night & day.. Literally. I agree though that locked servers shouldn't be the solution to everything, but i think they are worth having for the players who want to use them.

    Ya for some reason as BI has stated before in a livestream months ago that having locked servers would make it hard for friends to play together, aswell as some other things that were so irrelevant i forgot. Someone once suggested making half the servers locked or even adding a few to experiment. I don't think BI realize the pros out weigh the cons, even if i had to sit in a que for an hour to play on my locked server i would as i bet many others would if it ment not dealing with exploits. I think there should atleast be a few locked servers for every region, 1pp & 3pp. Granted locked servers don't make the game bug or exploit free, it's a great start. BI seems to have some other things in the works to combat current exploits though. I think locked servers should still be a option for the players that want it, with or without exploits.
