Thank you, that's really all I was looking for.

I play on XBL private servers. When patches are released, like the upcoming 1.05: are private servers required to reset/wipe with each update or is it optional? In other words, what can we expect as the game is updated? It would be nice to know how much we can experience with these.

@ImpulZ How can we report this better? Server numbers? Times? Containers? Really, inventory management overall is really frustrating and almost completely broken right now.
-
Any source? Any proof? To me, that does not sound like a solution BI would provide based on what they have envisioned for this game.
-
Inferred from the last Developer stream that it was being addressed with the first fix to be included in the next patch.
-
It would be if you posted it under Report a Bug.
-
Sad, but nice find. Best we can do is report and try to get them banned until BI eliminates it once and for all.

Have xbox edition but thinking of swapping onto PC
Marvel_Ham replied to andysuter's topic in New Player Discussion
Don't forget for PC: Aimbot, ESP, Teleporting, Map scripts, and more! Xbox has it's own pitfalls such as duplication and meatballing, but at least all your gunfights will be 1:1 -
It was right between the anecdotes and the griping.

There really is no room for a Casual player in a Hardcore-Survival game. The terms are mutually exclusive. Speak for yourself instead of for all console gamers.

Zombies fly into the air when hit Or simply fall over without impact Can give chase at 30kph Can scratch through closed windows Cause no damage to frame Not really priorities to be fixed, but truly goofy mechanics in place right now.

• Crouch-walk through infested towns. Zombies ignore you during the day and you're practically invisible at night. Bonus: you sound like zombie footsteps when you walk. • If you suspect you're being followed or stalked, try bagging your shoes. Yes, you could bleed a little, but your steps are so slight you may escape an unwanted encounter. • Keep your stashes away from the coast. A 3-minute jog inland is worth more than all the easy-access you could hope to gain. • Save room for your gun in your backpack. Try to never reveal what you're carrying unless you have to. • #4 cans are a melee weapon and can beat the snot out of any enemy. • Carry multiple knives: one for melee, one for tooling, one for cans.

Things I'd like to see added/changed/removed.....
Marvel_Ham replied to ZXDMCFCWoody007's topic in Xbox
• pistolwhip /gunpunch: going into melee after a gun is empty/jammed • kicking: same as above as another alternative • drive-by shooting from vehicles • stone throwing: been mentioned before, a way to cause distraction or injury • writing on papers + pen: an in-game way to leave notes • watches: can be set to major city clocks, include a battery • "Play Dead" emote: better than lying down and can be a life-saver -
Developers cater to people with no life outside of this game
Marvel_Ham replied to Porcelain_Punisher's topic in Xbox
A big disagreement from me here. I see DayZ as an adventure game with PvP only being a part of it, similar to an MMO. The XBox cheaters not just spoil the loot economy, but really make for a toxic community compared to PC...whether on purpose or not. -
Excellent...more tears... The silver lining about exploits/exploiters is that it won't last forever and the users will be sorely handicapped after resolution. If you play legit, you'll know how to survive better than a cheater who didn't experience panic over losing their progress before. Plus, you'll know how to do more with less.

Yeah, but it can negate ambient sounds like rain and shivering: leading to hypothermia and such. Another problem is silent vehicles, with the same pros & cons.

When you hear the growls, use stereo audio and crouch-walk right around them. I've had infected turn to and ignore me completely only an arms-length away. I agree the night is more difficult now, but not "worse" in opinion. Seems like BI wants to encourage use of lights or stealth to navigate in the dark. I actually prefer it to re-locate my loot.

BI took another shot at fixing duping by changing the logout timer. As far as I understand, duping on Xbox has a tangle with the XBL service as a whole, not solely BI's hive network. I agree that solving major exploits should be priority #1 in the next Xbox patch.

Tweaked: Chemlight illumination radius increased Tweaked: Chemlight illumination range lowered to 7.5 m Changed: Lowered the illumination range of chemlight and the light around character at night Glowsticks do what now? Also F.Y.I.: US-NY servers don't show up under the Americas filter, currently only under All. Congratulations on getting a strong patch out otherwise!

(Before everyone gets all defensive, this is not criticism. It is creative suggestion for post-release.) More things need to EXPLODE in this game! Chemical barrels, electrical boxes, the giant gas tanks, bonfires...you get the idea. I heard rumors of grenades and rocket launchers may be coming...nice. Why nice? It can add elements of new playstyles and hazards everywhere. One example would be a defenseless survivor getting the advantage by timing an attack correctly. Add the rare surprise of hearing something loud cut through the silence of the environment.

With all the troubleshooting and frustrations littering the boards, maybe there's a spot for promoting what we enjoy about DayZ. The more things develop, the less BI may have to fine-tune things that are already solid. Examples: Sounds - from the environment, to the actions, and the (me fave) weapon effects: spot on. The way they mic'd that M4 makes it sound so damn chunky, love it. Makes for a nice hike around. View distance - I can't believe sometimes how far we can see, scoped or not. Even when weather is a factor, it makes for some helpful cover knowing there's haze. Character models/ artstyle - BI struck a nice balance between realism and artfulness. Haven't found anything that really looks out-of-place yet.

It wasn’t like that in the previous patch though, just seems odd to me.

1. Yesterday, I used a lockpick to lockup a shed in the middle of nowhere. It's currently still locked after 24h real-time. Do servers reset or function in a new way now? I haven't played a long enough single session yet to notice. 2. Loot respawn seems different now, at least to me. From what I've seen, items respawn almost in categories, if that makes sense. Like I'll come across duct tape and wool coats for a while, then it's like sewing kits and axes next. Anyone else experience this?

I appreciate the constant rollout of updates and bug fixes, the game gets better incrementally. The more familiar I get with the mechanics and equipment, the better I get at preserving it through gameplay and stashing. In anticipation of future resets, is it out of the question to get a notification about a clearing of the database?
